As the party prepare to leave, faced with yet another fantastical task Grix says to nobody in particular "Who would have thought a simple night of guard duty would see us here....travelling the planes and dealing with dragons and liches....." then to the dragon "any more words of advice you can give to us poor mortals"

Heading down the slopes, nothing happens. Trajeon looks concerned the whole time, as if he knows what you're walking into but refuses to say. Occasionally a strange howl pierces the relative silence, but everything remains normal, as normal as it can be considering the surroundings. Eventually you come to a cliff, a near 400 foot drop to a barren, dead land, devoid of even the volcanic mess that you see up where you are now. Out in the distance, you can see what appears to be a walled city or fortress of some kind, a tower in the middle seemingly acting as a kind of lighthouse, scanning the desolate wastes below for something. Suddenly, a green shimmer up in the sky distracts you. It was faint, but you're sure you saw something... flying.

Thorin points in the general direction of the green shimmer, "Did anyone else see that?" He stops and searches the sky for whatever made the light (Perception: 10).
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
"P'haps we should find somewhere ta hide fer a moment," Thorin says looking around for a hiding spot (Perception: 5 if you need it), "Best let whatever that thing is fly on over an' not come lookin' at us."
The shimmer appears two or three more times before it remains constant in the sky for a few moments. It grows brighter and brighter, until a shape swoops over your heads with incredible speed, kicking up large amounts of dust and ash. As it swirls about, you hear the beating of wings, and eventually a massive object thuds to the earth. When the dust settles, you see before you a magnificent dragon, its scales a shiny, smooth emerald green. It looks up at you with a snarl. "What are you doing at the edge of Krangath, mortals?"

"Another dragon? Brilliant," Thorin says quietly, and he bows slightly as he begins to address the dragon, "Hello there, master dragon. We're, uh, just travellers tryin' ta find our way ta catch up with a creature that stole somethin' from us. Blasted thing keeps jumpin' 'bout through the planes. Another dragon, p'haps a friend o' yours? Well, the other dragon sent us this way in search o' someone ta help us catch up with the squid thing that stole our artefact."
"Ah, Fragherwe, you old bastard." The dragon laughs. "He must want me to send you somewhere. Somewhere you cannot go..." He looks you each up and down. "The Astral Plane, isn't it?"

"The well being of the few outweighs the many. But the well being of the few can be solved easily with the red nectar." The dragon begins. "Those that cannot be seen have the greatest advantage of all. But not only can they not be seen by others, but they eventually start to lose sight of themselves." He pauses again. "Written upon this are the words of life. Read them once, and learn what they have to teach." He pauses again. "Any arrow can lay low a foe. But any added power should be accepted, lest your ability be inadequate."
