Backstory: Penn had never wanted to be a soldier. He wasn't as strong and brawny as the other young men. He had been forced into the military by his father "for his own good" who was a guard captain back in his hometown. When the undead had came in the middle of the night, he and the others in training and been called upon to take up arms and defend the town. During the battle though, he had been separated from the other four that had been part of his battle group and chased into a small cave he had found in the nearby mountains. When the cave had ended and he was trapped with two undead closing on his position, he had called out for someone, anyone to help him.
That's when he had seen something glow in the darkness. It beckoned him forward, to find it in the dirt and debris laying against the side of the cave. He brushed it off and it glowed even brighter, bidding him to wear the item, a collar of some sort. He placed it over his head, onto his neck and his mind began to reel from the information that flooded into it. He couldn't take it all and felt he might burst, then suddenly he heard a single word spoken in a guttural voice in his mind, "Brimstone" and he stood up with new purpose. He felt more at ease, taking out his weapon and shield.
As the undead found him, he turned, shield bashing the skeleton, knocking it backwards. He turned and carved his sword into the zombie with such force, it fell almost immediately. Turning back to the skeleton, he bashed and slashed at it several more times until it ceased to move again. Turning to leave, the zombie had begun to rise again and grabbed his foot, yanking him down, knocking the breath out of him. Anger washed over him as he swung his sword and beheaded the zombie to keep it from rising again. Penn lay in silence for a long while, his heart pounding in his chest, his breath ragged from his fright.
He headed back to his village a short while after, finding it rather empty. The undead had apparently ravaged the village, his father hadn't come back from the battle. He found his mother and sister hiding in their house. They had searched and found the bodies of the fallen, and the next day they had packed up. He helped moved his mother and sister to some relatives in the town of Red Larch, vowing to set out and destroy all the undead he came across.
Most githyanki are savage invaders, determined to carry out their instructions to the letter in order to serve their lich-queen. Jedavii was like that, until he fell off a raiding vessel while on a mission to the material plane. Miraculously, he survived, and was found by two halfling children who were exploring in the woods. He was nursed back to health back at their village, and treated very well by the halflings.
He took a shine to his new friends, eventually becoming one of them. He became cheerful and carefree, and he worshipped Yondalla, goddess of all halflings. Eventually, Jedavii became a protector of that halfling village, defending it against bears, hobgoblins and the like. They saw him as a bit of a hero - a big contrast from the raider that he was when he arrived.
One day, Jedavii went on a short trip to the town of Red Larch to pick up supplies for the village, unaware of what he'd find there.

Name: Z'ress Narcion
Race/Class: Half Elf Paladin
Backstory:
Z'ress was born in the city of Luskan to a human mother and one of the many Drow mercenaries that ran with Bregan Daerthe in the quest to help Jarlaxle rule the city from the shadows. From a young age the half elf was left to her own devices when not helping her mother run the small tavern her family owned on the docks. When it came to her father she only met him once or twice as he seemed to care little for her. Upon reaching her teenage years she gathered her belongings and said goodbye to her mother.
Z'ress traveled for a time before she joined up with a small adventure/mercenary band where she developed her fighting skills, using her human side to learn how to wield a Greatsword. Around this time she also found her calling under the the god Tyr. She considered the path of a cleric but had little patience for the cloistered life in a temple. To do more good she instead became a paladin and set off on her own to spread good through the world. Eventually she ended up in Red Larch after completing a new job, hoping to find a new one there.
Talvian was born to a circus troupe; his father was an artificer who used his skills to add excitement to the show; while his mother, a beast master of unparalleled skill, was one of the main stars of the circus. Talvian always looked up to both of his parents so once he was old enough he took up apprenticeship with both of them learning how to command the center ring. As time went on Talvian felt his act was not to the level it needed to be so with the blessing of his parents and the rest of the troupe he took off to hone his craft and see the wonders of the world. Talvian made his way from city to town to village playing in inns or squares staying for a few says then moving on and now his travels have brought him to Red Larch as the next step of his journey.
