(No worries, this process just helps characters form bonds individually before all grouping together and it gives a potential "buddy" system so the character doesn't feel like they're the only newbie and they have someone more comfortable to bounce things off of)
The waiter turns to the direction you indicated and being that there are mostly halflings in the establishment at this time it's fairly easy to guess the subject of your interest. "The lady at the table I presume? I haven't personally served her, but I do know that she was here when my shift came around last night and rented one of our rooms, beyond that she seems quiet and nice, but I'm afraid that's all the knowledge I have on her. Would you be wanting a drink by chance? I would be happy to get you anything you'd like"
(Sorry this has taken so long. I've been really busy!)
Colt smirks playfully, and begins to subconsciously twiddle his earring in thought. Seems nice, eh? Maybe I'll check her out myself. New faces are always fun.
A sudden intake of breath marks his determination. He calls across the counter to the waitress, but his eyes never stray from Valzes' back as she leaves the tavern. 'I'll take a Dwarven Stout, pet.' Tipping the barmaid generously (1sp extra), he nimbly slips off of the barstool (it rocks precariously) and makes his way out of the tavern to pursue his intrigue's quarry.
The poor barmaid, she must be very confused....Colt completely forgets about his ale, and leaves without it;)
The closer to the inner city that you get the older the buildings are, and very well kept. The newer buildings tried to mimic the architecture but there were clear differences in materials and even the intricacies. It's a long walk from outer middle city to the inner towers with a lot of shops in between.
You both continue through the night towards the address on the card taking note of businesses along the way, including another guild's sign. It takes about an hour to make the walk. (If there is discussion that would occur during the trip between you two, insert here).
As you head out the barmaid returns with your stout to notice you're absence, she shrugs and leaves it there. Once outside you see Valzes heading south east towards the gradual incline that leads towards the inner city.

Colt moves confidently towards Valzes. 'Hullo there. You caught my eye back in the tavern...I don't recognize you from around these parts. What's your business here, then?'

Hi there! I'm a Christian musician based in Canada :)
Valzes is startled by the sudden greeting from a half-elf. "Oh! Hello." Valzes quickly observes the man in front of her, then she smiles and says. "My name's Valzes. You can call me Val. How about yours?" She raises her hand to Colt. "I'm just checking the town. Now I want to check that building." She points to the building with the glyph.

Colt grins back at the tiefling, and reaches out his hand to shake hers. 'A pleasure, Val. Pardon my silent approach, but understand....' Colt frowns as he adds 'I don't lay eyes upon your type very often. I go by Colt, and I'm involved in a ...clique, of sorts, in this area.'
Colt's eyes come to rest upon the building with the glyph. Does he know the place at all (history of 14 if needed)? 'Mhm. Please forgive my curiosity, but...what do you want in there?'
Valzes shrugs her shoulders and casually says, "Nothing! I’m just curious. I saw that glyph in one of the books I read. You see, I'm an archeologist or used to be, so I can't pass away a chance to study something like this."
Belch looks around at the shops and buildings as they travel, "Mmmany guilds here," he says to Nissa as they pass the other guild's sign, "Mmmuch business? Hopefully we acquisition our next place soon. Darkness growing, mmm."
You know that the building she is referring to is one of the oldest in Sharn, and that it was connected to the old order and King before from before the war over a century ago, but you don't know the names of the king, the old order, or the glyph itself.
Jinn glances at Nebulas. He had been so caught up in examining Aegis he barely noticed anyone get near. "Yes! That could be very beneficial if we get a difficult task! Or maybe they would offer a more difficult task with a larger force asking? Hmmm... we would have to see what the pay for a single person would be compared to splitting the pay up for a larger task. Then of course I would have to examine the time it would take. I could possibly do two solo tasks in the same time. Yes, yes we will have to see about this." You realize Jinn was no longer speaking to Nebulas after the first sentence or so, and watch as he makes several notes on scratch paper and puts them into different places in his clothing, completely ignoring everyone else now.
The Drow female lifts her head to gaze upon you, and you see her bright red eyes beneath dark lashes fix upon yours then look you over. "Well met Baylen, you are certainly full of questions now aren't you?" she says with a small smirk in the corner of her full dark lips. As she continues to speak you find it hard to pull your attention away from her lips [make a wisdom saving throw] "My name is Priestess Dahlia Barrison Del'Armgo, but members of this little club are allowed to call me Dahlia for simplicity's sake... And this guild does have quite the reputation that I've worked very hard to build over the past 9 years, so please be mindful not to sully it, as I would not take well to that news.... You appear to be a few shades light of skin... I take it you were born on the surface then?"
Wisdom Save: 18
“Well met Dahlia. Rest assured that it is my highest priority to be a benefit to the Mystic Helix.
My own origins are unknown to me; though I have long suspected that I was born on the surface. I have certainly lived among humans for as long as I can remember, but I have often been curious about my elven ancestry.
Do you mind if I sit with you while I wait for the meeting to begin?”
"Well if you all are ready, we can make our way over to the guild hall and you can take a look around" Sig says. "But no rush of course, I had the day off, so nowhere to be in a hurry"
Her smirk fades, and for the briefest moment you notice a look of surprise and... perhaps something else, before a genuine smile curves her lips before she speaks, "Well well... you seem to have more fortitude than I initially gave you credit for. Also manners, which are unfortunately in short supply after the war, as though everyone has forgotten such a simple aspect of society"
she takes a sip of her rose colored drink, "Never-the-less, it is good to hear your priorities fall the same as my own, that means I don't have to block your entrance if you are accepted in. Most who walk through those doors for the first time and decide to approach me have very different intentions, and find themselves... well... let us not darken the mood any further, as this is a big day for you!" she gestures to the chair across the round table from hers inviting you to sit.
"Now then, it is all too common to hear of those who do not know their ancestry, with a century long war across the lands it's to be expected, but that does not mean it can't be found if you find the right clues and seek it out." She looks you over more carefully before adding, "I would say it is not simply a matter of you being born on the surface, as there are other clues you may find in yourself, such as not having quite the point to your ears as most elves do, along with your lightened skin, your broader build, your height, as well as the color of your eyes... yes, I would say you are certainly half Drow, however the other half is less certain, though you say you remember living with humans as long as you remember and a Drow and human mingling could certainly have the results you see in a mirror... humans are quite capable of mating and procreating with almost anything that allows them to, as proven my countless bards" She takes another moment for her drink.
"This does come as a trade-off typically, and one you should be aware of, as knowing your limits can only make you wiser. Being half-Drow means you likely aren't as strong in some of our innate magics, however humans have an ingenuity and resourcefulness unlike any other race... so my advice? Test your limits constantly, which with your Drow abilities I may be able to help with at some point, but first you need to feel them out on you own."
Belch looks around at the shops and buildings as they travel, "Mmmany guilds here," he says to Nissa as they pass the other guild's sign, "Mmmuch business? Hopefully we acquisition our next place soon. Darkness growing, mmm."
"Shouldn't be much longer,"Nissa says. "and the lights should be turning on soon."
Nissa nods, "Ya... let's keep going," she continues to where the address says.
