Misha recalls that Erken the Excellent was a renowned human wizard of skill and knowledge. Born centuries ago, Erken displayed a magical aptitude from an early age. He dedicated his life to the study and mastery of various arcane arts.
One of Erken's most notable accomplishments was his successful summoning of a powerful creature known as a spectator. Through years of rigorous research and arduous experimentation, Erken delved deep into the forbidden arts of conjuration and planar binding. His unwavering determination and unparalleled understanding of the magical arts allowed him to form a bond with a spectator from the ethereal realm.

“The secret we should never let the gamemasters know is that they don't need any rules.” ― Gary Gygax
Misha reflects on an old book he read as a child "You, must be the spectator Erken summoned. What, you're saying, is, you've been in contact with a human born more than five hundred and twenty years ago? We, live at the most, a hundred and twenty, but most only make it to forty.
The only one here, that could of even known him would be Mormesk the Wrath. Your evil wizard friend next door. Are you sure its not Mormesk that's been fooling you? When was the last time you went beyond this room? None of the wizards or dwarfs, that were here survived the battle with the orcs. And if there was any dwarves they never told where this place was. Its been lost to history my friend, till now. My friend, this Dwarf Gundren Rockseeker intends to claim it. The town of Phandelin would benefit greatly from, this place."
Rashana's eyebrows shoot up and she glances at Misha. Sometime he surprised her. She finds his conjecture quite interesting, then nods slowly, ready to add weight to any attempt Misha might make to persuade the creature...
"I have not left this room," the creature responds sounding affronted. "I have remained here as I was instructed to do so. I will remain here until told otherwise. I don't know of any battle with orcs. However, I am aware of that ghastly wraith. He is the one who sends the undead this way."

Thankful, for a more reasonable being to talk to "We need help in destroying Mormesk, any suggestions? Maybe a holy weapon. Some armor." he thinks upon their situation peering around the shop "We need a short rest too, may we stay in here?"
"Unfortunately, I am not aware of any holy weapons on this plane of existence. However, there are weapons on the table, one of which would help in a fight against the undead. Yet, these are the weapons that I have been tasked with guarding. I cannot let you have them,"the spectator replies. "However, if you want to rest here, you may. So long as you do not make an attempt to take anything from this forge."

"But, the one who tasked you with this purpose, Erken the Excellent, has long passed away, died. Why would you honor the commands, of a dead master?" He looks concerned for the ball of eyes in front of him "You must be really bored."
The spectator rotates back and forth, almost like a giant shaking head on top of an invisible body, "You are mistaken. I saw Erken only a few hours ago."

Misha shakes his head. "The man died, at least more than 400 years ago, the undead and stirges reside here now. If the man was alive, surely Erken wouldn't let Mormesk continue his foul deeds would he? Time while in service for you seams to be eschewed. If you can read my mind, you may." He thinks of all that he knows of history, the state of Phandelver/Phandelin now. Of the events, that brought them here. He pictures how desolate this mine is, devoid of life.
Saravena is a little concerned her companions questions are going to turn the spectator onto them but for now she takes the invitation to rest as offered and sits back against the wall to rest.

Rashana's brows furrow slightly, "Erken's true nature, with effort of mind alone, maybe determined."
Saravena has no idea who this miscreant may be but looks to the others in case they do....

Saravena watches carefully, the creature is being lied to but its probably best to let that lie for the moment.
She nods at the others questions.

Rashana frowns at the creature, unsure what it means. Or what it thought she meant.
Each of the others in turns hears Rashana's voice in their head,
"Deceived it may be,
The wizard taking Erken's form,
Makes a loyal slave."
“Will we be safe here if the undead are still able to pass through here? Maybe we should find a better place to rest.”
" Eyeballs here will keep watch for us. Wont you?"
"Maybe, we'll get to meet this Erken while we're here, I'd sure like some pointers in magic."
