"It's possible," Bitenose says. "They are not the most intelligent of animals, but they are more intelligent than most others. It has been known that an owlbear can be tamed. However, not many people spend the time it takes to tame an owlbear. And Grol is certainly not one of them. There is loyalty to Grol in that an owlbear."

Rashana is a bit skeptical about the talking to the owlbear. "I think talking to it might not be a good idea. We might end up fighting it..." She thinks for a moment. "Maybe we can try to lock it up. So Grol won’t be able to release it on us."
"I agee," Saravena says adding her two cense in. "While owlbears can be intelligent I do not believe they are to the point of conversation, save for magical means, so talking with it will not get us very far if anywhere."
“Well if we want to break it out I got a few tools that might help but I think the surprise ambush would be a better idea. We could kill Grol before he releases the owl bear all the better.”

Bitenose shrugs, "Looks like you most of you are in agreement then. Most of you just want to ambush Grol and then deal with the owlbear afterwards. Can't say I blame you, it might be a useful ally. Though there is the risk the owlbear would just attack."
Bitenose then begins to back away, heading towards the door that he indicated that Grol would be behind.
"Shall we go then?"

"Same tactic again Bitenose...open the door, get their attention, try to draw them out and then we ambush the group, magic first, blades to follow...Let's go". Tagret's blood starts to pump as he feels the closeness of battle.

He would just call for more guards and before you know you'll be outnumbered. The only way you to get to Grol is by surprising him in that room.
Besides you wouldn't want to risk the dwarf being used as a shield"

"Fine" Tagret says, starting to get annoyed, "When I open the door, throw as spell or two to take out as many as you can, then we are in and getting bloody"
Tagret moves to door and flings it open, given Eniwin and Damian the opportunity to throw and prepared spells before letting out a snarl and dashing in, triggering Rage as a bonus action if it is obvious there are a number of opponents in front of him

This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Seeing the action about to kick off Saravena takes a deep breath while thinking to herself, Well no time like the present to try this I have done everything right so it should work, then she takes the palm of her left hand and presses it down on the tip of the bolt she has loaded in her crossbow until she draws blood taking 3 damage. Taking her now bleeding palm Saravena spreads a line of blood across the bow of her crossbow, a moment later the blood sparks wreathing the bow in crimson lightning. A smile forms on Saravena's lips as her experiment turns out successful she will then follow Tagret into the room crossbow up ready to fire at anything attacking.
As Eniwin's fire bolt flies in through the door, you hear a cry of pain in response.
When you all enter in through the door you find yourselves in a chamber which has been set up as a crude living space, with thick furs thrown on the floor to serve as carpets, old trophies hanging on the walls, a large bed to the north, and a brazier of coals burning brightly. A round table with several chairs stands to the south near the door. Near the table, on the floor, is an unconscious dwarf who looks badly beaten.
In the middle of the middle stands a large fierce looking bugbear. Upon his head rests a broken scrap of metal, which looks to be worn like a crown. He looks advanced in age as his body is slightly hunched over. The hairs on his arm are lightly singed where Eniwin's fire bolt has struck him. Standing next to King Grol, is a large wolf that equally looks intimidating and fierce.
However, Grol is not alone. A young female drow stands with him as if they were in conversation before being interrupted.

Rashana nods. "Good idea. Plus, he won’t be altered for our presence."
Still keen on that plan himself, Tagret quickly asks "Bitenose....can the owlbear be talked to...reasoned with?"
