Fallan looks nervous and uncertain about what is going on, but seeing her friends' stance, she creates a pair of psychic daggers in her hands and keeps her head on a swivel. Looking up, down, and all around, she is as prepared as she can be for what is next.
The tremors start to spook the horses, and Root tries to keep them under control, but is unable to, and the horses start to panic in their bridles before shooting forward, directly at Rose just as she finishes casting her spell. As the cart starts barreling forward Rose just barely manages to dive out of the way as it goes past her. while she returns to where she had been moments ago.
Bell and Rose preparing themselves, while Fallan kept watch out for what was going on since she felt there was little else she could do until the enemy revealed itself.
As everything was going on, the ground finally erupted from about twenty feet away, and a massive creature burst from the ground, leaving a large hole in it's wake. A brown cloaked rider on its back wearing a stone mask. The creature seeing it's prey (in this case Bell) it tensed its legs before suddenly leaping through the air with all the grace of a boulder-sized frog. As its shadow cast over her, blotting out the sun momentarily as Bell realized it was intending to land on her.. Despite the raw spring in her step, she hesitated just a little too long, and the thing came crashing down on her hard. Its sheer weight knocking her prone as it's large talons dig into her flesh, more by accident than intent.
It's massive jaws over Bells body. It's rider looks around, see's the "fleeing" cart but chooses to ignore it for more stationary targets, the brown robed rider pointing arcane sigils at Fallan and suddenly, a weapon appears in the shape of a craggy-pickaxe, before violently swinging at her. (You will get +2 ac for this round only for 'being observant")
Meanwhile, the cart had, luckily, managed to get out of range for a repeat stunt but that just meant Rose was once again in the cross-hairs, as similar to the first, a massive shark-like creature popped out of the ground a small distance away, only to leap at Rose as it did Bell. She fails to get out of the way by a few inches, and the massive claws slam her down to the ground as well, nearly shattering her body in the process as tons of weight slam her into the ground, shredding through her armor like butter as it dents inwardly.
Much like the rider on the other one, he looked around for any other targets, similarly ignoring the out of control Root on the cart as he continues to move slowly away. Unfortunately, this left Fallan as the only remaining target once more, and similarly another weapon similar to the last but a different overall visual aesthetic. Regardless, the weapon came down at her rapidly.. the point of the pickaxe like weapon piercing Fallan's shoulder deeply.
Then, one of the masked, robed men shouts to the group Give up, or become the soil for which our beasts will fertilize the great earth with. We promise you a swift death as sacrifice if you do not resist. But resist and our Bulettes shall feast on your flesh.
Bell and Rose are both prone and have both taken significant damage. Roots out of control, and may choose to make another AH check or abandon the cart. Fallan has two spiritual weapons near her, only one hit. Party is up.
Dazed from the attack Rose loses all sense of concentration on her spell and hardly hears the words of the thing speaking. Coming to she desperately tries to crawl out from under the beast above her 10 regardless if she is able to or not Rose quickly casts sanctuary on herself hoping to fend off a lethal blow.

Despite everything, happening, Rose draws upon Selune's might holding herself together and maintaining her concentration on her original spell, before further warding herself from attacks in a different sense. Though every bone in her body felt fragile in the same way a bare-skinned body feels when cannon-balling into water from a great height, just internally. Bleeding from several places, she still stands proud against the much larger creature as it didn't keep it's foot on her once it knocked her down.
Bell getting up similarly battered, if only momentarily, a bright flash of light illuminates the area as holy energy floods through Bell's body, healing most of, if not all of the damage she took, as her wounds close, and only a light sting remains. The brilliant aura flaring up still radiating from her even as she attempts to force the Rider to stop paying attention to Fallan, and instead face her. She can tell it worked as the robed rider slowly turned his head her way. The masks only missing piece revealed an insane grin plastered on his face, meaning the man was likely insane or disturbed in some way, the Bulette also turning to face Bell as the massive creature looked down on what it hoped would be its prey.
Root faces a tough decision, but decides that his friends lives are more valuable than a cart and a horse, and abandons it before it gets too far. landing not far from the back as the cart speeds off down the trail. Running at full Speed, Root charges towards the Bulette and the rider, easily jumping up the creatures side, using its arm as a 'ramp' as he unleashes two attacks at him, followed by another round of blows with his feet while he attempted to maintain his balance on the creatures back. Every single punch lands like a torrent and the last attack, a hard kick, attempts to knock the man off its mount near Rose.
The man manages to resist flying off, only to, moments later slump down, dead - falling slowly off the creatures back before Root is forced off the Bulette as it bucks him, attempting to dismount him all too late for its master.
Fallan, surrounded by weapons see's that her protectors are in trouble, and that they had both taken quite a bit of damage. Now perhaps this wasn't the wisest thing to do, but the enemy had revealed themselves and in a sudden burst of precision Root had just barely managed to kill one of the riders within a moment. Fallan charges forward, psychic daggers at the ready as she attempts to re-enact what Root had just accomplished. And in a yet another amazing feat of agility, Fallan trounces up the creatures leg like a handicap ramp, blades thirsty for the riders blood only for it to be unable to pierce the riders armor, but just as he was about to slap her with his hand, he found her trying to act like she was dancing to some unseen beat. (dodge BA)
After that odd display, Fallan found herself at the feet of the beast.
With it's rider dead, the Bulette is free to act on it's own and attempts to take a bite out of the morsel before it but finds itself muddled... and instead tries to take a bite out of Root. its massive jaws closing around his body and biting hard, bones crunching just a bit before it pulls back as it see's Root is still alive and able to fight back, much to it's chagrin, but much like Rose, he was now severely bleeding and on deaths door.
Mentally commanding his weapon to move forward -apparently un-phased by the death of his companion as he only says What has come from the earth, returns. You have chosen a painful death. The weapon just barely out of range to attack Bell or Fallan. His hand shoots out as the earth itself whispers all around Bell, and Bell can feel the grasp of something trying to hold her there but right now she feels some level of fury, excitement, or whatever her personal interest would be that allows her to utterly resist the effects of the spell.
The Bulette wants to attack Fallan, she would be so easy to gobble and swallow up.. but the rider forces it to face Bell again, and though annoyed, the creature listens as its massive jaws attempt to close in on Bell.
Party is up, Root is low but took out one of the robed figures. Rose's condition hasn't changed. Bell has taken no damage. Fallan is performing the Flamenco.
With some level of protection Rose lowers her hammer and leans against it briefly as she begins a prayer to Selûne, the pain all over her body screaming a reminder that she couldn't die, that she had a promise to keep to Gwen. As she finished her prayer and layed a hand on her chest a glow of holy energy ran though her body to help relief at least some of the pain. Once finished, and seeing Root looking rough, Rose would rush over to his side to help him. Don't worry big guy....they won't....be taking you out....just yet.. She said between gasps of breath.

Bell waves off Fallan. “If you hit him, it will end the spell I cast. Help Root and Rose, I can take this guy!” The satyr bound into the air, using the bulette’s body as a platform to attack the masked figure.
[Assuming that’s enough to kill the rider based on Root’s damage rolls.]
Rapier still skewering the rider, Bell returns his crazed grin. “I decided I would die a painful death a long time ago, it just won’t be today. Good fight, mate.” She pulls her Rapier from the Rider’s body and hops back down to the ground to face the Bulette head on.

The grin on her face from her self-satisfaction changed to a grim line of determination as she started pumping her short little hobbit legs toward the riderless beast nearly atop Rose. Hoping that the huge, armored thing was busy with Root, Fallan attempts to run up its back and try to bury her Psychic Blades into any chink in its armor or clean through it, if necessary.

Another light, this time of the velvety violet variety illuminates the area in a twilight sepulcher as most though not all of Root's wounds were healed. Only a few bloody gashes remaining as once more Root felt alive.
Bell wards off Fallan, telling her that attacking him will make the spell wear off, only to deliver a pair of jabs with a blinding burst of light from within to end the robed mans life herself making her statement .. as moot as the mans life. The insane defiance and doubt gave way to fear and death before he slid off his mounts body. Both Bulettes, now more or less wild, have still yet to leave as they look around, still seeing food available. It seems that whatever control the robed figures possessed over them, wasn't magical or otherwise coercion.
Since Fallan was already inches from the Bulette, dashing would most assuredly not be required. Though try as she might her strikes weren't nearly hard enough to pierce its flesh even with her psychically manifested daggers, if anything she hurt her wrist trying (fluff). And the creature didn't even seem to notice the strikes at all.
Root, newly revitalized, but wary of the massive, powerful creature now, plays a bit more cautiously. Tensing up his muscles, he looks at the thing before them and lets out a pair of punches, the second one a bit more inspired than the first
With the battlefield lines effectively drawn, it seemed that Bell and Fallan had one of the creatures, while Rose and Root had the other. When his first strike lands, he forces all the power he can muster into his wrist, and hitting that one spot with raw force. but the creature not only manages to resist the additional effects, it flat out avoids the next strike. But Root, being more cautious tries to be ready for the next attack.. preparing to dodge.
The bulette tries once more to bite the snack known as Rose, seeing her as the easier target to swallow but just can't shake whatever it was that was protecting the cleric. And its jaws clamp around Roots body once more, this time, sending their mind spiraling and fading to black, in what was a moment that Root thought he had avoided it.... The world going utterly black once more.
With Bell and Fallan, the Bulette also went after the easier to swallow target would be, its massive jaws biting at the halfling once she rolled off the other side of it's body, and barring some effect this would put the halfling down just barely.
Party is up. I feel this would be a good point to point out that everyone's had DM inspiration for a while. Root is down. Fallan might be down, barring uncanny dodge.
Bell's smile doesn't subside at first, as fighting against something trying to eat her is just as or more exciting than fighting against a sapient foe. Her expression sours though as she see her allies take big hits. (Assuming Fallan with uncanny dodge... no reason not to lol). She braces herself, summons magical energy to her rapier, and then darts in to make more strikes, intent on delivering powerful smites with both.

Rose just leans on her hammer catching her breath, seeming to ignore the Bulettes attacks entirely as she did so. When Root got bit and went down Rose sighed stand said No time for napping Root, come on get up now! Within the words was enough magic to hopefully get the monk back on his feet, but just in case Rose said another prayer to Selûne under her breath. For herself and all her allies within the aura she mentally commanded the aura to grant a measure of added protection.

Fully disappointed that the hide of the burrowing beast seemed to protect it from her Psychic Blades, the halfling would have been even more disappointed had she not seen the huge gaping maw of the monster about to engulf her. Not wanting to be fighting from inside the gullet of the thing, she barely dodges what could have been her end. However, the part of her that the Bulette did damage screamed at her in pain and made her realize that this might not be a fight she could win. Choosing the better part of valor, Fallan disengaged from the battle, hoping to put enough distance between herself and that mouth. If she was lucky, she might be able to still help Bell by throwing the daggers, if they ever might pierce the thing's skin.
"Yo! Bell, I think I gotta pull back. I don't wanna be a mini-snack for this thing. You got this?" she shouts to her partner in attack.

Bell's first attack doesn't have nearly enough force, and simply skids off the things shield-like head, however her second strike manages to slip into a weak spot, piercing it only to explode with divine energy from within as the Bulette howls out in pain as it's seared from the inside out but this only seems to make it more angry.
While Rose, still still somewhat hurt continued to pour out Selune's blessings onto Root keeping him up with atleast ten more hit points.
Root, launched another set of attacks, but apparently his right arm was more wounded than he thought, as his opening punch never seems to pack enough power, while his other arm seems to be capable, if only just barely to hit the creature, and cause very minor damage, before preparing to avoid more attacks. But he knew that if he fell one more time he would start to suffer death-exhaustion.
Fallans thrown attack simply bounces off the creatures body with a dull thud, before the thrown blade vanishes, ineffective after she moves away from the creature so as to not become a midday snack.
The bulette near the R's Once again tries to go for Rose... and whatever had been holding it back before it finally managed to overcome as its jaws fell over Rose's body, her just barely... barely managing to avoid it or block it.
With Bell and technically Fallan, the Bulette is now in a frenzy at Bell, who had shiskebobbed it from within, and it angrily takes a bite at her as well. and despite her best efforts, the jaws close around her midsection as razor teeth sink into flesh.
Bell cries out in pain, but by the end of the utterance it muddles into a laugh. “Ah, a real fight for survival. Survival of the fittest.” Her eyes sparkle with excitement. She lifts her rapier and attacks again.
Feeling that she now has a little breathing room, no matter how hard it may be to breathe after the last pounding she got from the Bulette, Fallan decides that the best she can do is to keep trying to hit the damned thing with one of her psychic daggers. She throws the remaining blade at the beast that Bell is fighting and then refills her hands with two more.
"You'd think these things would go home to momma after their riders were killed. How do we stop these buggers?" Fallan shouts to no one in particular.
Attack with the thrown blade; BA = Summon Psychic Blades; Reaction prepared = Cunning Dodge if attacked and hit.
Pain continues shoots through Bells arm more than she though as both her attacks fail to pierce the things hide once more, both attacks glancing off, the second one more than the first. This fight would likely be tougher than you all anticipated.
Most of Root's attacks are ineffective, but one of the punches lands hard enough to make the creature flinch for a moment though it didn't even seem close to wavering, a groaning roar the only response.
Once more, Fallan flings her dagger mostly in vain, as a dull thud hits the creatures body but fails to actually cause any harm.
A series of ideas flit through Rose's head but if she makes an offensive attack against the creature she'll lose her protection... Her hand once more reaches for Root, and that velvety energy leeches out and into him. And in a surprise turn of events, Selune's image flashes around her as a full strength heal courses through Roots body. Now confident he at-least stood a chance, and with Fallan within the sphere of radiance looking worse for wear, a pulse of violet energy makes its way to the halfling.
Once more, the near-full power of Selune flows through Rose and flows into Fallan, restoring at-least some of her energy, and closing the most grievous of wounds.
The bulette once more tries to make a snack of rose... but yet again, selune warded her charge from harm, unfortunately putting Root in its gaze, and despite all the odds, Root manages to avoid the attack entirely as its jaws clamp down on air, momentarily confused as it had yet to not chew on the dragonborn yet.
The other bulette's jaws just barely being deflected or avoided at the last moment.

This time an aura of twilight slowly spread from her tiny body and surrounded a large area around her (30ft). For herself and all her allies within the aura she mentally commanded the aura to grant a measure of added protection.

Felix Windfall(Human-V Lv.7 Rogue) killed in ToA, Vallan Houndstrider (Halfling Ghostwise Lv.1 Fighter) in DiAAttack: 21 Damage: 10 One thrown Psychic Blade
6 Sneak attack Damage if appropriate
Bonus Action - Disengage; Move to C13; Attack by throwing one Psychic Blade. Prepare Reaction to Uncanny Dodge if attacked and hit.

Party is up.

Root and Bell both have a single DAO vs their respective Bulettes.
