The elf moves forward after partially hearing the conversation I'll gladly go with you, if only so I can hide my embarrassment. I am no druid, nor woodcutter but I do know my way around my wood. Come, let us go, I am certain you have other things to do than help us, but we appreciate it nonetheless!
With that, when Fallan was ready to go, he would move with her to show her what they would need. It only takes a few minutes before a prime target is located and just needs proper trimming. Right there, that one should work its almost perfect aside from the bole, but I can work that out. If you would do the honors Miss... uh?
When the pair leaves Rose waits for a moment before saying Well, since we are stopped, I'm going to make a quick pit stop to the woods. Too much hydration if you know what I mean. She winks at the party and heads off in the vaguely same direction as Fallan and the elf with intent to keep an eye on the pair, nervous about Fallans message.
Bell waves as her friend head off and hops over to a stop next to the dwarven fellow. "Sooo... where you guys headed?" she asks as she watches whatever preparations the dwarf is making.

The dwarf was getting out nails, hammers, and files, and other such gear in preparation. Ah, we're headin' to Neverwinterbut will be stopping at New Thundertree. We heard it got back on it's feet in the last year or two, so we're sating our curiosity, potentially making some coin if they'll trade in furs and metals. What about you folk? When you're not terrorizin folk! he says in what would be, to most, a clear jest. The human simply sighing, obviously a glass-half-empty type.

Root can’t help but laugh when the elf points out he’s good with his wood. “Haha I see what you did there.” Root will stretch as the others go out to get wood. “What were your names again?” Ask those that stayed behind.
"Fallan is my name." she responds to the elf. "I'm sure you have one as well? Want to share?"
She accepts the axe from Rose and hefts it more easily than might have been thought, belying a physical strength in the halfling that was here-to-fore unknown. The size differential did make the scene a little comical and sometimes seemed a bit awkward, but as if she were a little lumberjack, Fallan nodded her head towards the woods at the elf and started to walk.

"I see no reason to kill an entire tree. And just a branch would be fine, as long as the branch isn't too high up. Lead on, and show me what you think you need and we'll get you, your fellows, and your wagon on your way as quickly as we can."
Seeing the branch selected by the elf, Fallan brings the axe behind her head and proceeds to do her best to sever the branch from the trunk as requested.

The elf wasn't sure what Root was talking about and gives him a quizzical look as he headed out with Fallan to go collect the wood, as the elf hadn't been making a joke, but perhaps the Dragonborn knew something that he didn't? The elf having left before Root's followup question.
The dwarf looks somewhat surprised at the revelation from Bell, bot purses his lips and nods approvingly. as he fiddles with his tools, getting them ready for whatever was about to happen, laying out the nails and connectors he'd need. Oh really now? That's a shock. Didn't expect to run into the saviors of Thundertree on our way, let alone be assisted by them. But if ye've been there, do you know if they have a wagon merchant there? I fear we'll need an actual replacement once we get there. This'll just be a patch job afterall. he says, standing up and rubbing his brow, as some stress leaves his face and he rests against the wagon, looking up to the sky.
But our names? We're nothing special. Mine is Jack Springheel. the human said, before the Dwarf followed up. And mines Gildar Rocksucker. Please don't make fun o' the last name... Ye can't choose what clan you're born into.... he sighs, as Jack chuckles a bit at his expense but stops not long after if only so as to not sour his friendship with the dwarf. I'll never get over that name though... Atleast your last name makes it seem like you got some pep in y'er step lad! Mine just sounds like we're retards, or perverts! I dunno why I stick with you two! Especially after those three halflings left off with that ring... ugh...
Mean while, with Fallan
No. I don't think I will. the elf says with a bit of mirth on his face, allowing the air to be still between them a moment before continuing. My name is Sin Clare. I used to live in Cormanthyr until I met my travelling companions, and since then, we've been fighting a lot of small orc bands just to get where we are. eventually stumbling across the piece of wood in question, where Fallan takes a swing at it. But even to Fallan's surprise the axe goes clearly through it with almost no resistance in a single stroke, like a hot iron through solid butter, and the cut was almost pristine and perfect as the wood slipped from it's perch, and landed on the ground with a thud. The wood weeping almost immediately as sap poured out of it. If Fallan didn't know any better, she would almost think the tree's were leaning away from her to get away from it, though that's crazy.
Even the elf look surprised, standing in shock for a moment You are.. quite strong.. I mean I never doubted you would be but cutting through a branch that thick... in a single stroke is unheard of! That's amazing.... as the elf spoke on, in elated dumbfounded banter, a wind blows through the tree's and once more, Fallan hears a voice in her head. Strike the elf now... while he can't hurt you... he brought you out here to kill you! You must strike before he does.. he is lulling you into a false sense of security... Hurry Fallan! Take his life!
"Yeah, sometimes I even amaze myself with the damage I can do unintentionally,"Fallan says with just a slight undercurrent that might be taken as a veiled threat. Then, looking up, she shook her head vigorously as if to clear her mind of an annoying thought.
"Ok, so I can likely drag this 'new axel' behind me. You lead the way back to the wagon. If you go ahead of me, I should be able to see if you see any 'gotcha vines' or potential tripping roots, etc. I'll keep up with you as we hurry along, lest anything we're not interested in should find us or happen to us out here."
She slings the axe over one shoulder and hefts the branch underhanded on her other side and starts stepping in the direction from whence they had come - directing Sin ahead of her.
Assumjng Rose remained unseen she simply observes Fallan and the elf curiously. Fallans warnin about a voice in her head concerned the cleric yet as far as she could tell everything seemed normal. She would continue to follow and observe the pair in secret ready to intervene if something happened.
Bell taps her chin. "Hmmm... not sure if we have a wagon merchant, but you're welcome to stay a bit if you can work further repairs yourself or somethin'." Bell does in fact manage not to snicker at the dwarf's name, but when they mention a stolen ring, her eyes narrow- her stolen heirloom being one of her driving motivations, she's empathetic to similar plights of others. "You had a ring stolen? Was it something important?"

Fallan continues shaking her head vigorously as they head back to the wagon. She keeps her eyes on the elf ahead of her, but also looks for any sign of Rose in the surrounding woods and brush. Without being able to make visual contact with her, she complains far more loudly than necessary: "Damned Head Gnats - always buzzing around and making noises in your head... Sin, let's step this out as quickly as possible - getting out of the woods should help clear my head!"
The elf looks back curiously at Fallan, asking A-are you Okay? And sure.. if you think you can move faster with both the axe and the tree part..... Let us be on our way then... he says, starting to run at a 'slow' pace, so as not to leave Fallan behind, and it takes only another two minutes to rejoin the others. Meanwhile, Fallan starts to feel a heaviness on her lungs, not effecting her actual breathing but in the same effect that a 'dream run' has when no matter how fast you try to run, you don't actually move sort of way. It recedes once she joins the others, but likely it will become harder to resist the call from now on.
Rose comes out of the woods shortly after saying Much better and ah what great timing. Welcome back Fallan. Rose approaches and pats Fallan on the back, giving her a wink. I see you picked out quite the branch. Now hopefully our new friends can get their repairs underway.
"Yes, why, yes, Sin here did a great job selecting what we needed and in my tiny little brain, I would say there is nothing better that we could have found out there."Returning the wink, although, with a slightly pained aspect to it, Fallan accepts Rose's complement and is thankful for her help. Fallan returns the large axe to her fellow halfling for proper storage in the magical bag she carries. "It would appear that Root and the others are set up for repairs, so I'll stay out of their way." She drags the branch to where the "repairfolk" can do their thing.

Once setup with the branch, the group takes a saw, and other tools to carve, cut, fix, and fit the necessary part. In total it takes -between the three of them- about an hour to fix it, and though it's clearly patchwork, it also looks firm and strong enough that it could hold for atleast fifty miles before they might need to re-repair it.

Barring anything you would all like to say to them... which do feel free to respond, below is simply what happens after.
Continuing along the trail, an hour behind schedule goes peacefully for the rest of the day. Setting up for camp to rest, Rose takes the first watch after you all eat your meals for the night, with Root settling in nearby once the horses are tied to a small sapling of a tree, and the cart settled. The night starts off as peaceful as anyone could expect, warm, comfortable with the warmth of a smoldering but present fire. The camp had been setup just off the road in open space, since the tree's were miles behind, and the only thing nearby were hills that slowly became mountains.
Rose was likely praying to Selune, when in the distance, she heard the thundering of feet on dirt, coming from multiple sources in the same direction. A battlecry starting to be let out that sounding like a mixture of the howling of some canine, garbled with aggressive, humanoid growls and grunts. Thanks to Selune's blessing, Rose could easily see in the darkness as the small pack was charging forward. Though luckily for her they were still some distance away when they revealed themselves, giving her time to wake the others up.
In front, Gnolls riding Hyena's were starting to fan out, moving at a swift pace as they seemed to be preparing to 'circle' the camp. behind them, in seeming formation were several gnolls on foot in a V pattern. The wings of this pattern were crazed looking gnolls that seemed to be slobbering perpetually. And trailing in the back, was a gnoll who's body looked physically stronger than the rest, muscles almost literally bulging with veins, but signs of intelligence in it's grin as it clearly looked forward to an easy slaughter.
Most of the gnolls are too far away to be of any combat effectiveness, however, as Rose notices the pack, she does notice the ones riding the Hyena's are carrying longbows, just as the sound of three whistling missiles come her way.
The first one misses, the bolt landing in the side of the cart near Fallan though not hitting her. The second one isn't held properly, and when the bowstring snaps to send it flying, it instead Flips rapidly like a frisbee, and in an attempt to catch it, the gnoll leans over too far, and all of his arrows spill out on the ground as he cries out in frustration. The third however, barring some shielding spell sinks into her shoulder with a dull, fleshy thud.
Rose is up. Anyone who gets woken up by her will have a turn, but only half movement speed on it to due to needing to stand. Every square is 5 feet. There are a total of 12 enemies, 3 of them are currently mounts. The cart can be used as half or full cover by Halflings, and half cover by Root or Bell. 3 people can be inside the cart at once. The rocks are large enough to use as partial cover, but remember, the mounted ones are 'circling'. The moon is bright enough, that no one is suffering from inability to see. No one is surprised.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Rose turns to run for the cart while calling out to the others Time to wake up we have company! Rose would then duck into the cart with Fallan, making sure she woke up as well as using it as cover. Putting a hand on Fallans shoulder Rose says Archers in the back? Think you can sneak up behind them and take them out. I'll make sure Selûne hides you in her shadow. If Fallan agrees Rose casts invisibility on Fallan.
If Fallan refuses or otherwise wishes to remain in cover ill instead hold a toll the dead for whichever enemy gets in range first (dc 15 wish save or 4 damage)

Bell handsprings up quickly but is unfortunately still tucked cozily into her bedroll, and fiddles with it for a moment before being able to move tactically. She takes cover behind the rock just outside the tent and takes out the Wand of Magic Missile. After a cursory glance at the situation, Bell raises her hand up, holding the wand high as she releases the magic, casting Magic Missile at 6th level, sending out 8 darts. 4 seek out H1 and 4 seek out H3. "Dangit! And I was in the middle of a great dream, too! Eat this you jerks!"

Occassional Dungeon Master.
Action: Cast Magic Missile at 6th level @H1 (11) and @H3 (18
Bell handsprings up quickly but is unfortunately still tucked cozily into her bedroll, and fiddles with it for a moment before being able to move tactically. She takes cover behind the rock just outside the tent and takes out the Wand of Magic Missile. After a cursory glance at the situation, Bell raises her hand up, holding the wand high as she releases the magic, casting Magic Missile at 6th level, sending out 8 darts. 4 seek out H1 and 4 seek out H3. "Dangit! And I was in the middle of a great dream, too! Eat this you jerks!"
