Maril studies Leareth with curiosity, almost wonder. Is this much change possible?
(passive insight 23 or 26.
She’s convinced the elf is not lying. But clearly he wants power. Well, he can believe what he wants about his role- as long as the wild places and the balance of the world is preserved, she thinks. ‘Let’s hope the egos of the rest of the group don’t get in the way’ she thinks..
She smiles, and out loud to both Kierro and Leareth, she says, “I am agreed with that- well then- let’s make it happen- let’s get us to the shards .”
“Well, Honor- I’m not sure if we can go back… but perhaps,.. Leareth can probably plane shift you right now with that device. Although I’d be careful- I’m not sure he knows how to use it right, he got us lost here. (She smiles, clearly trying to tease Leareth a bit) In any case, we need our powers restored first- then many of us could plane shift there if we could get the appropriate fork.“
“I don’t remember how things ended for my people, the Firbolg of the Ice Steppes, only glimmers of my youth. I don’t feel any need to go back yet. Perhaps when I’m more restored I will want to”.
Kierro shakes his head. “I imagine such a spell would not be enough, Maril. Exandria is another separate world, not just a different plane of this one.”
He looks upward to the sunlight. “I have reasons I’d like to stay, and equally as many reasons to return. Both combat their own evils and hardships that I would want to help alleviate. Having been sent to this one, perhaps I’d like to stay, be of help, then return after a while. I will see, as we continue onward.”
"I don't mean go back," Honor says. "I've no desire to be anywhere where the gods would so rashly deal with people who'd done nothing to them. Finding a world free of gods, or at least free of the irrational ones, that's what I'm interested in. Which, yes, still requires regaining my powers."
Everyone Your castle continues its fllight Eastward. The day after you set out from the Mithril's island, the dragons find several hydras in the sea below. They feast heartily on them, enough food there for all of the dragons to eat their fill.
Bhuraelea and Maril A day after meeting up with the others at the Mithril's island, and getting going past it, you two would both sense another dragon ahead of you. It is a bit off of the track you are following though. You sense a Concordant dragon. (as Maril already has 2 dragons, this one is for Bhuraelea.)
Maril seeks out a conversation with Naderiel, accompanied by her dragons in humanoid form. (It’s not a secret conversation, but she does it in private, so unless others are spying they won’t hear this part)
Maril appears as a beautiful 7.5 foot tall firbolg woman with long red hair, clad in shimmering purple scale armor. She walks with a long dark staff and shield, even around the castle. (If asked about this, she explains that this is because she believes there is always a constant threat of attack at any moment- and the group should be ready)
“I apologize for disturbing you, Nadariel. I hope you have been well. I also hope we can be friends- in spite of what may have happened…before. I don’t remember how things were between us. Our interests here are aligned, I believe. These are my Dragon companions- Ulroth the Amethyst and Ethiem the Amber. I suspect you also sense the presence of a Concordant dragon a little south of our current course. Should we go and add it to our group? I am willing to help you with this endeavor- we can also see about enlisting some of the others, or even steering this castle that way if possible. I’m not sure how they handled these things before- we did just add a Mithril to our little army. “
Kierro has been keeping watch at the front of the cloud ground for the past few hours, ruminating and occasionally talking with Chysen when they swap watch duties. Mostly about the present mission, but some other topics pop up as well: (“If I might ask, what do gems and such taste like?”). If he’s not there or in the air speaking with Sharot, he’s in the keep’s great hall, making conversation with any who might desire it.
Kierro glances over his shoulder, warmly acknowledging her but shaking his head. "I have reasons for being out here besides simply keeping watch, but I'd appreciate the company." he responds. "Good for just having a moment to think clearly, consider what we've done and will do, that sort of thing. Plus, if I can deal with something that comes our way without having to raise the alarm, that's all the better."
He stares back to the castle, then to Maril. "Attacking a castle with the ten of us, along with several dragons, is a death sentence. And the gods have sent warriors to dispose of us, an order they cannot refuse. Is it wrong to want to convince them to turn back, or spare their lives so that they can be rescued, rather than having their lives be cut short in the ensuing battle?"
Maril is the first to notice that Naderiel is no longer aboard the flying castle. Searching for him, she would not be able to locate them. Others would notice over time that the bard is no longer with them. You would all be able to sense the Cloud dragon flying off though, leaving the area of the castle.
(OOC: I am just moving Naderiel out of the area as the player has not responded to PMs or on this forum. If they return, and can be active, then they are free to rejoin the group.)
Maril, you do sense them heading towards the true neutral dragon you sensed, so figure they are going, on their own, to speak with that dragon. with that, you move out to speak with Kierro in regard to watch duties.
Yuno smiles nervously and responds, "Y-yeah... slow travel... really slow."
Leto has been spending his time simply watching everyone aboard discuss, and enjoying the food and wine aboard the castle. “Time is on our side.”He replies to the newcomer. “What was ours will be ours again, that is inevitable.”Then looks closely at the small girl to see if he can gleam any bit of insight ((33)) on how she’s feeling.
As the castle flies on Eastward, you pass over a whirlpool, which churns the sea under the storm clouds. Moving on past the whirlpool, you are moving past where you can all now sense a true neutral Concordant dragon to your South. It is moving away now though, as is the Cloud dragon you also now sense in that direction.
Of more immediate concern though, you also sense an Ancient Bronze dragon flying in from the East, heading towards your position. It is 3 hours away from you when you first detect it. None of you have the power to control ancient dragons as of yet, though the normal boosts to social checks would apply.
Yuno smiles nervously and responds, "Y-yeah... slow travel... really slow."

Yuno is feeling bored... and itchy.

He opens them, pausing a moment before nodding to the two. "Yes, let's."
"I don't mind helping this world," Honor says, "but at this point I don't plan to stay."

It's been a few days since Yuno joined. She is pacing around the castle, a bit jittery like she's suffering from some kind of withdrawal.
Maril goes out to see Kierro at one point while he’s on watch. “I’d be happy to take some watches, with my dragon friends. Just let me know!”
she spends other spare time in the library reading history and geography of the world, or in her chambers.
she asks Yuno “it’s a slow way to travel, right? Can be a bit maddening sometimes, although an impressive view.”
Yuno smiles nervously and responds, "Y-yeah... slow travel... really slow."
Kierro glances over his shoulder, warmly acknowledging her but shaking his head. "I have reasons for being out here besides simply keeping watch, but I'd appreciate the company." he responds. "Good for just having a moment to think clearly, consider what we've done and will do, that sort of thing.
