Seeing Arvidsjaur getting ready to play for the seedy tavern Haven ventures over producing a flute. "Mind some accompaniment?" he asks running through a short trill of notes. d20+5 = 11
While Braithe is talking he will be paying very close attention, trying to figure out how King Thedas was as a leader, and absent mindedly petting Vartok if he is nearby. When Braithe is done speaking Scottie will say "I feel like I can trust you. I came here hoping to see King Thedas in order to know how he ruled so that I may one day go back to my tribe and be a proper leader for them. So, I must ask how was he as a ruler? How was he as just a man?"

Mara walks over to a couple of drunks and begins to chat. She also proposes a friendly game with her dice and asks, "Now, which one of you is going to buy me a drink?" as she flashes her prettiest smile.
Haven gets up and performs a bard about the hanging on King Thedas and the tegedy of his family's murder entitled The Naked King. The patrons listen, but show no sign of enjoyment, though these are not high society people; you don't expect much.
"He was a kind ruler," Braithe answers, "but a ruler must know when to be kind and when to rule with an iron fist. There is a time for emotion and a time for cold hearted tactics."
The drunks in the corner need no persuasion and immediately take Mara up on a dice game.
Scottie will listen but not comment on Braithe description of King Thedas. Instead, he will simply nod and file away his words for later reflection. Because now is not a time for reflection but a time to simply enjoy the moment of peace. Scottie will just relax and watch the bards play. Unless anyone wants to talk to Scottie or discuss how we are going to exit the city he will go upstairs to bed when the bards are finished performing.
"Well Braithe, there's not much for me to tell. My father's a minor noble really just an elevated merchant her night his title. My older brother was groomed to take over the business and i was just expected to keep quite and act right." during his story Haven orders some ale and after seeing it loses it to Braithe instead. "I took off, wanting to make my own way. But ago far haven't done shoo weekat that."
Scottie will go stiff when Braithe asks that. He likes the old man but does not yet know if he trusts him enough to answer such a personal question. However, Braithe did share some personal information with him so he would feel guilty if he didn't at least provide some sort of answer. Scottie will sigh deeply then tell Braithe "I'm traveling in order to learn how to be the best leader possible for my tribe and I'm not allowed to return unless I know what it truly means to be a ruler. If I return before then I will be banished from my tribe. I'm scared though that I'll never learn what a true leader is and never be able to return.

Mara plays a couple rounds of games hoping the drunks are too far gone to notice her weighted dice. After winning a round against both, she asks, "Like, I said, fellas, which one of you is buying me a drink? Another round of the game?"
While distracted playing the game, she attempts to pickpocket one of them. If it goes well, she'll go for the other.
Sleight of hand: 15, if successful, again on the other drunk: 25
"Gee, boy, you're a real lightweight," Braithe chuckled, slapping Haven on the shoulder. "One ale and you'll tell anyone your problems. "No no, I'm just taking the piss, kid. That must've been tough."
Then Scottie tells what Braithe suspects is a very guarded version of his problems.
"You're a born leader, Scottie, and don't let anybody tell you otherwise. You have something Thedas never had. You know how to make the tough decisions."
Mara plays two rounds of dice games with the drunks at another table and wins both, but after the second time, her womanly charm wears off. [Mara won 2 gold.]
Back at the table, Braithe has had more than a few drinks as he eyes off Isuzu. "What's her problem?! Sitting at another table like that. We deserved the shrew's company when we were escaping."
Arvidsjaur's joyful tunes bring in a slow but steady stream of patrons. As the hours pass, the tavern is packed with patrons. An uncharacteristic smile is plastered over the goblin bartender's face.
"Thanks for saying that"Scottie will tell Braithe and pat him on the back in a friendly manner. "Now I've had a long day so I'm going to get a room and retire for the night. Tomorrow we will figure out how to get out of this mess. I might have a few more tricks tomorrow for dealing with people and concealing ourselves a little." With that Scottie will make sure to say goodnight to everyone.
Arvidsjaur listens in around the tavern and though he hears the odd grumble about tieflings, there is nothing noteworthy. The men and women of this bar are more worried about gambling, drinking and screwing their money away.
Scottie says goodnight to everybody and retires upstairs. Braithe stumbles upstairs shortly after.
[Let me know if we're going through any areas too quickly for you.]
The whole party crams themselves into the room Arvidsjaur was promised. When he locks the door behind him, it becomes apparent that this room is a trash room. Two dilapidated beds are collapsed against either wall. The adventurers all pile on top of each other like a pride of lions. [Take a long rest]
As the early hours of the morning roll in, Arvidsjaur sits in the darkest corner and watches the coming and goings of the patrons who refuse to leave. There is a man complaining to the bartender.
"She left me," he slurs. "She left me for some noodle-dick bard that swept her off her feet. I can't wait to see her in ten years when her bard gets old and fat and she's turning tricks to pay the bills. Bet you her broody thirty year old won't be so great then."
"I'll take care of you, buddy," A woman staggers up to the man. "Looking's free but touching will cost you."
"**** off, Strumpet Sally. Go home. You're drunk."
Another woman sits at a table by herself, muttering: "It's all gone. They took it all. It's all gone."
Arvidsjaur is so intent on watching these barflies, he doesn't notice when a 6'2" tiefling walks in. Her goat-like horns pin back her silver hair. A red cloak draped over her shoulders. She is sitting in the corner, observing the room just as Arvidsjaur is. Finally, she stands and makes her way to the bar.
"Goblin," she snaps her fingers. "Have you seen any peculiar people around this establishment?"
"They're all peculiar round here."
The tiefling woman upends a bag of gold coins from a purse. The goblin smirks at her. He flings a pointed hand at Arvidsjaur. "That one. He came with a band of peculiars. They're all upstairs."

When Scottie awakens he will first observe that Arvidsjaur is no longer in the room. He'll just assume that he is downstairs. Scottie will then proceed to meditate in order to change around his spells. After a couple minutes of meditation, he will don all his gear and proceed downstairs looking for Arvidsjaur, and some food, in order to start planning their escape.
[Sorry about that. It's late here and my zonked out brain just overlooked that glaringly obvious detail.]
Arvidsjaur sees the goblin pointing in his direction, but he is in fact pointing to Scottie, who has come down the stairs behind him looking for his bard friend. Scottie notices his friend's posture and assumes he is in disguise. A little bleary eyed, he only notices the tiefling woman when he reaches the bottom of the stairs.
[Don't worry about a tired brain. It's 7:45 am where I'm at and I haven't gone to bed because I've been reading the Tomb of Annihilation module all night.]
As soon as Scottie sees the Tiefling woman he is going to use Hidden Step to turn invisible and make his way back up to the room. As soon as he gets into the room he is going to lock the door behind him and start waking everyone up.
