As Velda began to take her first step forward, there was a waft of air that came from below, catching Nova’s nose. “Pit!” Her attention would snap to Velda and Nova’s instincts would kick in before she knew she reacted. As the floor began to crumble away beneath the warriors foot, Nova would sweep out with her arm to scoop Velda by the waist, tugging her back with her against the wall.
Velda snaps to immediately at Nova's warning, but she would have fallen into the trap, had it not been for Nova. Back up against the wall, panting, she looks at Nova, and gives her a silent nod in thanks.
"We're having some trouble here, a trap or something. Give me a moment." She answers to Cadence. Then, seeing the ten-foot pit before her, Velda carefully tests the small ledge at the side of the pit. Not trusting it, she decides to do her best and leap across the pit. Taking a running start, she hurls herself across the gap, landing hard but safely on the other side, surprised that she had lept a full seven feet further than she had needed to.
She turns around to Nova, ready to help her should she not be as successful.

Cadence the door swings open easily and you see what appears to be a storeroom pressed into service as living quarters. Two double bunks stand against the wall near the door, while barrels and crates fill the southern half of the chamber. What concerns you the most at the moment though are three ruffians in the room in similar attire to the ones you encountered yesterday at the Sleeping Giant. They seem very surprised to see you.
Fionn you are only able to make out two of them from your vantage point. I’ll allow both of you to act for surprise round in whichever order you would like and then we will move to init order. Still need an init roll from nova.

Cadence steps into the room, her blades whisking from their sheaths, one of them slashing out and striking at the nearest guy. Green flame dances up her blade as she slashes at him.

Well I can’t do that... After watching Velda jump so effortlessly across, Nova would blink in awe for a moment before glancing down at the pit. She’d waver a little bit as a wave of vertigo would hit her, but would shake it off as quickly as it came. Not wanting to show weakness, the halfelf would take a deep breath and push herself to move as nimbly as possible.

Rising up onto her tip toes, the druid would gracefully step along the edge of the pit. Upon reaching the other side with Velda, she’d encourage the warrior to keep pressing her charge.

Moving into the room quickly taking advantage of their surprise you slash at the closest one while activating the green flames on your short sword. As the ruffian closest to the door turns to face you “How did you...?” is all he manages to get out before your slash catches him on his left arm leaving a slight gash that starts bleeding. You watch as the green flames leap onto the ruffian sitting on the lower bunk along the north wall, as he quickly pats out the flames. But not before they singe him a bit.
Fionn your aim is thrown off by trying to not hit Cadence with your bolt as well as the bright flash of green flame. As far as you can tell the bolt hit the western wall of the room where Cadence is located by the slight ‘ting’ you heard followed by clattering. Maintaining your position behind the stairs you ready another bolt.
Nova, Velda what is your next move during the surprise round? I positioned you by the door since that was your intent last I knew.You would have another 15-20 each to go threw the doors if that’s what you wanted.
Nova would position herself at Valda’s side. Should the fighter desire to kick open the doors in a pair to rush in, she’d prepare herself to do so. The druid would draw her scimitars upon entry.

Velda and Nova as the two of you time your entrance together. Velda with a Spartan like kick to the door in front of her and Nova shoulders hers. Both of the doors fly open into the interior of what appears to be a family crypt with a loud BANG!
You both notice three large stone sarcophagi stand within this dusty crypt, and propped up against each sarcophagus is a human skeleton clad in bits of rusty mail. False columns along the walls are carved in the image of spreading oak trees.

All three Redbrands take turns slashing at Cadence who is blocking the exit to the room with a pair of quick slashes each with their shortswords. “Shouldn’t have come in here by yourself” is heard coming from one of them. Though you are unable to determine which one said it in the flurry of motion. During the barrage of sword slashes and fancy footwork from both yourself and your three opponents you skillfully manage to deflect or avoid all six strikes against you frustrating your opponents. As all three of them look to be trying to lead you further into the room by backing away from you.

Fionn sets aside his crossbow and sweeps out his mace, moving forward as soon as he spots one of the redcloaks he points his mace at him and says
"You're no daisey"
Sacred Flame: Flame-like radiance descends on a creature that you can see within range. The target must succeed on a Dexterity saving throw or take 1d8 radiant damage. The target gains no benefit from cover for this saving throw.

Cadence seems to duck and weave, almost unnaturally, in a graceful flow of steps, counter steps, and blocks, the tune behind the universe guiding her movement. A magical shield rises to catch an errant blade that would have cut her deeply as the three ruffians step back from her.
She grins and winks at them, "Come on boys, come out and play with your toys...". She fires a blast of flame at R1 suddenly (Attack: 11 Damage: 3), and then she backs up, her fluid motions moving her in small zig zags until she's standing next to Fionn (just south of him, move 35 feet.)
She turns to Fionn and says loudly, "I think I scared them, this little fem..."
Why didn’t I think of booting the door... Nova would rub her shoulder as she’d look around, sniffing the air. She’d glance to Velda before moving in to investigate a bit closer. Velda could double back faster than her if she felt the need to go to the others if there was concern.
First thing was to make sure the bodies that were dead, were dead.
Velda slashes at one of the skeletons, just to make sure it will really stay down. As soon as she's assured that there is no threat emanating from the skeletons here, she will start making her way back, leaping across the pit again.

As you investigate the apparent crypt before you and don’t see any rebrands, Velda runs up to the closest skeleton and slashes off one of its arms to no reaction from the skeleton. Nova witnessing this you move to a different one and nudge it to the ground with your scimitar. Also to no reaction. Feeling your companions need your assistance hasten back the way you came.
Top of Round 2 Cadence you face another barrage of strikes from the three ruffians. Through another graceful series of steps and counter steps you manage to gracefully avoid or deflect all six strikes.

Fionn during the sword ballet, you manage to land a bolt in the shoulder of the first ruffian that came up to attack Cadence as he lets out a grunt causing his swings to go wide and holds his shoulder while retreating back into the bunk room. Before he can make it all the way back to safety a blast of fire comes from Cadence and the ruffian drops to the ground. The remaining two look aghast and ready to continue fighting with renewed vigor. (I changed your attack that hit to a fire bolt cantrip and used the offhand bonus attack roll for you AoO. Hope that makes sense)
