Dench frowns along with Sir Gadston at the idea of working for this being. "Why do you need this blood? What other arrangement might we make for the book?" he asks. He doesn't step into the room. He will see if he can perceive the trap he is sure is there: 22.
"He asks for one, yet offers many. It would appear the chance of failure is high. And what guarantee will we be given?" Direcris keeps his voice low, almost talking to himself.
The voice calls down again sounding increasingly irritated. "It is not the creature we have trouble with but the warding on the building that keeps out the undead. My desires are none of your concern. Take the deal or do not, I do not care; you are free to stay regardless."
Dench doesn't see any obvious traps from where he is.
"That tears it." Gadston says. "Any place that keeps out the undead isn't a place I want to go and break it's barrier for some unseen, unknown voice. I will not be an instrument for evil to get gain." Gadston lifts his shield up and slowly advances.
Direcris moves to stop Gadston. "The voice says there is nothing to worry about in the room. But there are other rooms in the dark. We should keep them in mind."
"And you suddenly trust a disembodied voice that has a vampire as a servant?" Gadston says as his eyes narrow a bit, suspicious that Direcris could be under some spell.
"Careful m'lud, lets not argue amongst ourselves. I'm sure we all are of a resolve not to serve this foul thing that tries to command us. As soon as we find something we can fight, we shall fight, and we shall prevail!", Uri urges Gadston.
"Why would I trust that? I merely say to not concentrate solely on this room. This may be safe, but," he nods to the vampire with the vials, "other rooms may have other surprises."
Dench will stand with one foot inside and room and one outside. He is wary. "We are not convinced, dear host, that acting as you suggest is wise or good. What can you tell us that might convince us otherwise? How will we know that you keep promises?"
"You offer hospitality, even after we have killed your servants. Interesting." Direcris walks to the door and puts his ear to the crack where it meets the frame. Perception: 17
Dench says, "I would rather not sleep inside tonight." He pauses. "Given what we know about the smaller structure, we don't want to attack it. At least some of us are hesitant to do so." He speaks much more loudly. "Good host? Would you be a great host? Then let us meet, face-to-face."
He will step farther into the room with the open door.

Sir Gadston
Gadston seems a bit uneasy at this moment. "We are starting to do the same as we did about going through the front door. I am not the wisest or smartest but either we are delaying too much or we are being delayed." Gadston says. Gadston makes his way to the silent door. He will touch it with his sword first then, if nothing bad happens he will place his ear against it and listen.

Gadston frowns. "We are now working for something that has vampire servants?" he quietly asks.

(How many doors can Uri see in the hallway? Perception: 26)

Uri makes eye contact with Direcris, subtlety nodding towards the vampire with a discreet throat-slitting motion (sleight of hand: 24).

Death on the Water and Baldur's Gate Bodyguard
(There are two doors to your left, the first one open and lit, and one door to your right where the vampire emerged.)
The vampire sets the tray down and retreats back through the door, closing it.
Again the voice chuckles, "You don't, you have to take me on ... faith."
"You offer hospitality, even after we have killed your servants. Interesting." Direcris walks to the door and puts his ear to the crack where it meets the frame. Perception: 17
Direcris can hear the clanking of bottles and scraping of metal in the room to the right.
Direcris frowns and turns to the others. "Bottles and metal being moved about. Either as a human servant would, or..."
He moves toward the other closed door and does the same. 19
"You offer comfort for the night, then the morn will see us leave? Is that your intention, voice? Might we have a name to put to this voice?"
Persuasion if needed: 17

The other closed door seem quiet.
The voice calls back, "You may call me Father Cyran. I will not come down but I would permit one of your party to come up to see me."
