Ralfi glances back and forth between Salazar and Claire, evidently amused. Well well. It seems there are two fierce dragons among us. I wonder who's flame burns brighter, which of the two will become our leader...
A smirk flickers at the corner of his mouth, yet only for a brief moment. Then the lad sidles up to the amassed pile of shiny things, like a magpie, and collects his fair share of the wealth there. Pockets now bulging with coin (perhaps embarrassed at this fact), Ralfi pats Nos on the shoulder amicably. 'Personally? I'm eager to set off, for this is the land of my birth!'
"Then where's the first place we should go to sell our skills local boy?" Vaclav says from the stern of the boat. Strangely his face keeps looking straight ahead but Chernobog's turns and seems to be looking at Ralfi.

Salazar steps up and gives a second impassioned speech. The Shackled appear emboldened and encouraged by his fine words. When he hands the position of First Mate to Carline, the defacto leader of the ex-slaves, the perceptive among you notice a momentary bristling of Birgen's usually calm exterior, but it is soon gone, replaced with quick acceptance and what appears to be agreement. "I will take care of the passengers, sirs, ma'am," Birgen assures you. "You have my word." This appears to satisfy Carline and you think the slaves will be looked after by the dependable Boatswain.
You collectively climb down into the Longboat and two crewmen climb down with you to row you to shore. Ralfi looks around him and replies to Vaclav, "I'm not sure of our exact location, but we appear to be on the south eastern shoreline of northern Ibini. If I'm not mistaken, to the east is the port of Zaneth. That means a little west of here lies the tiny fishing village of Spilk. Either way, we are in the domain of Baron Gilbert, one of the three lords who control this entire region. He makes his home in the town of Grunal."
The crew row you to shore and land you upon a sandy beach. You are in a deep water bay. North of you low lying fields are being planted with crops. You can just make out an old cart trail which leads east-west. "I believe this trail connects Spilk and Zaneth," Ralfi tells you. "So our choices are to pick one of those two settlements, or head pretty much due north and pick up the road which leads from Zaneth to Grunal if we want to head into more civilized parts."
Nos Heliwr picks holes in the side of the boat, to the obvious chagrin of the crew who are rowing it. The blade is razor sharp and could be used to shave with. It glints in the bright morning sun and the engraving of the shark seems to sparkle. The pearl handle fits lovely in Nos Heliwr's grip like it was made for him.
Claire holds the broken glaive in her hands as you are rowed to shore, examining it one more time. The more she studies it the more she comes to realize it is unusual. The haft is part wood, part mineral, of a type she is unfamiliar. It is also intricately carved with ancient symbols of rampant bears and towering mountains. The blade also has runes on it, which appear arcane in nature to her untrained eye. They seem to indicate that the weapon was probably magical once.
Salazar appears completely zoned out, uncharacteristically ignoring Ralfi's directions and instructions as local guide. He absently rubs the tattoos which eerily snake up and down his forearm. "Patience my friend," a voice sounds in Salazar's head. "This is just the beginning of our partnership. You needed help and of course I was there for you. I will continue to furnish you with powers which you can use as you see fit. I ask for so very little in return. Indeed, just now I ask for nothing. Fear not, friend, for I watch over you now."
(OCC Sorry, Blakey. I was in bed, but that's exactly the manner in which Ralfi would have replied to Valvac👍. In my opinion, Zaneth is most enticing of the three options. Seems like the conflict between the fishermen and the merchants could make for an interesting plot hook:) )

Taking your possessions in hand you take the old cart trail to the east, heading towards the mid morning sun. The trail wanders along the coastline and the view to the south and east ahead of you is pleasant. The sea here is calm as you follow a large deep bay around to the east, and the sea is an inviting shade of turquoise. Ralfi vaguely recalls stories of people coming to his bay to swim and relax in the hot summer months and you can see why. A more idyllic place it would be hard to imagine.
After a few hours you circumnavigate the bay and the cart trail cuts deeper inland cutting off the headland. The trail runs through farmland and you see a few farmers out sowing crops. They look up as you pass but mostly ignore you. Finally you see the far eastern shore of Ibini ahead and there, nestled in the shelter of a small bay is the fishing port of Zaneth.
Nos Heliwr says, "I suggest we bes findin' Auld Jacque, he bes knwin' things, but remember, what he learns from us bes material he bes able t' tell others, so what ye doan't want anyne else knowin'..." he shrugs. "Well you bes gettin' th' picture I bes sure."
OCC Is there anywhere here that might inform Nos Heliwr about Scragg's dagger? Maybe the temple would be able to 'Identify' it? He will pay a reasonable sum.

Panic is a mechanism that strengthens the gene pool.
Looking around at the idyllic scenery, Salazar feels momentarily at peace. He wasn't used to seeing this even in his life before the shackles, given that he lived and worked in a major city his whole life. The quiet, disturbed only by the sound of animals and working farmers was appealing. Of course, he would never want to settle down and live out here full time. Salazar would get bored far too easily. Perhaps a second home to escape to? Ah, we are getting far too far ahead of ourselves here.
"I think that's as good an idea as any. It'll be nice to get our feet under us, to have a real meal, and then we can perhaps figure out where we want to go. Is everyone doing alright? Now that we are relatively at peace and free, I wanted to ensure that the weight of the past few days doesn't crash down around us."

Vaclav sends Chernobog down over the town. He's looking for signs of unusual activity like a lot of guards or something like that.
Perception: 16
Looking through Chernobog's eyes, Vaclav sees a bustling fishing port. The place is busy and mostly full of fishermen mending nets, preparing to set out on the next tide, or returning from their latest trip out. There are some guard-like types around. These are typically dressed in leathers with an assortment of random, low quality weapons and are easily identified as they all wear bright orange bandanas. Most wear them tied around their waists but some use them as head scarves or the like. You see a small cluster of them gathered around the market square where one of them is banging something (a note?) into a post.
Nos Heliwr is aware that the practice of arcane magic has been banned in the Lucarcian continent for five hundred years. It has literally only just been rescinded with the forming of the Republic, less than two years before, after the death of the Emperor a couple of years before that. The last few years have seem much political upheaval in Lucarcia. However he also knows that many priests of the Light have the ability to delve into the Void and gain insight into the arcane properties of enchanted items. There is typically a Church of the Light in most settlements in Lucarcia, and Nos Heliwr is aware that there is one here in Zaneth.
"It's only in a big town that you can really be alone," Claire says philosophically as she spends her time looking over the glaive, only half-listening to the others carry on the discussion about where to go from here.
I should pay more attention. Really. It's hard to, though. She hadn't thought of much besides getting off of and away from that horrible boat as soon as humanly possible. Now that she was lacking a purpose and direction, she felt as adrift and lost as she had back at home. Well. At least in a big town, I might be able to find someone who can tell me what this broken blade is about. The thought that it houses an unknown magic fills her with a thrill of excitement, and she runs her fingertips over the engraved runes. "We're very much alike, you and I," she tells the weapon.
Looking up at Salazar's question, Claire smiles faintly. "I'll be fine, I think. I just need... some moments to get my head on straight." Still a little wary of the company she's sharing, she decides to keep the thought that she's more used to taking orders than giving them to herself. The sight of Zaneth on the horizon helps break her reverie; she sees the tell-tale signs of what is undoubtedly a church, and hope begins to fill her. "When in doubt, it's never wrong to as the Gods for guidance," she murmurs.
"Do you think we should all enter town together like this? Or should someone maybe go in alone first and get a feel for things? Do you think it's safe?"
Vaclav's eyes flip back to normal just in time to hear the conversation. He snorts when Claire talks about the gods but says nothing about it. "The guards are putting up some sort of sign in the centre of town that it might be best to take a look at. As for going together or not I guess that depends if you want to be associated with us or not Knight. I doubt word of the mutiny has reached here this fast."
