"No, nothing."  Evi replies, growing a bit concerned that something was wrong with them... or with her.

Fletcher squints into the sky. "I dont know if its you guys or me thats going crazy"

(You are travelling southwest-ish, but the bend turns straight south. So the creature is moving the opposite direction.)

Jullar leans towards Fletcher. "What is it that they see, exactly?" He asks, slightly concerned, but also intrigued.

Fletcher shrugs "No clue. I cant see it either."

"How curious." he says. "Well, I'm off to get some wood for the cooking fire. If I'm going to do this, I'm going to do it right." he says as he sets up some pots and pans, and lays out several seasonings and spices. You can tell that Jullar is very passionate about cooking and knows his stuff. "Could the rest of you proceed to the caravan and retrieve some food for the stew? Anything will do." He asks with a smile and nod of thanks before he disappears into the jungle.

(Assuming Evi was in earshot to hear that)

Lowering her voice so only Tender and Kallista could hear, "I may just be paranoid but is it strange that Jallar just left all of a sudden?  A few moments ago he was passed out from fright and now he's fine going back into the jungle by himself.  Seems odd..." Evi then looks back in the direction Jullar ran off to, hoping to be proven wrong.

"True..." Kallista ponders for a moment. "Maybe one of us should scout ahead, just to make sure nothing is waiting for us at the caravan. I don't want to believe that he'd lead us into a trap, but better safe than sorry."

"It does seem a bit odd, with how shaken he was before," Tender agrees, turning to look off towards where Jullar disappeared into the jungle. "I don't mind scouting ahead, but I'm not the best at being quiet," she adds with a sheepish smile. Plus, she couldn't get that strange flying creature out of her mind - were they supposed to follow it? Was it some kind of omen? She shakes her head and tries to refocus. 

"Well, lucky for you, that's kind of my specialty," Kallista says with a grin. Honestly, she would welcome the distraction from whatever the creature was. Scouting would force her to focus on something else. Turning away from Tender and Evi, she heads back to the others on the cart. "We were thinking it might be smart for someone to scout ahead before going to get the food. It seems kind of suspicious that despite being passed out from fear earlier that Jullar is suddenly so willing to go right back into the jungle. I'd rather we not walk into some sort of trap or ambush. I'm willing to go check it out if you all stay here," she tells them, voice low.

Kallista can tell that Jullar's vibes indicate that he is excited to be with other people. He is also trying to put the thoughts of the other caravan members being eaten by a giant murderous plant, and narrowly escaping with his life out of his head.

(Now I feel bad about acting super suspicious of him. Kind of too late to change it, though.)

Once Jullar returns with wood, Orimdal will cast Create Bonfire to light it and then Control Flames to make the fire smaller or larger as needed. While they eat, Orimdal continues questioning Jullar, "What brought ya through this woods? We've set out from Splintfork. Ya wouldn't have come from that ways, would ya?"

"No, no. I've lived in Vinanathi for years now, and I've traveled with caravans to make coin performing whenever and wherever they stop. It's not much, but I've survived on it." He replies. "I haven't played for anyone in days. Though, I guess I can't really now." He says, looking back at his broken instrument.

Kallista walks off in the direction of the caravan. As she approaches, she ducks into the bushes and tries to minimize the sound of her footsteps. Assuming that there's nothing waiting at the caravan, she grabs what food she can carry and heads back. She feels a twinge of guilt for being so distrusting, but quickly pushes it aside when the others come into view again. "Will this be enough?" She asks Jullar once she's returned.

"Oh yes, that will do marvelously." He says with a warm smile.

Seeing that nothing untoward has happened, and also feeling somewhat guilty for being suspicious of the man, Tender happily joins Jullar and Orimdal at the fire. "Thank you for cooking for us, Jullar," she says once she's seated, pulling her knees up and curling her tail around herself. "I'm sorry about your instrument," she adds, following his gaze towards it. "I'd hate if something happened to my flute like that." It was, after all, one of her only reminders of home left to her, now.

Fletcher is uncharacteristically quiet. He gets up from his seated position, and walks a little ways into the woods.

Jullar perks up when he hears a flute mentioned. "The food is no problem. I love cooking, have always loved it, and will always love it. What does your flute look like?" he asks. He watches Fletcher walk from the fire, and gets up to follow him and console him. He stops short, and turns around. "Could someone watch the stew while I'm away. Wouldn't want it to get ruined." he asks with a smile.

"Of course," Kallista gives a small smile back, perching where Jullar was once sitting. She picks up his abandoned spoon and starts slowly stirring, trying to mimic his motions.

Jullar walks into the jungle after Fletcher. When he finds him, he respectfully gives him space, but gets close enough to be known. "You alright?" he asks.
