(Hmm, that is the second time my post did not post, it could be my internet. I will make sure to check next time. For the record, Fletcher agreed with Tender and Kallista)

“I will take responsibility for what I have done. [...] If must fall, I will rise each time a better man.” ― Brandon Sanderson, Oathbringer.
“Well if I recall correctly, them fancy mages live up in that tower there.” The man points to a conical structure to the south west. “But last I heard they’d aaaall disappeared. Vanished without a trace.”

"Thank you for the information." Kallista flashes the man a quick smile before heading back to the group. She points to the tower that she was shown. "Supposedly they used to live in that tower before they disappeared. It's a start, at least."
Fletcher nods "This may be a wild goose chase, but it is all we have. I wonder if we will be permitted access..." He looks a little worried at the prospect they will be refused "If so, we have to find another way in. We cant leave the city without getting into that tower."

"Well, we'll no know until we take a look," Orimdal says, "If the way in is barred fer some reason, perhaps there's a local guard that might be inclined ta allow us entry ta help their investigation?"
"Yeah, might as well go scope things out at least," Tender agrees, glancing up towards the tower. "Maybe they left something behind? How long ago did they disappear?" More importantly, why was it starting to feel like they were always a step behind?
"They might still be there, and have simply barred themselves in. I recall Frillis saying they should be easy enough to locate." With a flick of her wrist, a pair of small metal tools slides into Kallista's hand. "If all else fails, we can try to use... alternative methods of entry." She twirls the lockpicks over her fingers once, then tucks them back into her sleeve.
"Either way, I think we should find Jullar and regroup somewhere before approaching that tower." Evi replies, growing antsy at the continued stares in their direction. "And to be honest, if we want to stay under the radar, we either need to stay out of the richer areas of the city all together or 'upgrade' our clothing to match the locals. Otherwise we'll stick out like a sore thumb wherever we go."
"We don't know where we'll need to go, and we have the money to spare right now. Shopping for new clothes isn't a bad idea." Kallista looks to the others for their opinions.
Fletcher groans "Clothes shopping? I would rather fight another sea monster, but I guess we have no choice." He looks to Evi "Where can we find what we need?"

Tender makes a face, but looks down at herself and reconsiders. "Well," she starts, sighing, "I suppose looking less like a sea serpent stabbed me with its teeth would be a good idea." Her current outfit was somewhat torn and caked with dried blood, ew. No wonder people were staring at them.
"That's true." Kallista turns to Evi, the most knowledgeable about the city.. "Do you think we'll be okay making a quick trip to the tower as we are? If we have to stay for a while, we can worry about blending in."
(The tower is located near the Ruler’s Palace, a richer area by nature, but the palace itself is removed from any class-controlled area. Basically, no one visits it from the general citizenry.)

"We'll stick out even more than we do here and I'm not sure if anyone will work or even speak with us, but that area is technically not closed off from the public. If we're trying to be incognito at all though, we should change." Evi replied back. She had misgivings going as she was near the palace but she kept those thoughts to herself. If they were able to find these wizards quickly, it'd be worth it.
Orimdal shrugs, "If ya just wish ta clean up, I recall a wizard in my home town used a spell ta clean up his clothes an' house regularly. Pressed... Prestige... Oh, I don't recall its exact name."
"Any of you know how to do that?" Kallista asks the others. "If not, as much as I hate wasting time, new clothes might be our best option. We'll make the trip as quick as possible."
"Magic's a little out of my range," Tender says, though she waves a hand at herself like that might help trigger a spell of some sort. "I agree with Kallista, though; we might as well spend the time to blend in better." She heads back towards the market, keeping an eye out for anyone they might get some local fashion from.

(@DM: what part of the city is the tower located again? I'm assuming it's in an upscale part of the city but want to confirm.)
