You all finish gathering your thinks and downing the last remnants of any drink you had left before following Sig & Aegis out of the tavern and due west towards the towering spires of inner city. The streets are extremely packed as this is one of the primary market districts of Sharn Sig informs you, and you notice that while others are having to weave though the crowds, they part for your group. It doesn't appear to be fear that causes this, but a sense of respect as the faces in the crowd still carry smiles and some people even wave. One child even runs out to Sig as if it's common routine, Sig comments to you all, "Just a moment" and scoops him up and sets him atop Aegis where the kid locks his arms around the great beast's neck as the mastiff wiggles a bit to make the child giggle before trotting around the group a few times to give the boy a ride before he hops down and runs back to his mother with the biggest smile across his face.
Eventually the crowd thins as you make it to the edge of the market, and you notice a commotion at the entrance to an arcane shop, where a well dressed and snobby looking human lady with medium length hair is yelling at what appears to be the shop worker and demanding a discount for her wait. As your group makes it's way nearer, the shop worker notices you and the lady turns her head following his gaze as if disgusted that he would look away from her. When she registers the audience she stiffens, turns to the worker and apologizes, and then quickly moves along down the street. You aren't sure if this was simply in response to an audience in general or a specific person.
The path breaks away from buildings and leads through a narrow opening between large walls just wide enough for a wagon to pass through and ascends gradually for 30 or so feet before opening into the brightest area of the city with smooth white stone walls with ancient carvings that seemed to tell a story as you walk of battles long past between demons and armored figures. There are ornate signs at every building, many are offices and very high-end merchants, but then you see a very large sign of solid wood with burning aqua letters that shine even in the midday sun and reads clearly "Mystic Helix" above a very ornate arched doorway holding 2 very large and sturdy looking wooden doors.
Sig says "And here we are, home sweet home", then knocks on the door and it opens immediately and without assistance. As it does, a light washes over you and causes some disorientation and blurs your vision for just the briefest of moments before you feel normal again {Roll an arcana check}. Once your vision comes back into focus you have to track many things going on at once. The room beyond the door is massive with many tables off to the right and a large bar beyond that, all filled with an assortment of different races with seeming to be enjoying downtime together, laughing, arm wrestling, and conversing as though it wasn't about to be dawn. To your left is a large desk with 4 people behind it assisting a line of people. Behind the desk is a wide set of stairs leading to a large balcony that curves entirely around the circumference of the room. Straight ahead of you and to the back of the room is a very large board with many individual papers pinned to it. There is no visible fireplace but the room feels very warm and inviting. At this point you've been standing in the doorway for a few moments taking everything in.]
smiling at the child, Ayo is silent for most of the journey. as he sees the snobby woman, he glares at her. "those kind of people will be the end of Sharn"
feeling self-conscious, the shadows behind Ayo start to congress around him, so much he nearly disappears. noticing his slip up, he touches a point on his chest, and the shadows recede.

Magical street lamps flicker on all along the road and light your way as you travel the short path remaining to the upper level. As you reach the plateau you see magical street lamps even more frequently which highlight smooth white stone walls with ancient carvings that seemed to tell a story as you walk of battles long past between demons and armored figures. There are ornate signs at every building, many are offices and very high-end merchants, but then you see a very large sign of solid wood with burning aqua letters that shine brightly in the dark and reads clearly "Mystic Helix" above a very ornate arched doorway holding 2 very large and sturdy looking wooden doors.

During the walk nebulas is looking around paying attention to everything trying to get a feel for the people and the place, smiling at the child and laughing as he rides aegis. As the reach the helix and the door open he is taken back by what seems to be people having a good time. After a few moment steps inside, thinking to himself "I think I am going to like this place."
Jinn follows along gleefully. He pays very close attention and even takes a few notes as the boy rides Aegis around. Upon arrival Jinn follows the others into the building without hesitation.

Belch waits a moment as Nissa calls out, looking up at the windows to see if he can make anything out of the building (lights in windows, noise, state of repair etc - perception: 20). Once he's had a look, he walks up to the door to push it open.
Ayo & Jinn: You both realize that the magic that washed over you when the doors open was in part a cleansing spell meant to remove any lingering harmful magical affects. You also realize it is tied in with a prestidigitation spell that has left you clean along with your clothing as well. There may have been a hint of something else there but it wasn't entirely arcane in nature.
As the 3 of you take in the sight of the guild hall and begin to move inside, Sig announces "Welcome to the Mystic Helix, where all who enter, enter as equals, and all who gain full membership are family for life." He escorts you to the front desk, "This is normally where everything begins after you select a job from the board, you bring it here and submit your team and are given clearance to embark after it is verified that your party has the qualifications the guild master or myself has set on the particular mission. This isn't to limit anyone from taking on job, it's meant to make sure it's possible for your team to complete. For instance, if you need to be able to dispell magic on an ancient chest to obtain the item within for a client, yet do not have anyone capable of doing so... you might find yourself in a bit of a fix... I use that as an example because I did just that on my first mission out before we had this protocol... That chest was damned heavy to drag all the way back here alone..." He reaches up to rub his left shoulder as if remembering the ache.
As you approach and call out, nothing appears to happen. Upon investigating there seems to be only a reflection when you look into the windows and cannot perceive light or sound from within. When you push the doors, however, they slowly push back against you and open outwards.

"Well there's a full bar stocked with everything from the far reaches of the lands, there's plenty of friendly competition to be found here with our members, there's nigh endless information to be gathered from our lovely ladies at the desk here" He smiles over to them and bows slightly, "The job board is on the far wall there" He Points out the very large bulletin type board, "So you can see what kinda of jobs we get, which are pretty much anything and everything, and of course anyone interested in joining will want to attend the meeting later with the master so he can determine a trial job for those he deems up to the challenge, though with our wide variety of incoming assignments, there's something for almost everyone"
Ayo looks thoughtful. "so, of someone can do a lot of things very well, they are more valuable to the team."
he tenses in anticipation. "is there perhaps a group that we could do a trial run with?" Ayo asks looking at nebulas " or maybe a new group looking for members?"

"Well once you become a full member, it's entirely up to you if you party and who with. However for the trials it's usually decided by the master, though usually they are good size teams, so you should expect help. It's possible for it to take only one trial to become a member, but it usually takes a few more, depending on difficulty and outcome, though you are paid for the jobs you finish of course, you just don't have access to the board just yet. Oh! And full members get a room here and meals as well. Let's just say that though this is a large building, it's a lot larger on the inside than one would think"
Ayo winks. "if I had to guess I would say we are no longer in Sharn."
He looks around for windows. if there are any he inspects them. " I assume you have a member of house Orien doing your portal magic? or is it a demiplane?"

"sounds good to me we will be at the meeting later until then I am going to look at the board and maybe talk to so people. Thank you for all your help." Nebulas walk over to the job board.
Ayo stands up as well, refastening his weapon to his hip.
"all ready. why don't we see what this guild is all about?"
