Salazar wonders if he made a mistake leaving behind the comfortable life. What was he trying to work toward with this group? How would this ragtag band serve him? What goal did he have if not a comfortable life? Vengeance against the Guild? Good enough for now.
At least the weather is lovely for now. What the hell is Nos doing? The man is competent, but bizarre as hell.
Salazar continues to walk, trying to figure out the way forward with his rag tag group of misfits.

As they walk Vaclav mostly listens to the others and observes Nos's frantic work. Finally he speaks up. "I don't have much idea about how to demolish the bridge but most lighthouse buildings that I am familiar with have wooden interiors. It seems to me that a simple way of destroying the lighthouse would be to burn it out." He puffs a bit of flame into his hand. "I have an easy source of flame and with magic being so uncommon up here I doubt anyone would consider it as having been the cause of a fire. As long as we're not spotted then it should be easy to pass off as an accident."

Louis will do his best to lead them off trail once they’re closer then. Don’t want to be seen coming into town and then leaving the day the lighthouse burns down. We can approach at night unless someone has a different plan
"Hmm... dressing up as pirates," Claire says to Nos's suggestion. She tries to school her face into strict neutrality, but she can't help the sparkle of excitement that lights her eyes. Finally, she gives into it. "Yes, I think I like that plan. Dressing up as pirates! I'm glad I took a few extra sets of clothes with me, between all this cloth and the rest of us we should be able to cook up some fine disguises. Oh, this sounds like it's going to be fun!" Noticing her lack of decorum, she coughs into her hands and quiets down, her cheeks pinking a bit to match her hair.
Privately, aside from her excitement at playing dress-up to destroy things, she's glad that Nos seems to have lost the idea of poisoning the local populace, or whatever it was he was planning to do to the food stores.
You spend an uneventful and peaceful night under the moon and stars. Claire erects a tent and disappears inside. The rest of you slum it under the stars, which fits the likes of Louis and Nos pretty well. Salazar and Vaclav less so. The tireless Chernobog sits on a nearby tree and watches the night through and the rest of you take it in turns to watch. The night passes seemingly without event
OOC: You can all benefit from a Long Rest, not that I think you need one, but in case you wish to change spells etc.
The next morning is again cold and crisp with a clear sky and a gentle breeze running down from the western mountains. You push on northwards, guided by Louis.
As the day comes to a close you have reached the hills which mark the edge of Baron Gilbert's lands. Louis is casting around for a suitable place to make camp in the growing dusk when he comes across an unusual sight. You have come to the edge of some ancient ruins. A quick cast around shows you that this used to be a huge complex, but now there is nothing but tumbled old masonry and stones. Brambles and thorn bushes cover the area. There is no great structure left, and everything is overgrown. It is clearly ancient (OOC: History check if you want to guess the age and civilization it's from).

"Ruins... they usually mean two things combined. Treasures, and dangers. Perhaps this one will buck expectations. Still, I shall keep first watch tonight if we are going to stay here. If it's a good shelter for humans, it will be a good shelter for the wildlife as well, and sometimes sharing isn't advisable." She shudders a bit, thinking of the enormous wolf they'd met on the way in to town, before Louis joined them.

Indeed. Nos Heliwr is beginning to build up a collection of "weeds, mushrooms and wildflowers". Some are proving more elusive than others but he is confident of his ability to find them in the wilds around here eventually. He just needs patience - and he has an abundance of that.
Taking out his 'cooking' equipment, Nos Heliwr will try and brew a tasty treat for his foes.
INT 13
Looking at the stinking mess, "Beskited tongues of aborted toads! Mongoloid monsters fathered by diseased sloths! Fools enamored by kindnesses!!" He tosses the whole mess into the bushes, cleans his utensils and gets ready for watch. "I propose two be alert at all times." He will go around the perimeter of the camp, about 25 meters out, and set up his alert devices, innocuous piles if twigs and stones, on all likely approaches to the camp and, when he gets back, he'll set up another to demonstrate for the others what disturbing one sounds like. "If ye hears this, awake the others quick like, could bes somethin' that wants a piece o' o'r hides."
The sun has set and it's twilight. The light is still decent but fading. You begin to set up camp. Nothing stirs and you note a total lack of animal noises. This place is unnaturally quiet. Chernobog sees no further things of interest, just a patient cougar and a mysterious staircase leading down into the ground.
Another peaceful night passes seemingly without event. It's eerie and strange as the whole ruins are utterly quiet all night. Nothing stirs and you pass a peculiar but uneventful night. You hardly even feel the wind stirring.
The morning dawns overcast with grey clouds moving in from the direction of the mountains to the west. This leaves the ruins even more eerie and unnerving. Chernobog has seen nothing to alert or worry him and you eat a bland but nourishing breakfast of trail rations.
Claire wakes up and comes out her tent, stretching and warming up for the day's activities. She does a double-take when she sees a small spot of bushes that seem to have burned away overnight; they're suspiciously in the trajectory of where Nos tossed his failed attempts to make dinner the previous night. One eyebrow goes up, and she peers at Nos. "Maybe someone else should take over cooking for the party in the meanwhile," she gently suggests.
As everyone gets ready to move on, Claire lingers by the staircase, wondering what lies in the depths of the ruins. "Hmm... we needn't rush to our next goal, you know. It isn't as if we are on a strict schedule, and I, for one, am always curious about ancient ruins. People tend to find things in them. Things that might be beneficial to us." She smiles and points down the staircase. "What do you think?"
From the top of the stairs, Claire can see they descend into darkness. They are clogged with weeds and thorns and briars. Cobwebs are thick but would allow passage. At the bottom of the staircase Claire thinks she can make out a block of some sort. Perhaps, an ancient door, full of ancient potential she fancies?
Louis gets up and heads down the staircase. “Curiosity is getting the better of me.” Louis looks back for a moment as the cougar appears, and starts following him down the stairs. “I don’t want to talk about it.”
Vaclav has Chernobog land on his shoulder and then places a hand on Claire's shoulder as they descend. "Seeing and hearing as Chernobog now, which shouldn't be too much of a problem. Give me a tap if you notice something though, or you want me to be quiet." He then flips into owl vision so that he can see as they go into the darkness.
