[😂Yes, I was aware of that. I'm just going to gauge how kind the barmaid is going to be. ]
"Well, sweetie, there are some private rooms in the back. Normally, you've gotta book them through Madame Hogstout," she tilts her head to the well dressed woman, "but a generous tip might force me to recheck the ledger. "
Tiladen looks at the band of adventurers and sits down with them and ordered a drink from the barmaid as well. "What brings you to this place after all?" he asks not anyone in the group specifically.
Scottie, not wanting to divulge too much information yet will simply say, "We're looking for an old man who has two little kids, a boy, and a girl, with him."
Erik turns from the barmaid to the Tiefling beside him, bowing his head as sign of respect. "Milady, might I inquire of your name?" Erik was interested in learning more about this group, hoping they could be trusted to help him.
Too many terrible things had been done here...something had to be done.
"Well, I'm sure we can find something for our more generous patrons." The barmaid curtsies, drops the coin in her apron and saunters down the hall. She leads to group to a private room just behind the stage at the back. You all sit in the cramped space and she gets you another round of ale for the table.
"Good evening, everybody," said a sultry voice, "My name is Madame Hogstout and I'd like to welcome you to the Twisted Sister. Our dancers are just gonna take a moment to cool off, but in the meantime, you have the privilege of hearing my velvety voice for a bit. and if you don't like it, you can get the hell out 'cause I own this joint."
The crowd erupts with laughter and the music starts.
As the music is playing and Erik strikes up a conversation, the tiefling turns to him with a smile.
"My name is Aliira. I hope you won't find me too rude when I say that our mission is a very sensitive one. I'd like to hear your background before I divulge any information about why we are here."
Aliira eyes the Eldarin. "Are you telling me as an act of kindness or aggression? What is your name? Who are you?"
"Caution is an admirable quality in this town." Erik says softly to the lovely Tiefling. "I will not find it rude if you offer me the same courtesy, as my mission is a bit of a sensitive one as well...but I can tell you that I was born with noble blood, though never openly acknowledged as such. I spent most of my life on the streets...and it would be a lie to say I have never stolen to survive. Oddly enough something stolen led me on this current course. I travel far and wide...putting things right that have gone wrong, hoping one day to return home..."
Erik realized he had rambled on a bit, perhaps divulging more then he should have...but something in his gut told him he could trust this woman.
"Well," Aliira cleared her throat, "We are refugees from the Kingdom of Midgard [calling it the kingdom doesn't come naturally to Aliira since her uncle is the newly appointed Emperor. It is common knowledge, even in Ishbrae, that Emperor Leucis has overthrown the kingdom and it is now known as the Capital of the Tiefling Empire.] We are looking for our companions: an old man named Braithe and two human Lerissa and Mordai; despite their tiefling names, they are human. Have you seen them?"
As you open the door to the Inn, Braithe is enjoying a meal with the children, Vartok the purple turantula, dances in the middle of the table for their entertainment. The children run up and hug you all; but they do notice the absence of most your crew.
"Where is Haven?" asks Mordai.
"And what about Suzie?" asks Lerissa. "Please tell me nothing has happened to them."
"What took you so long?" Braithe chuckles. "And I see we have some new travellers with us, which might come in very handy given what seems to be happening within our ranks."
You share some food and drink on Braithe's tab. Now around midday, a commotion breaks out outside at the Viceroy's Mansion. You can hear shouting and a crowd of people outside the building.
"Well, sweetie Suzie had to leave in order to complete some of her priestly duties. Unfortunately, she won't be traveling with us anymore. And Haven, well, Haven is with her." Scottie will tell the children but will give Braithe a look that says that there is something more.
Erik was silent as they made their way towards the residential district. He had barely met these people...but he felt glad that they had found who they were looking for. A momentary pain of sadness passed Erik's face as his thoughts turned towards his family, but he shook the thoughts away.

Scottie, not sure how much he can trust this individual yet, will simply tell him
“Our friends arrived at the Isle earlier and we’re just hoping to meet up with them?”
"Oh well perhaps I have seen them already. who are your friends?" he asks

" I am afraid I have not seen anyone matching that description altogether that is."

"Really," Aliira eyes him. "What are there names?"
Scottie is on edge, not sure how it feels about all this but it looks like this guy might be there best shot at finding the kids.
“Take us to them. If you’re lying or this is a trap I know of a spider in the sewers that would love a snack like you.”
