Onyx kneels down in the pool of warm blood, turning Marchosias over to reveal carved flesh deep and open. There are areas that have now gone completely white, and his skin is cold as ice. Though the images of the black ooze were false, the demon was very real. So too were the wounds inflicted, and even the best doctor would say that he is beyond the aid of serious magic.
While he was saddened at knowing his companion's fate, Onyx silently wondered if this place was getting to him; he'd expected to be far more disturbed at death in here.
Quickly shaking off the disturbing thought, he just asked, "He doesn't have long; does anyone at least have anything to take away his pain?"
Onyx frowned. He would normally have been adverse to such an action, but... strangely, it seemed appropriate here. Leaving his companion's body, he stepped back, then nodded to Chazrael. "Probably for the best."
Arbon recasts light on his mace. "Let's move on. Marchosias would not wish us to wallow here longer." With that he steps into the tunnel, shield up at the ready, and he whispers "Gond's forge light guide me."
Grahl will not have said much through this ordeal, not being well known with Marchosias he cares little for his faith. Believing Gruumsh will lead Grahl in the right path.
He is more worried about the illusions that seemed to have happened. Unsure of what its real Grahl will keep his axe close and his allies at safe distance.
Grahl will keep an eye on the others as much as whats ahead, not knowing if there is anything he could trust here.
Onyx walked behind the others in silence, forgetting his usual tendancy to try to stay in the middle of the pack. "This might be harder than I had expected," he thought to himself, Marchosias' death weighing on him. "I hope you come through soon, Ralimgam."
Crawling underneath the carved rock tunnel, the goal inched ever closer. Though stooped, the room on the other side came into view. Upon reaching the clearing, in the dim blue light, you see a tattered cloth hanging from a framed square. Its mounted to the wall directly infront of you.
On each side of this, there are two metal braziers jutting from the floor on each side. They are lightly smoking but clearly extinguished.
Finally getting the urge to investigate the light source, you look up. On the ceiling is a pane of glass. Through it, you see the night sky and a full moon shining through clouds. It is noticeably closer than the 100 feet tall one from the other room.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
"That cannot be the true night sky," Arbon comments, "I feel we have more illusions to sift through here." He makes his way over to the braziers and the framed cloth to inspect them without touching (perception: 18).
It is a normal, if torn, banister mounted red and gold curtain from the inside of a castle. You can imagine it being draped in front of large and ornately designed window. The braziers are two simple blackend metal rods jutting from the floor with the same kind of metal basket on top. There are small chunks of burned wood and charcoal inside them, they feel warm even from a small distance.
Its a mirror. A grand one with an ornate golden border trimming it, large enough that you could see the entire room in its reflection if the whole curtain were moved.
Arbon looks around the room at the others. He takes out his tinderbox and lights the two braziers to shed some light. He then opens up the curtain over the mirror.
-You strike the tinderbox hard on each of the braziers and their embers begin to catch-
You pull back the curtain and see yourselves in it. The glass is unimaginably clean and the image so crystal clear and impossibly lifelike. If you reached out, you swear you could touch it.
Its almost so striking that you nearly missed the window in the ceiling not behind there-
-Each of the braziers catch full flame and the mirror fades into an open tunnel.-
You step back, prepared to strike at anything. These illusions have run rampant!
This was fortunate for you as two very much corporeal black eyed, red skinned Hell Hounds jump from the tunnel behind it.
They growl and snap violently, slowing walking in front of the braziers.
Your movement greatly agitates them and the one whose brazier you attempted to snuff out locks eyes with you and begins a low growl. It is that of an ancient and evil hatred of life, something it has wholly never experienced. This beast is looking for any opportunity it can to kill you on site. Make the wrong move, and it will lunge.

Chazrael draws his sword and moves over. "We can end his suffering. Any objectives?"

Chazrael glances down at their former companion. "Peace be with you my friend." He drives the sword into his throat.

There is a silence about the room as you all return to the cave entrance.
You all recognize the very real danger of being alone in this place.
Some of you perhaps even think of the hunter, and wonder if he's met a similar fate.
The tunnel awaits...
Arbon recasts light on his mace. "Let's move on. Marchosias would not wish us to wallow here longer." With that he steps into the tunnel, shield up at the ready, and he whispers "Gond's forge light guide me."
Chazrael nods and sheaths his sword, then draws his bow and walks into the tunnel. "Agreed."

Arbon moves a little closer and uses his mace to move the curtain aside, just slightly, to see what might be behind it.
Chazrael stands next to Arbon as he pulls the curtain.

Nobody moves, they don't lose eye contact.
Was this real? Would striking down these hounds mean he was attacking companions? Dare he risk it?
Onyx grimaced. "Games," he muttered, "and more illusions. So... let's see if we can find a weakness, then?"
With that he folded his hand and waved it at one of the braziers, casting his magic to snuff out its flame.
