I want there to be a sidekick maker, that is a combination of the PC maker and homebrew monster maker.

I wish we were able to use a function similar to building a character but with monsters into sidekicks using the TCoE rules.

I am unable to find where to change a homebrew monster's Proficiency Bonus.  I started out using an exesting monster and adjusted him, using Sidekick Rules I am leveling him up and I can not figure out where the Proficiency Bonus is.

The blades disappear "immediately" after hitting or missing, so I don't believe you would be able to throw it back, but deflection should still work.

So I am going to play devil's advocate because I see both sides.

If you reduce damage to 0 do you really get hit?

@DxJxC With deflect missile it is not a miss or a hit so based on that would it change your opinion?

The condition for being able to use Deflect Missiles is being hit by a ranged attack - so it does still count as a hit for the Rogue - even if the Monk manages to deflect all of the damage.

"If you reduce the damage to 0, you can catch the missile if it is small enough for you to hold in one hand and you have at least one hand free. If you catch a missile in this way"

(So I'm playing devil's advocate because I agree with both calls, and wanting to see what others think about both sides.)

So allow me to give how I see deflect missile this in my head, missle is sent to a normal person it hits and penetrates, but deflect missle let's the monk catch it as it is going in, therefore reducing damage.  So when it is reduced to 0 the missle does not enter the skin, therefore it's not a hit.

So a soulblade throws it's phy blade knife at a monk.

    A) can the monk use deflect missiles?

    B) if the damage is reduced to 0 can the monk throw it back?

posted a message on Subclass missed out in MMoT

I always forget about pankration when talking about the evolution of wrestling and MMA. That would probably be the better one to go with fora monk tradition. Now yes pankration would have looked a lot like MMA.  Wrestling has always been a grappling sport, Danna White and Joe Rogan have said it millions of time, wrestling is the best background for MMA, anyway, pankration took several different ways of fighting and put them together, while it is not a 100% match, I would say that it's really close, and modern medical knowlage, and technology would be the biggest reason it looks different.

I think with the MOoT book they should have added a subclass for monks, that focus on being an ancient wrestler, which would be close to a modern day MMA fighter.
