Grix smiles at the dwarfs words, his sense of belonging slowly growing in the midst of this band of adventurers and adds his agreement "Yes, let's get back and report....what we saw in the other room is a complete mystery to me......let's hope the captain can find someone that can explain what we saw"

"well, my mom, an elf, fell in love with a human man, and hid who she was. When she was pregnant with me she told him who see really was, and he yelled at her, and told her to leave. Mother went to the woods ans that's where we lived, forever. Not too long ago my mother died, and that's when I meet some friends and started to explore the world. I've found that mother was wrong on a few things. Your not all @$$ holes like mother said everyone is."

Only thing anyone can notice is that some of this is painful for her to talk about.
(Feel free to continue the conversation between Thorin and Trinity, if anything Grix and Abzerilan can talk to the captain about what happened)
After a short period (the section wasn't very big), you reach the door to the Vaults. It opens without a problem, but the creaking hinges wake up the Eoguna in the next room. From their perches on the ceiling and various platforms in the room, they watch you curiously, but make no other movements. Back in the area where the Rod was taken, you find Captain Hallowgazer, several guards, and Gadren. They appear to be planning their next move while awaiting your report. The guards are the first to spot you, and they step aside to let you get to Hallowgazer. He lets out a sigh of relief and smiles at seeing you. "You have made it back. Good. Tell me, did you see it? Did you find the Rod of Nankon?" He asks desperately.

"Drigold, she is a halfling, long brown hair, beautiful blue eyes, and big ummm, nevermind. Very pretty face. She lives in the temple (I don't have a town or god in mind for her right now, DM help on that would be appreciated) and well the temple was not happy with my ummm..." She looks at her hands, "my powers, so Drigold had to choose between me and the temple." Trinity's face gets sad. "I was in love with her, but she wasn't in love with me. Not that she wasn't enough in love with me, it just wasn't mutual. I couldn't stay there, that's why I left there."
Thorin puts a hand on the half-elf's shoulder, "Ah lost love, the worst wound o' 'em all. Well, 'haps one day we can swing by yer ol' home an' see this little lass o' yers," he beams a smile at Trinity, "Besides, better a life on the road than stuck in a stuffy temple!"
Grixeor passes by the others and speaks directly to Hallowgazer, somewhat nervously given their lack of success in retrieving the item "We did find the Rod, but where it was and what has it is difficult to believe. We found a room, that was not a room, but what seemed to be an island at sea....and a creature, some sort of octopus, had the Rod in it's grasp. As soon as it saw us the island disappeared and only an empty room remained. Does that even make the remotest of sense?"

"I had attempted pursuit, but the slippery bastard had been long gone before I could even get close...!" Abzerilan grumbles. "Took out our frustrations - okay, mine - on some undead that had the misfortune to encounter us."
Hearing this, Thorin pipes up, "True that is! An' we have a bit o' stuff ta offload if someone has the coin!" He lifts up the armour as evidence. "What'll ya have us do now captain? I've no seen a sight like that strange island before. I'm keen ta get my mitts on that slippery squid!"
Hallowgazer looks bewildered after your story. He walks away to think for a moment. After a time, he returns and says, "Well, if it's a creature that has the Rod, I don't think this was planned. It must have simply taken the items randomly, rather than planning to take them specifically. If it's gone now, the Vaults are safe, but I fear the Rod is still gone, and without it, all of Inigus is in danger. I've never heard of such a creature as the one you've described, but there are some books here that may hold the information you require." He motions for one of the guards to come closer, and he tells him to find the Exiled Manual and the Hollow Tome, then bring them back. "I would ask that you go after the creature, once we have learned what it is, of course." After a moment, the guard returns with two large, ancient, fragile books. He hands one, the Exiled Manual, to Grixeor, and the other to Captain Hallowgazer, who begins to look through it.

"B'fore I forget..." Abzerilan shrugs off the lent shield and gives it back to Hallowgazer. "This was a great help on our way back. Thank you for allowing me use of it."
Afterwards, Abzerilan is willing to help Grix with searching for the beastie that made off with all of those artifacts in the book.
Seeing Abzerilan give back the shield, Thorin grabs the staff he was lent and also hands it back. "Thanks fer yer staff, though I didn't think ta use it down there." He then sits back while the others read books and has a swig of ale from his water skin.

Grixeor takes the tomb and gently lays it down on the nearest thing that passes for a table, or alternatively the ground, and then beckons over the others before starting to turn the pages, looking for anything resembling the creature that they saw. It seems to whoever reads it that it is laid out alphabetically, and when in the 'M' section, you come across a crude drawing of a creature that resembles what you saw in the Old Vaults. It accompanies a detailed entry about a type of creature known as "Morkoth". It seems they travel the multiverse on strange islands (like the one you saw) collecting strange items, and sometimes even creatures. They build up collections, and fight with great tenacity to keep their collections.
Captain Hallowgazer closes the Hollow Tome, shaking his head. "I didn't find anything. You?"

Hallowgazer moves over to look at what you are pointing out. After studying the pages for a moment, he turns to you all as a party. "Well, you said it disappeared down there. That probably means, based on the information here, it traveled somewhere else, somewhere not on Inigus. I can't tell you where, but there is someone who may be able to. A half-elf wizard, Trajeon, who lives in Lugin. He specializes in the multiverse and creatures that frequently travel it. Aside from that, while you were down in the Crypts, I called for one of the Legion's diviners to come tell us when Xymminen will wake up..." He pauses, and it seems as though he doesn't want to finish his sentence.
