Craben will just roll his eyes at Aazon's joke. "If you'd please hurry and show us the guides I'd most appreciate it. We still have other business to attend to today."
Aazon gestures to himself proudly. "Why indeed you do!
Ah... it seems that we have a bit of a sourpuss today. Are you not enjoying the lovely rain and beautiful plants that surround you? Either way, if you are so impatient to head out; I guess out is where we shall go." He jovially leaps down the steps and gestures for you to follow him. As he then eagerly strides off towards where you came from. As you pass through the city streets once more Aazon points out many sites and other villas. Some of which you've seen before but others are quite new. "And that right there is Ifan's villa. He's the prince of beasts here in Nyanzaru. A bit of a grouch too, but don't tell anyone I said that." As you pass back into the Harbor Ward Aazon greets several of the workers there, giving thumbs up signs and shouts of approval, while also unconsciously dodging the steps of the great behemoths that occupy Port Nyanzaru.
You make it past the archway that you went through upon your arrival and see the ship that was being repaired is still there. It has been heavily worked on but seems to still need a bit of repair. Aazon guides you towards it and gestures to the workers who are patching up the ship. "FAROUL! GONDOLO! COME DOWN FROM THERE!" You see two workers' heads snap towards Aazon's statement. You also see that they are actually standing on top of one of the beasts, it has three horns and a great big frill coming out of its neck. Said two workers then slide down off of the creature, and run towards you. As they get closer you see that they are not actually Chultan. The first of them is a human, a Calishite human to be precise dressed in what probably were once quite exquisite clothes, but they have obviously not been thoroughly cleaned/pressed/etc... in some time. The other is a small halfling with wispy wight hair. Several pieces of parchment sit inside of his belt. The human then speaks up, standing rather rigid and straight and speaks, a tinge of haughtiness can be heard in his voice: "Greetings and salutations. I am Faroul, and this is my companion: Gondolo. Now, I know what you are thinking: why should I pick up Faroul and Gondolo? Well, I shall tell you, friend, you see there are two of us, and we only go for the price of one! Not only that but we also have the amazing..." he nods over to his halfling companion who begins making a drumroll sound on his knees. "ZONGO!" He gestures to the huge beast that they were standing on. In response the creature... does nothing. Faroul then whispers to Gondolo "Uhh... I'll be right back... Entertain them or something." He then runs off towards the dinosaur. The halfling then speaks up "*Heh-hem* I once met a fair lad from Chult" Faroul grabs a huge strap around the creature's neck. "Who found himself unable to float." He then pulls as hard as he can, but his strength is nothing when compared to the great beast. "But he boarded that ship," Seeing that his other action didn't work he then begins to whistle trying to coax the creature towards him. "And took a great slip," The creature still does nothing. "But that is just one of his faults." Finally, Faroul produces a vibrant fruit as the creature immediately gets up and leaps towards him, causing for Faroul to flee in terror from the dinosaur as it bounds after him. Barreling towards you right as Gondolo finishes his last line, the dinosaur comes to a halting stop as Faroul hurls the fruit up into the air and the monstrosity eagerly follows it around up into the air until it falls into its mouth. Gondolo, meanwhile is admiring his handiwork with his limerick, when a huge dinosaur foot comes right in front of him, almost squashing him but just barely not. Then the creature sits down and munches on its snack while Faroul and Gondolo gather around and show it off. Faroul then approaches back to you all. "So! Not only do we have a two for one cost, but we also have a triceratops that you can use to carry things like rain catchers! In addition, we know of many ancient sites and sacred places for you to head to, and by then you'll be swimming in gold and magic. All those other guides might make you work for your fortunes, but don't be fooled... Faroul" "And Gondolo!" "Will return you to Port Nyanzaru with tales and fortunes to last a lifetime."
Craben will look towards the pair; a little skeptical of their abilities.
”I have some questions for you before we decide on wether we hire you or not. You’re not obviously from Chult so why are you here? How long have you been here? Do you speak the native tounge? What languages do you speak? How many times have you guided people into the jungle? Are they all back safe? If not how many are? Can we talk to anyone you have previously guided? Do you have any special skills? Combat experience?”
At the end of his extensive list of questions he’ll look at them expecting answers.
The pair looks a bit flabbergasted at Craben's exhaustive list of questions, but they nevertheless answer each one. "Well my good sir, we're here to seek the thrill of adventure! We've been here for a couple months or so, doing the rounds, earning Zongo here." "We both speak common plainly enough, I can speak halfling, and he speaks elvish. Not only that but I also speak the language of living things, for don't all things communicate in a more natural form than our simply tongues can create?" Gondolo then pauses, creating a sort of dramatic effect. After a couple moments of the lot of you staring at the halfling expecting something else to happen Faroul fills the silence. "Aaaaanyway... We've guided people into the jungle several times, although I cannot recall exactly what they are doing now..." He pauses and strokes his beard. "Oh! There was that one fellow, Jim was his name, some Damaran from Neverwinter seeking their fortune. We helped him out right quick and soon set him off back to from whence he came." Faroul nods eagerly at Gondolo's statement. "Ah yes. He just loved to fold up those little slips of paper in - what did he call it - ori-gemo? Oragari? No matter, what is important that we are indeed experienced. Why, I've fought off a horde of Batiri myself!" He draws a shortsword and thrusts it to the side in a stabbing motion. "Hurrah!" Gondolo then adds on. "That's right! Also, we are quite capable trackers. I bet you a crown that I could find your tracks on a beach even after the rain!" He gestures towards Yosben.
Gwen nods, ackgnowledging the halfling's performance, stroking her hand along her scarf and laughs as Zongo chases after the fruit in Faroul's hand. She then walks up to Zongo and asks: "Can I touch him?" She immediately startes stroking his head before waiting for an answer.
(Answering Craben) "Why not? You are right though, he would be a nice addition."

"The hero sought to save the world.
"If I keep trying, I'll be able to win," the hero thought.
But the harder the hero fought, the further the world seemed to tumble away.
Drowning in doubt, the hero could not even save themselves.
Hero, if you still believe in a brighter future, hold in your heart a thorn that can pierce all doubt."
The skin is rough and strange. It feels as if you're stroking the hide a humongous lizard, yet you've never felt something like it. You also notice something else. Zongo... does not smell that great. You're not entirely sure what it is, but something about him just turns your nostrils' sour. Nevertheless, as you are all leaving Faroul and Gondolo give you a parting word. "By the way good sirs: we are willing to work with you for 5 gold a day, with 30 days up front. However, if you're willing to work on an equal-shares basis we'd happily lower our rate!"
As you leave Aazon turns to all of you. "So! That was the first of several of Jobal's guides. I cannot wait to meet the next one, though feel free to deliberate upon these thoughts as you see fit."
On the way to the next guide Craben will air out his opinion on the guides we just met.
”There’s only two real problems I have with them. One is that their not local so I’m worried they don’t know the jungle as well as some other guides. What if we run into a rare and dangerous creature and they don’t know what to do? I also didn’t like their introduction. It felt rehearsed and like a performance. Almost like they were trying to hard. I do like price negotiation though. What are your thoughts?”
"I agree with you, but I also have a few doubts about their combat skills. 'Fighting off a hoard of Batiri'? First: I don't even know what they are. Second: They must be taking advantage of my lack of knowledge and they are harmless creatures, or he is exaggerating..." Yosben says. "But I say only if the other guides are worse, we should probably stay away from the pair. They did have a dinosaur, though..."
Aazon cheerfully moves on as he continues. "Splendid! Splendid indeed. Anyway, come now there is no time to lose!" You all then continue over the flagstone streets of Port Nyanzaru. As you pass the Grand Souk you see the cloth merchant Klevin give you a wave, and as you make your way back into the Market Ward. Several tabaxi street performers gather crowds with feats of acrobatics, while many workers patch up incredibly old houses. You eventually find yourselves brought to a familiar establishment: The Thundering Lizard. The raucous atmosphere immediately slams into you like a tidal wave as even in the morning many people dwell within the rowdy tavern. Aazon easily weaves through the crowd of tavern patrons as he moves to a table taken by a lone dwarf. The dwarf has a terrible gash on the right side of his face and his left arm is terribly burnt. Aazon waits expectantly as eventually the dwarf gruffly lets out: "Whadda ye want Aazon." Aazon responds with a quick "Well Hew, as you can plainly see you have visitors!" Hew gives a short harumph and says "Ye all want a guide who knows 'bout Chult then? Well I've stood atop every mountain -" he takes a large swig from his flagon of ale (not tej) "I know every gorge and crevice, every plateau and trail. My memory is an iron trap. I forget nothing. Trust a dwarf, I always say, because a dwarf will never steer you wrong." He then nods to the other dwarf in kinsmanship. Finally retreating into his ale, believing that to be enough.
"I'm Craben this is Gwen and Yosben. I, of course, have some questions before we decide if we want to hire you. Are you from Chult? What languages do you speak? How many people have you guided into the jungle and what is your success rate of bringing them back alive? Do you have any special skills? Combat abilities? And finally what's your price?"
The dwarf places his mug down and stares into Craben's eyes. "Do I look like I'm from Chult, laddy? Came here some years ago, but I've been exploring these jungles longer than you could imagine. There's not a place I don't know in that jungle. As fer languages, Dwarvish, Chultan, and common o' course. That's all ye need in the jungle. The dead don't speak any languages anyway... so it doesnae matter none. As for those who've taken me up, they've all found what they were lookin' fer in the jungle through me. I'm better with a battleaxe than ye are and tough as steel. There be no undead, beast, or even dragon tha' scares me. A red dragon bit off my arm, and yet 'ere I stand. Takes more than a dragon to stop your future guide." He then takes a long gulp of his drink and continues: "Five gold a day for me services, and thirty days up front. But it'll be the best coin you'll ever spend."
Yosben laughs at the battleaxe comment. "Better than me with a battleaxe? I can barely lift one!" He pauses, then says, "Well, we will think about your offer, and will return if we would like to hire you."
Hew nods now that you've finished with his interview and resumes diving into his drink. Aazon nods and says: "Well! We're almost done, just a couple more to go." He then slinks through the raucous mob of tavern patrons, leaving you all to try and shove your way through (well... Yosben just kinda walks through given his size). Eventually you do indeed make it out and Aazon gestures for you to folllow him as he dips and dives through the bustling Chultans and other humanoids of the Port, seeming to ignore the heavy rain falling all around him. "Come now, let us see our next one. Though, I am quite glad that we have you." He looks towards Gwen, "Or else this interaction might not go as swimmingly."
You then make your way past another archway as the scenery shifts slightly, instead of the standard middle to middle-upper class housing that was present in the Market Ward you now see apartments and more inexpensive housing. Gone are the artisans and artists who populated the flagstone covered district you were just in, for they are instead replaced by animal trainers, river folk, people who look kind of like adventurers, and other rough and tumble sorts. As you enter you hear a great ROAR somewhere to the Southwest, but Aazon bids you to continue even with the loud cry. Eventually, you find yourselves passing through alleyways to come to a simply hill that is adjacent to the apartments and other lodgings that make up Tiryki Anchorage. Aazon then gestures to a lone humanoid sitting on a stump in meditation. "Musharib, you have possible patrons..." "Musharib" doesn't move at all so Aazon continues "Including a dwarf..." At that, the humanoid turns himself around and you see that he is one of the snow-white dwarves. As he looks all of you over his eyes come to focus on Gwen as he then speaks, but seems to only be speaking to Gwen, as if Aazon, Craben, and Yosben do not exist. "Hello, I am Musharib. The jungle is my home, so I know it well. I can guide you anywhere in Chult for only five gold a day, this is, of course, nonexistent if you are willing to take up a quest to dwarven honor: Retrieving Moradin's Gauntlet."
Craben looks back and forth between Gwen and Musharib before clearing his throat to attempt to get Musharib's attention.
"Yes, well. We're happy to meet you. Of course, we have some questions for you. How long have you been a guide? What is your success rate? Do you have any special skills? Magic? Combat experience?"
He does not acknowledge Craben's statement nor remove his focus from the other dwarf. "In the case that you were wondering, I have been a guide for only a year now, but I have been traveling in the jungle for all of my life. The explorers who take part in my tours have always come back safely, due in part to my communings with nature. You see I can speak with the natural world and use it to aid those who I guide in their explorations. Of course, if situations turn dire, you can always trust in Skullbash." He then produces a humongous hammer from somewhere underneath his cloak. It seems to be fashioned from a spatulate of bones from humongous reptiles, and it is gashed and scarred by weapons, claws, and teeth.
"Oh, I would love to have you with us! We need to check on a couple of other clients first before we make our desicion." Gwen is leaning twoards this guy as thier guide than the others.
