Shipwrecked in Saltmarsh

Dain charges forward and slams the tall man with his frilly maul. It strikes him square in the chest. The man shrieks in pain and anger. His two companions drop their ranged weapons and draw their blades.

Kelnan, Molo, and Katernin may act. (Only Molo is within melee range.)

(Forgive my crude graphics! Tall man is in purple on the battle map.)

Molo leaps closer to the old man and starts screeching and crying. “You killed our friend!! Why did you have to kill him???”

Grovel, Cower, and Beg for advantage on attacks against the baddies for everyone in the group.

Katernin moves around Molo and approaches the 3 thugs, frustrated. She raises a hand, her shield's emblem to Ehlonna glowing as a radiant bolt leaves her hand and goes flying towards the leader.

Dumbfounded by Dain's crazed attack and this simpering kobold's pathetic antics, the tall man doesn't even see Katernin's mystical bolt of light strike. He shrieks again, smoking from the hit and now glowing with glittery mystical light.

Kelnan may act next.

Kelnan utters an Elvish curse under his breath and points his rod at the tall man. A flaming Chromatic Orb is drawn toward its target by the mystical light.

Attack: 17 Fire Damage: Unable to parse dice roll.

 Kelnan looks wide-eyed at the horse ornament on his rod that seems to grin a little bigger for a moment, and waves it at the other assailants. "And there's more where that came from!"

 Smote 

The tall man goes up in a pillar of fire, emitting a high-pitched shriek as he lights up the room, before crumbling into an ashen heap. Both of his companions are clearly alarmed by this turn of event, and sidestep the blast of intense heat.

The woman in the eyepatch steps around Molo and slashes at Dain with her short sword.
Sword attack: 22.  Piercing damage: 5

 Dain takes a minor, but rather bloody, wound to his arm.

The trio of guards race forward; Seth push the others aside and dashes forward at the middle aged bald goon, his longsword held high. The other two advance as far as the table and fire their heavy crossbows:
Heavy Crossbow attack #1 (Farley vs. bald goon):  6. Piercing damage: 5
Heavy Crossbow attack #2 (Butter vs. eyepatch lady):  8. Piercing damage: 3

 Both of the guardsmen hit their marks, including Butter's wild, drunken, improbable shot that ricochets off a wooden column before striking the woman in the ribs. Both goons are wounded, but standing. They both glance into the empty southwest corner of the room.

 The bald goon swings at Seth with his scimitar:
Scimitar attack: 6 Slashing damage: 5

He misses completely as the smirking guard easily sideswipes his desperate swing.

 Fianna may act next.

Dain's unholy anger enables him to ignore most of the damage he's taking as superficial.

(OOC:  He took only 1 point of piercing damage due to Rage.  I've updated my sheet)

     Fianna watches the mayhem erupt and is a touch surprised how quick everyone is to engage.  Still and all, better to hit than be hit, she supposed.  There was a moment where she wondered just which side the guards from town would be on, the Half Orc from the graveyard seemed suspicious of them and perhaps that made her overly so as well... but she did breath a sigh of relief when she saw them attacking those they discovered here.

     Fianna mutters a string of nonsense sounding words, to others at least, and unleashes an Eldritch Blast at the Bald Goon even as she noticed the other two looking in the corner and she starts to wonder what’s there...

Eldritch Blast Attack: 22 Damage: 11

Fianna's blast of crackling purple protoplasm from clear across the room slams into the bald, scimitar-wielding flunky and sends him smoking to the floor.

From behind her, she hears the crash of a door slamming open. A large, orange-skinned, heavily-armored goblinoid appears with a bow. He fires at the biggest target on the far side of the room: Dain.

Longbow attack: 12.   Piercing damage: 16

"Ouch!   You'll pay for that!"

(That's rounded down to 6 damage due to Rage).

Dain, Kelnan, Molo, and Katernin may act next.  (There are two enemies standing: the woman with the eyepatch and the armored goblinoid.)

Molo pats Dain “Go hammer it’s eyes out!” (Take a d6 inspiration)

He then leaps at the eye patched woman with a dagger.

Attack: 21 Damage: 2 

Dain is in a complete fury now, the pain from arrow and blade pushing him beyond reason.

Action:  Attack (eye-patch woman): 11 Damage: 9

If that drops her, then:  Move:  25' in the direction of the goblinoid.
If not then:  stay put and growl menacingly!

(note: he didn't use Reckless this round so is not offering Advantage to his attackers)

Molo sinks a dagger deep into the eye-patched thug's side. She screeches in anger. Dain takes her down completely with a swing of his maul to the side of her head. Three down, one to go. Dain sprints across the room, pushing Butter aside.

Kelnan and Katernin may act next.

Kelnan

Startled by the noise behind, he turns, fires a Ray of Frost at the newcomer, and retreats putting as much table between him and the goblinoid as possible.

Attack: 18 Cold Damage: 3, -10 ft movement
