"I agree," Tender says, standing up to stretch before shouldering her pack. "Maybe someone in the town will know about the weird two-headed flying creature," she muses, tilting her head back to glance up at the sky again. After a moment of staring she shakes herself, her tail lashing behind her once, and moves over to climb up into the carriage.
"It had a...big toothy fish head? And a reptilian head," Tender tries to explain, frowning. "I think there was another head on its tail, but I couldn't really tell, and it had big, leathery wings," she continues, spreading her arms out wide and then wincing sheepishly as she realizes she's invaded everyone's space, pulling them back. "Oh! And a red streak followed behind it?" She pauses, concentrating, to make sure she's gotten the description right. "Only Kallista, Orimdal, and I could see it."
(ooc: lol just realized Tender has no idea what a shark is)
Orimdal climbs up and finds a comfortable spot. He nods at Tender's description, "That's about the gist o' it." He looks ahead down the dark road and then up at the night sky. "P'haps we could take turns sleepin'? No use in us all bein' tired when we get ta our destination. There should be enough room fer us ta take turns catchin' some shut eye."
Fletcher looks at Orimdal "you sleep. If I need you to drive the cart, I will wake you." He looks at everyone else "Someone else should stay up and keep watch. And...wake me if i start to fall asleep."

“I will take responsibility for what I have done. [...] If must fall, I will rise each time a better man.” ― Brandon Sanderson, Oathbringer.
Kallista snaps out of her reverie and realizes the others are climbing back into the carriage. She quickly stands, following them in. "It was quite brightly colored. Red and white," she adds to Tender's description. "And that sounds like a good plan to me. You should definitely let Orimdal take over at some point and get some sleep. I'd rather you not nod off at the reins and send us into a ditch." She adds the last part rather hastily, trying to convince both the others and herself that she isn't starting to care about him.

Evi gives Tender an incredulous look as she describes the "bird" some of the group has been seeing before hearing Fletcher and saying, "I'll keep first watch with you...though please don't make me to drive it tonight as I'm hoping for an uneventful evening." Shuffling her way towards the front, she'll sit next to Fletcher and begin scanning the surrounding area.
"An uneventful evening would be nice," Tender agrees, snorting. "Feel free to wake me when you get tired, Evi," she says, curling her tail around her ankles and attempting to get comfortable in the carriage. "I'm happy to take second watch." Though preparing to sleep, Tender still stays awake for a while, staring out at the surrounding area with the same wide-eyed curiosity she's been sporting all day.
"I'll take second watch as well." Kallista pulls her hood and mask back up, then bends her knees up towards her chest, tail threading through her legs. Her eyes close, and as she drifts off into a light sleep, her hand subconsciously moves to rest on the dagger at her side.
Jullar takes in your account of the creature, seeming to be working something out in his head. He does not sleep, and every so often his face dons a look of epiphany and realization, only to figure out that he must be wrong. The first several hours are uneventful, the jungle producing some unnerving sounds, but Jullar assures you the creatures that make them are small and harmless. They make scary noises like the ones you hear to scare off predators and other enemies.
Suddenly at one point, Jullar shouts, "I've got it!" He stands abruptly, hitting his head against the top of the carriage. He rubs his head, wincing. His shout has woken all of you up though.

"Wha??" Tender jerks awake, flailing arms and tail until she realizes they aren't under attack. "Oh, be careful," she cautions, seeing Jullar rubbing his head. "What have you got?"
Evi whips around at the exclamation , drawing her dagger as she does so, but stows it away when she realizes that it was only Jullar. "Please don't do that" she sighs, "And what is it that you've 'got' in the middle of the night?"
Kallista jolts awake and is standing in an instant, both daggers pointed at the source of the noise. She deflates when she sees it was just Jullar shouting, and sits back down, but doesn't stow the blades. She feels the man has already been sufficiently bombarded with questions of what he 'got,' so she keeps quiet.
"The creature." Jullar says simply. "The one you've claimed to see. Well, that three of you claim to have seen. I remember old stories of a creature similar to the one you've described, called the Zurstacan Chimera. It's said to be the only creature native to the lost city of Zurstac."

"Curious," Orimdal says as he blinks his eyes a bit to wake up, "Why would such a creature only just appear now? Do any o' the ol' stories tell o' omens or misfortune that follow the beast?"

"Ah, determination, I like it." Jullar grabs his pack and slings it over his shoulders. "I guess we should be off then."
