Shipwrecked in Saltmarsh

Kelnan lobs a double blob of brownish acid at the bony undead; the nimble monsters attempt to dodge the incoming liquid missiles:
Dex Saves: 22, 5

 Skeleton 3 collapses into a pile of bubbling, bony goo. Another one down. The other skeleton deftly sidesteps the attack.

Farley, beginning to overcome his initial reservations, steps forward and fires a bolt at skeleton #2. 
Heavy Crossbow attack: 8  Piercing damage: 4

He narrowly misses.

Skeletons 2 and 4 go after a reckless, raging Dain with their rusty short swords, as does #5 with its bow. #6 fires an arrow at Katernin.

Short sword attack #1 (Skeleton #2 on Dain): 23. Piercing damage: 4 
Short sword attack #2 (Skeleton #4 on Dain): 11. Piercing damage: 8 
Bow attack #1 (Skeleton #5 on Dain): 13. Piercing damage: 6 

  One of the skeletons hits Dain square in the neck with its old blade, causing a nasty gash. In his frenzied state, however, he barely notices. (6 hp damage).

Bow attack #2 (Skeleton #6 on Katernin): 5. Piercing damage: 7 

 Neither arrow meet their marks.

A glowing skeletal hand appears in a hidden doorway in the northeast, slowly pulling a sliding panel open.

Katernin, Molo, and Fianna may act next.

Fianna slips back into the room, she takes aim and whispers in her arcane speak before sending and Eldritch Blast at Skeleton 4.

Eldricth Blast Attack: 9 Damage: 13

     She sees the glowing skeletal hand but doesn't yet know what to do about it so just crouches and stays ready.

Katernin moves to stand overtop the pile of bones and swings her handaxe at the next one.

Movement: up one space to be in line with Skeleton 4

Attack: 16 Damage: 7

Molo winds up his sling and fires at skeleton #2

Attack: 13 Damage: 5 

Katernin straddles the bones of a fallen skeleton, still bubbling with acid, and swings her handaxe deftly at the monster. She manages to lop one bony arm clean off, although it still retains its sword-wielding arm.

Molo's stone flies wide, cracking off the east wall and nearly hitting the glowing skeletal figure slowly emerging from its sliding door.

Butter groans, and slowly and unsteadily stands up. He approaches the door behind Farley to see what's going on.

Fianna fires a crackling burst of unearthly color at skeleton 4, but it sidesteps her attack.

Kelnan may act next.

Still raging and bleeding from the neck, Dain slams skeleton #2 with his maul:
Attack: 16. Bludgeoning damage: 15

Farley fires his crossbow at Skeleton #4:
Heavy Crossbow attack: 6. Piercing damage: 5

Driving his maul clear through his opponent (#2), he completely obliterates the skeletal horror – bone splinters spray against the wall.

Kelnan may act next.

A hunched corpse wearing a pointed hat and dressed in a robe embroidered with mystic symbols crosses through the hidden door, as the glow begins to fade. Thin wisps of beard float from its bony jaw. It raises a finger, tracing arcane symbols in the air. In a hoarse voice, it speaks: “Secrets found and lost then found again. Your paltry minds cannot fathom …”

Skeleton #4 swings its rusty blade again at Dain. 
Short sword attack: 9  Piercing damage: 7

 Dain easily parries the old blade.

Skeletons #5 and #6 loose arrows at Dain and Katernin:
Bow attack #1 (vs. Dain):  20  Piercing damage: 7
Bow attack #2 (vs. Katernin):  19  Piercing damage: 3

 The arrow intended for Katernin is neatly deflected by her substantial armor, but Dain's hits him square in the stomach. (Added crit damage:  3 )
In his rage, Dain again shrugs off what should be a painful wound. (Half damage from rage.)

Kelnan may still act, as may Katernin, Molo, and Fianna.

Molo whips another stone at skeleton 4 with his sling

Attack: 22 Damage: 4 
He then moves up next to Dain.

     Fianna’s eyes immediately close upon the pointy hatted newcomer who seems to possibly be casting some kind of spell.  She casts Hex upon them (bonus action, Disadvantage on Dex ability checks... Plus 1d6 necrotic whenever I deal damage..)

     “  bata do rúin i do thóin!“ Fianna says, casting Eldritch Blast at the same target...

Eldritch Blast Attack: 13 Damage: 7 Plus 5 necrotic if hits...

Kelnan roars at the robed newcomer. "A proper foe! You're uglier than old professor Arganorum, and that's saying something!"

He raises his rod and propels a pulsing orb of energy toward it.

Chromatic Orb - Attack: 11 Thunder Damage: 17

He grimaces as the boom resonates painfully in the small stone room. "Sorry friends! A bit noisy!" he shouts.

The skeletal newcomer is thrown back a few feet from the thunderous blast of Kelnan's spell. "Trespassers! Interlopers! Interfering dimwitted fools!" mutters the creature.

Molo thwacks the one-armed skeleton (#4) with a well-aimed stone. (Wait... why does Molo have advantage against it?)

Butter fires his crossbow at skeleton #4. 
Heavy crossbow attack: 15. Piercing d amage: 9

 Another improbable hit by Butter strikes the skeleton square in its skull, knocking it clear off. It collapses into a pile of yellowed bones.

Fianna strikes the hexed corpse with a crackling beam of energy, tearing a blackened hole in the front of its robes, and exposing cracked white ribs beneath. It staggers with the accumulating damage.

Katernin may act next, followed by Kelnan.

 Yup. I even remember it sometimes.

Kelnan kicks stray bones aside, points at the robed figure, and a Ray of Frost streaks across the room."Seranes!"

Katernin moves foreward to the backline skeletons, slashing down with her handaxe.

Movement: Foreword to SK6

Action: Handaxe Attack at SK6
Attack: 16 Damage: 4

Katernin steps forward and slashes skeleton #6.  A cloud of yellow flakes fall to the ground as she shears off several ribs.

Kelnan steps to the side and fires a beam of white light over Molo's head, slamming the eerie undead being. Frost encases it for a moment. Then its top half shears off onto the floor, even as its lower body remains frozen in place. Incredibly, it is still animated, pulling itself forward with one bony arm. "Research!" it shouts, hoarsely. "Thieves! Your puny minds shalt never comprehend..."

Dain, still in a rage, steps forward to slam this unearthly half-creature with his frilly maul. 
Attack: 23  Damage: 7

He crushes what's left of it into splinters. Two skeletons remain.

Farley steps into the room fires a crossbow bolt at skeleton #5. 
Heavy crossbow attack: 19. Piercing damage: 4

 The skeleton takes minor damage, as it sheds a layer of dried yellow film.

It steps forward and swings its old, rusty blade at Molo:
Short sword attack: 16  Piercing damage: 6

 Molo is hit, with a nasty and bloody slash the length of his arm.

Meanwhile, the other skeleton (#6) engages Katernin.
Short sword attack: 14  Piercing damage: 7

 Katernin manages to hold off her attacker with her sturdy shield.

Katernin, Molo, and Fianna may act.

     Fianna moves her Hex from the guy with the hat to Skeleton # 6, and follows up with an Eldritch Blast

Eldritch Blast Attack: 18 Damage: 8 plus 1 for the Hex if I hit.

Molo stabs at the skelly in front (s5) of him and slashes at it with his newfound sabre.

Attack: 11 Damage: 3 

Molo shears off half of its ribcage and part of its skull with his blade. But still, it keeps advancing, clacking what's left of its jaw wordlessly.

Butter fires his crossbow at #5 as well:
Heavy crossbow attack: 10. Piercing damage: 6

 Butter's sloppy shot goes wild, nearly skimming Molo's head and flying into the dark room ahead. You hear crockery smash somewhere.

Fianna fires a crackling bolt of energy over Katernin's shoulder at the other skeleton, but narrowly misses.

Katernin may go next, followed by Kelnan.

What did that thing mean? What research?

Brushing aside his doubts for the moment, he raises a hand and fires another Ray of Frost at S5.
