Cora spent most of the day finishing up the gym, then returning to the main taproom. Surprisingly, Heishe was pleasant, helpful, and didn't rub anything in her noodle. For a moment, Cora was hopeful that tonight would be different. She liked the challenge, wanted to bring a murder to justice, and perhaps do a little good since Eberron.
Most of her history was a blur. The good news was, she was alive, she no longer had terrible nightmares, and the scars were gone - physically, and mentally. She even had a friend that she had stumbled upon when she landed on Toril.
"Hi Cora!"someone screamed from the door. Cora nearly jumped out of her skin. She turned. "****S sake, Kasha."Cora sighed. "You scared the **** out of me." "HA!"Kasha laughed. "Sorry about that! Ooh! Is this your new place?"she looked around from the door and sniffed the air a few times. "What's that smell?" Cora went back to scrubbing. "This place needs some work. I'm busy. Do you need something?" "Nerp!"she said, "Was just passing through. We're about to leave again on another mission. Just wanted to say hi! Gonna miss you!" Cora smiled softly. "Don't get yourself killed, kiddo." Kasha waved her hand like it was such a silly notion. "Oh, you!"she drawled. "Bye!" "See ya."Cora said, watching Kasha prance away with a black cat at her side, also trotting comically. The scene of the two of them leaving made Cora smile and roll her eyes. She could only imagine the trouble a cat and a shape changing half elf could get into.
Another lifetime ago, perhaps much longer, Cora's best friend was a chronically drunk dwarf who treated her like a daughter. The day he died was the day Cora died inside too - she wasn't even there when he died, she found out about his death when an asian warrior princess came to deliver the news and a boat load of gold.
She stopped scrubbing, lost in the memory. It was fuzzy, of course, as if her new life was rewriting the old memories. She did, however, still remember enough, and lots of sour memories reformed in her mind the longer she concentrated. Getting more and more frustrated, she shook the memories out of her head and when dusk came, she went upstairs and undressed to bathed. As she dried and dressed, she looked at herself in the mirror. Her tan skin was unmarred. Whatever had resurrected her had completely repaired her skin. Gone were the bruises, scars, and evidence of broken bones. Absentmindedly, her fingers traced a few areas of her body where scars used to be, but only normal skin and muscle could be felt. She found herself lost in thought as more questions than answers crept up in her mind, and again, shook her head as if they'd go away.
She put on her sword belt and armor and headed to the Muleskull. There was work to do, and Heishe was waiting for her.
Watching the Dungsweeper Guild's is a rather boring and very stinky day for you Heishe. One day down. For the evening, cast disguise self on yourself again then roll me perception for your night work.
Cora, your day of working on the house gets you down to 910GP left. Roll me perception, stealth, and investigation.
Drusilla, you have a day of patrolling, you do some fight breaks ups and keep an eye out but nothing too exciting.
Vincent, your work on the house gets you down to 900GP
Lu-Lu, you pass your test on beasts and how to fight them without effort, gain 1/2 prof to Nature checks. You need 10 days of religion studies on gods and their soldiers, 8 days of arcane teachings and how to fight those who abuse it, and 2 days of studying history and lessons in tactics. You can choose what days you want to spend on what. Once you have all of those finished, you will gain a rank and go on to focused combat training. (WIP idea on how to have the order work)
Vincent gives Lulu a brief glance after he heard her frustrations, cocking a brow. “Whatcha studying there, Lulu?”He would ask, walking over to take a look down at the books she had been hovering over. “Aaah, history and tactics, eh? Why didn’t ya ask me to help?! Used to be a soldier you know! We had to learn this stuff way back when too. Here, let me help ya.”
Had she agreed, he would sit himself across from her and tutor her as best as he could for her upcoming test.
