The scouts' report to the captain is out of earshot, but brief. The captain gives no reaction other than acknowledgment.
He then calls two crew to his side, who prepare their crossbows. He nods to Dain, and beckons him to follow, ignoring the rest of the party.
Then he draws his longsword, and marches purposefully westward down the beach toward his two fallen crew, not waiting to see who follows. The two dwarves keep a few steps behind him.
Kelnan sighs, fishes some powdered silver and iron from his pouch, and dashes after them. He clasps the captain on the shoulder, bestowing him with Protection from Evil and Good against the undead.
"Don't underestimate these things captain. I'd like someone who knows how to run a ship to make it through the night."
Fianna huffs and puffs, stuttering a bit as she starts several times to call after them, but stops, not knowing what to say. She wants to support her team but that stupid captain, she just... Grrrr! Fianna literally kicks the sand, spins around once, then plops down on the box with a grunt. She'll watch them from here... run up if there's trouble... yeah, that's it. Can't be giving the captain no satisfaction.
If Fianna has anything she can do from 300 feet away, she may act first. The captain draws his longsword. He is very angry and determined. The two crew - a middle-aged female dwarf and a teenager - prepare to fire their crossbows. The skeletons are armed with rusty short swords and short bows, and wear scraps of rotten armor.
(Katernin is tentatively placed on the map until I'm instructed otherwise.)
"Cap? Yoohoo, captain? You need any help out there?" Fianna will call out sweetly. Meanwhile, as an action, she will dismiss Fi'Finella from existence in preparation of re-missing them into existence next turn back close to her. Fianna will also move 30' towards the gang, but looking all nonchalant about it.
Only the arrow hits its mark, wounding the teenaged crewmember with a puncture in her shoulder.
The captain retaliates with a pair of fierce two-handed blows: Longsword Attack vs Skeleton #3: 21 Hit: 8 slashing damage. Longsword Attack vs Skeleton #4: 22 Hit: 4 slashing damage.
The captain hits both, nearly shattering the second with a single blow.
Fianna re-summons Fi'Finella and has the imp sit invisibly upon the box, protecting it as well as watching the surroundings for more pop up skellies. Fianna herself moves another 30' towards the skirmish.

Dain obliterates the two skeletons on the left, scattering splintered bones for forty feet behind. Both are quite defeated, and no longer animate. Dain then circles around to the far side of their opponents.
Molo, hobbling to catch up, projects an arcane detonation over the three skeletons to the right. A deafening blast booms across the sleety dunes. The skeletons struggle to hang on to their composition: DC15 CON Saves: 14, 17, 7
The skeletons on either end shatter into pieces; only the one in the middle manages to hang on to its form, albeit considerably broken and splintered.
Only two damaged skeletons remain. Kelnan and Katernin(?) remain to act.

Kelnan
Following a flurry of sand and shattering bone that leaves the fight over almost as soon as it has begun, Kelnan points a Ray of Frost at the injured skeleton, hoping to finish it off. He is happy to see the undead things hesitating in their attacks against the captain.
The captain steps forward and, looking around, scoops up one of his fallen crew with a powerful arm, and turns to leave. In a sober aside to Dain, he adds, "I think I know where we are."
The other two crew lift the second body. They begin their trek back to the campsite.
Fianna returns to the box and amuses herself by starting to dig a hole to put it in... What tragedy laden ship voyage is complete without some buried treasure?

Dain will nod to the captain, heft his maul over his shoulder and move to follow by the captain's left shoulder.

Fianna sits atop the blue box and watches the group march through the sand toward the site of the ambush, which is about 300 feet away.
The dunes are full of soft, coarse sand, with just an occasional tuft of dead grass or stunted shrub. It is Difficult Terrain.
Molo is having much trouble keeping up, and lags about 30 feet behind the group when they first approach the area where the two crew lay dead.
(Katernin - are you joining the captain's party, or are you staying with Fianna? Or something else?)
As they approach the site, the six skeletons rise again from the sand. They are encrusted by the old sand but do not seem hindered by it.

Attack: 8 Damage: 4
Kelnan sidesteps and fires a beam of bluish light past the captain, shattering the skeleton and spraying Dain with icy shards.
A single undead opponent remains in this lopsided fight. But, clattering its fleshless jaws, it doesn't hesitate to continue its bony attack.
Katernin may act if she chooses to enter this battle.
The two sailors with crossbows let loose on the remaining skeleton:
Light Crossbow Attack #1: 17 Hit: 9 piercing damage.
Light Crossbow Attack #2: 21 Hit: 8 piercing damage.
The second hits, and knocks its skull clear off. It collapses.
All the skeletons are down. Combat is over.
