As the group makes it out and finds some shelter to rest for a bit, Jedavii sits down, leans against a rock, and takes a breath as he bandages his wounds.
"Nice to fight alongside you guys." he says, before letting out a yawn. "I could make lunch here if you want, I'm quite good at cooking actually."
“A good fight indeed. You are quite good with that weapon Jedavii. It seems to sing in your hands. I could go for some bacon and fresh eggs (and a massive tankard of ale) but I’d be happy to share what you have.”
Si removes his shield, sits down, and starts wrapping the gashes he can get to with some strips of cloth. “Perhaps we can glean some information from those documents you recovered later.”
"That fight was definitely something," Talvian says sitting his bruised and battered body down. "Don't sell yourself short there Si you were damn fine with that hammer of yours. We make a pretty good team the three of us."
Talvian pulls his flute from his pocket, "Perhaps while Jedavii is cooking I can play us a little tune."
"Right? And your healing saved our lives, that's for sure!" the gith chirps as he gets to cooking. He listens to Talvian's flute as he mixes something together in a small portable oven, occasionally humming to himself. The smell of honey and cinnamon fills the air, and soon Jedavii has fresh bread/butter ready, and you can see swirls of honey and raisins in the dough.
After the group is all fed, Jedavii leads them back to the inn in town, where they all take a look together at the scroll that Jedavii couldn't read, as well as the Testament that they found.
When they arrive at Red Larch, Jedavii excitedly leads them toward the Swinging Sword. Over breakfast, the gith opens the Marlo's Testament book and peeks through it, looking for something that might provide a lead on the people whose compound they raided yesterday.
"Below the monastery? We'll have to go back, then. Sometime. We barely made it out of the Monastery alive, so as much as I'd like to think the Black Earth temple will be the same I'm not quite sure." Jedavii says, concerned.
"Whoa!" Si looks astonished. "I had heard tales of my ancestors' having a stronghold back in the day, but I thought them mere rumors. I agree, we need to go back and see what mischief these cultists are up to." Si takes another swig before continuing. "Perhaps we should find others who might know about this temple, or at least about this upstart Marlos. And we still don't know what those other strange symbols mean."
Si sits back and sighs loudly. "I could use a good eight hours of shut eye to be honest. What do you all think?"
"Every answer we get seems to lead to more question," Talvian sighs. "But I am with you on needing some sleep. Perhaps we spend today gathering supplies and resting then tomorrow we return to the monastery. There are a few items I need to get and some preparation I wish to make before another harrowing venture."

The travel backs was through the night. And you arrive at Red Larch at the break of day.
When they arrive at Red Larch, Jedavii excitedly leads them toward the Swinging Sword. Over breakfast, the gith opens the Marlo's Testament book and peeks through it, looking for something that might provide a lead on the people whose compound they raided yesterday.

"So can you read any of it?" Talvian asks between bites of food.
After skimming through the first page you learn the someone named Marlos Urnrayle is the prophet of earth.
"Marlosa. And a prophet no less. Does the book describe what these crazies are up to?" Si chews on a piece of bread and takes a big gulp of ale.

"Let's see..." Jedavii moves over and holds the book so the other two can see it, and keeps reading.
After a lot more reading you get some more information.
Marlos was drawn to a place called "the Fane of the Eye" by powerful visions. Then he found "Ironfang the Holy Implement of Earth Power.
Marlos established the Temple of The Black Earth in the ruins of a long-abandoned dwarven stronghold that exists below The Sacred Stone Monastery.
He nurtures something called the Black Geode, and when all is ready "the ever growing mountain shall come and remake the lands in his own image.
