Alright, yeah, that's a fair point. You guys are probably eager to start anyways, and I certainly don't want to take too long lest I bore you guys. So I will indeed start.

Keep in mind, also, that I'm new to this method of DM'ing, so I might not be the best at it. But anyways, let's begin!

So you are all in a tavern called the Laughing Halberd Inn. There are 28 other people in the tavern with you, drinking and eating and laughing and singing. They're very noisy, and are probably annoying you (don't really know how your characters would react to a bunch of sloppy drunk men in a bar). In one corner stands a fireplace where the quieter folk sit, and on the opposite side of the fireplace is the bar. All the stools here are occupied, but you could find room to squeeze through to ask for food or drink.

(When each of you post, give a general description of your character and what they do. If any dice rolls are required, like a Persuasion check or something, feel free to roll, and I'll resolve the roll after that)

Arkrius forgoes a drink as he instead sits with his back to the wall, his eyes scanning the entirety of the inn as if looking for someone. While one of his arms his resting on the table, the other his set downward with his hand resting on the pommel of one of the short swords belted on his hip.

The goblin has green skin with pointed ears and jagged but considerably well kept teeth. His eyes are a ruddy brown color with flecks of yellow in them. His hair is short cut and black, some of it near his forehead parted by a long healed scar that runs part way down his face. His clothing consists of a black shirt and black breaches that are worn under studded leather armor, a hood being slung over his head. On his back is a quiver and a bow that is as tall as he is, two shortsword resting on his left hip.

Thorin, a tanned hill dwarf with a short dark mohawk and bushy dark beard steps into the tavern. His travelling clothes are a little worn and dirty from the road, a hand axe hangs at his side, as does a couple of waterskins. His brown eyes sparkle as he surveys the room of frivolity and a broad smile crosses his dwarvish features.

Thorin pushes through to the bar and orders an ale. Once he's got his drink, he quickly makes his way over to the group of singing revellers. He joins in the celebrations heartily, singing at the top of lungs to match the crowd. Keeping an eye out for any others in the bar that might cause trouble or be looking for adventure like himself, he notices the goblin (Arkrius) leaning on a back table. Not a usual sight in many towns, he's not phased by the goblin, but keeps a note of it. Maybe they'll have some fun adventure with which he can join along in his wandering.

Tikea stands at the center of the group of drunks, singing along with them and laughing. She stands at about average height for a satyr and is rather slender. She has tanned skin, green eyes and auburn hair cut at the shoulder. Her horns are like those of a ram and curl down around the sides of her head. She has legs like a goat, with fur the same color as her hair and cloven hooves. 

If at any time the singing begins to die down, she starts up a new one, usually a satyr drinking song, even if no one sings along with her.

Thorin will grab out his horn to play along with these songs (Help on the performance).

Abzerilan, a grey-scaled dragonborn standing by the fireplace, with a mug of ale in his hand. Even among the crowd, it is hard to miss him, being taller than most of the patrons. He is wearing his old, slightly-dented military armor, and his shield and halberd resting against the side of the hearth, near him. Around his neck is an amulet of a white drangon's head in profile against a blue background.

He is swapping stories with some soldiers and off-duty guards. He got a laugh when he finished his story with "So, yeah, word of warning... Pepper an' me are disaster waiting to happen."
