Spoiler for Nordan and Dartor:
The bridge seems sturdy, so you're not worried about crossing it. The stonework seems pretty good. Nobody else appears to be waiting for you all on the other side.
Spoiler for Akra and Blade:
The bridge seems sturdy, so you're not worried about crossing it. The stonework seems pretty good. Nobody else appears to be waiting for you all on the other side.
As you inspect the bridge, you notice that about halfway across, there is a part of the bridge that looks just a little bit difference than the rest. It's kind of far away, but you can tell it's a very slightly raised plate, about 10 feet across, long enough so you couldn't really jump over it unless you were very, very athletic. As you look around a little more, you see up on the ceiling a long, thin slit.
Blade, now acting more serious, since his close encounter with the goblins says:
There appears to be a trap in the middle of the bridge. I suggest we try setting it off safely from a distance first? Unless anyone wants to run across and just see what happens?
Akra eyes the bridge, impatient to get across it. Having seen the raised plate though, she knows that it would be foolish to just run across. "How do you suggest we set it off safely? Otherwise, we could try getting around it some other way to avoid setting it off."
Dartor rests himself on his axe while he ponders on how to cross, “I think the halflings right, however if the trap is set off what’s not to say it won’t destroy the bridge, then we’d have a bigger problem”
"Well, we can all try jumping over the plate, but it looks like it won't be easy to do. There is a small slit in the ceiling, so I imagine a blade may drop down or arrows shoot out. I don't suppose that would destroy the bridge? I'm happy to risk throwing something onto it. But I do understand the concerns about destroying the bridge. However I don't see how we can cross the chasm without using the bridge. So we need to disable the trap, or jump over it?
A crazy idea, could be going back into the other room and getting the braziers and some other material and build a bridge or platform on the bridge over the plate?"
Akra nods. "We can use the vines, and I have some rope if we need more. Is there enough solid material to get over the plate though?" She looks at the bridge to see if it would be possible to tie vines or rope onto it.
what if we try to remove the pressure plate some way i have a crow bar and we could find some thing heavy and put the crow bar between the plate and then knock the crow bar with some thing heavy or make some pully system
DMs note: Just waiting for someone to make an executive decision here. When you're ready to make a move tell me what you do and roll a 20, I'll decide if it's needed and what modifiers to add if applicable.
Dartor listens to the others before stating his decision,” It’s doing no good just waiting here and and listing options, I reckon Blade was right in the first place, if we can find something to set of the trap from a distance then I say we do that, whatever occurs afterwords, we’ll have to deal with accordingly.” He looks to the others to see if they agree.

"Alright, we'll try setting off the trap first then," Akra says. She goes back to the room they came from and picks up a few large animal bones from the brazier. On her way back to the party, she also snaps off a few of the vines, in case they come in handy later. "Stand back. And if this ends up breaking our only way across the chasm, remember it wasn't my idea."
(Akra grabs the items from the previous room and tentatively walks over to the bridge, ready to move out of the way. She drops the large bones of a Boar on the plate....
Deciding to test it out more, he sets out onto the bridge, cautiously putting one foot on the pad, with all his weight, ready to jump back if needs be...
(The Brave young Halfling decides to take a risk and walks onto the plate, ready to jump back at the first sign of trouble. He puts his foot on it and shifts all of his weight onto the plate...
....
....
....
And nothing seems to happen. Blade walks across and back just to make sure, and it doesn't seem like there's any issue here.)
(Akra follows along, cautiously stepping onto the plate. It shifts suddenly, drops a couple of inches, and a huge Scythe drops down from the slit on the ceiling!)
