Lucky struggles to try and fight his way up from the depths where he is slowly fading.

But then he sees a light at the edge of his vision and the light is warm and beckoning.  He can feel a friendly presence calling him to a sanctuary where he need never feel pain again.

(OOC:  I think Lucky just died....)

Fianna fires a bolt of crackling purple force at the remaining goon. He staggers, nearly knocked unconscious by the blast. He puts his arms up around his face. 

Molo screams at the old man, and plunges forward with his knife. The long-haired goon, staggering in distress, brushes him off. 

Lucky breathing quiets on the floor behind him. His dagger falls from his grip.

The tied-up old man remains quiet. The remaining goon is somewhat disoriented and panicky. He begins to edge toward the southwest corner of the room.

Katernin may act.

Katernin looks at Lucky as he takes his least breath, and turns to the remaining goon she follows him and goes to grab him, "You're not going anywhere," she says.

The dazed goon tries to shimmy out of Katernin's grasp. Dex check: 7 

He fails, and is now trapped by Katernin. Eyeing the corner of the room, and with a look of growing panic on his face, he swings his sword with his free arm at Katernin:

Short sword Attack: 24. Slashing Damage: 4

 ...felling Katernin and freeing himself. Katernin falls hard, blood streaming from her side and shoulder.

Reed takes another shot with his bow:  Attack: 8. Piercing Damage: 6

Reed misses again. Everyone but Reed (and Kelnan) are up. Katernin may make a fresh death save. (Kelnan dreams of small waves lapping on faraway shores...)

     Options are bleak.  Fianna could assist Katernin but would likely get killed herself while doing so... Best hope is to rid them of the attacker and then be able to hopefully save a few of her companions... "bás cheana muc tú" she grunts, releasing another beam of crackling Eldritch Blast energy for Attack: 21 Damage: 2

Fianna's blast takes down the goon. Finally.

The body of the long-haired teen lies smoking on the floor, surrounded by the bodies of Lucky (dead), Katernin (dying), Kelnan (unconscious), the goon's twin brother (dead), and the two other dead attackers. It's a gory landscape.

Combat is over.

((What about the old man?))

     Fianna will do what she can to stabilize Katernin (Medicine 7 )) and then search everyone, she remembers someone saying they had a potion...If she finds that she'll force it down Katernin's throat.

The old man remains securely tied, sitting silently on the floor on the east end of the room.

Fianna fails to stabilize the failing Katernin, but is able to locate the vial of potion Kelnan has tucked in a pocket. Forcing half of it into her mouth, it brings her around; her wounds begin to magically seal. (Healing 9 hit point in total. There is enough remaining for one more dose.)

     “Do what you can for them,” Fianna says, thrusting the rest of the potion at Katernin.  Fianna then gets to her feet, stalks over to the bound old man, draws  a dagger from her boot, and calmly slices his throat.

Molo goes to grab the old man.

”Don’t even think of moving on.”

The old man indeed moves on. With nary a gasp, he expires alongside his comrades, quiet slain by Fianna.

((I'm going to get this up here since I don't know when I'll post next, but assuming I get the rest of that potion or am otherwise healed...))

Kelnan

Eyes shut and groggy, Kelnan slowly awakes. "I just had the most wonderful dream... Lucky, you were there... Finally learned to sail... Had your own silver ship and everything..."

But then the lingering pain of his wound, and the overwhelming smell of blood and charred flesh brings him back to reality. He spies Lucky's pale body lying on the ground and crawls over, trying to shake him awake. "Come on now son, time to go! Bells are ringing, captain'll have your hide if he catches you here! Wake up now, Lucky!"

All for nothing of course, and Kelnan collapses for a moment, defeated. That tearful wave, maybe it wasn't a dream at all...

Katernin uses the potion on Kelnan. (8)) And stabilizing who needs stabilized. When she comes to Lucky, she checks his pulse, "I'm... I'm sorry," she whispers to him. "I didn't make it in time," tears well up in her eyes, "I'm so sorry." She slips her hand over his eyes closing them, and looks around the group, "I... um... do you know where he would preferred to be buried? Or consecrated? We can take him to the temple of Procan if you'd rather that. Or I could perform rights over the body, or we could try and take him to Seaton, but that might be a bit of a journey... I'm sorry truly." 

Katernin successfully administers the rest of the potion to Kelnan; the vial is now empty. She finds no one left to stabilize. Lucky is gone; everyone else is on their feet now.

The party is alone again, in this old, secret cellar turned dormitory.

     “We’re still hurting and don’t know what else is out there.  I suggest we bar every door best we can and home up hear for a bit while we recover,” Fianna says, all but collapsing onto the floor...

Kelnan looks nervously at the door with the ominous warning.

"Not here. The smell... and don't know what's in there. I'd rather go upstairs. Tomorrow we can burn this place down." 

He drags a blanket off one of the beds and covers Lucky, then goes to look through the pockets of the bowmen.
