Arcana: 23
As Vigil considers on his training, he recalls that will-o'-the-wisps are generally malicious undead manifesting as ball lightning, with a capacity to drain life from those they drop and turning invisible at will, much like the Invisibility spell. Tricksters eager to sap the life out of those who fall for their lights. The thing is, they typically manifest in swamps, forests, and other areas requiring a guide... This is not one of those places, and these that you all see don't seem to be trying to lure you to anything.
In fact, as you continue to watch, they... seem to be "living lives" as it were, as if they were trying to clean the building they are currently in, flickering into view before disappearing once not in sight. Yes, the difficulty in conveying it is there, but in short: You see them when they are in your field of view, complete with their aura of light, but the moment they are out sight, they disappear including their glow.

"Not very usual for wisps to act like this, or to be found in this kind of place altogether", remarks Vigil. "Doesn’t seem like they’ve seen us. Otherwise, they’d be trying to get us closer to sap our vitality."
Finding the whole thing rather curious, Vigil crouches down and begins to move quietly towards their position to get a better look. "We should check it out.", he whispers. "Stay on your guard."

(How many could we see from where we were?)
(You have seen three individuals... as best as you can tell since they all look pretty uniform in being humanoid, and vaguely yellow in color.)
You will have to climb down from the tower you were in to try and approach the other building... Then climb up it. However, it will be easier to climb the other one, even stealthily, since the walls have various bricks missing, making some quite convenient handholds.

Zack watches as Vigil climbs down and then inspects the walls across to the other rooftop. He takes the high road, climbing across the wall to make his way to the other building.

(Not what I intended to portray, but *sure* let's go with this. lol)
Zack is able to make it across easily and is now at a chunk of wall about 20 feet above the window they saw the wannabe will-o's. Vigil at the base of the building (a further 20 feet below) does not see any motion in the window anymore of any kind, and Zack... doesn't exactly have a good way to see being above it.

(OOC - ah my bad. I read it that there was a way across the rooftops haha. Is there a path to the roof at all for Zack to clumb up? Or is it just down? I just imagine this mage clinging to the side of the wall... "I'm ok, I'm ok..." haha)

(Yep. This particular building is in pretty poor shape relatively speaking. Lots of handholds to go up, and it's very dry so no risk of slippin

This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Zack climbs to the top, looking around the roof for a similar entry to the last building (Perception: 8; Passive Perception: 19; Passive Investigation: 20). He then writes a quick note and sends it down to the others via his mage hand.

There is a hidden entrance, well camouflaged into the worn stone of the roof.

Kalgren stayed put and watched the other two take their seperate route. He had no idea yet who of the two to follow but figured he could provide ranged support should something happen. He was not going to wade into a dangerous situation unprepared if it was not safe. The aching pains on his torso were a good reminder of that. Better safe than sorry, he told himself.
He turned to Oriander. 'Do your tales and legends mention any of this? Or that?'He nudged his head towards the glowing lights Vigil was approaching.
OOC: apologies for the lack of posts. Been a hectic week.

"Only 'Worlds past may be found within the Mother Mouth, for it is where we all came.'" Oriander says as he picks up a brick or two. Vigil can frontline, so he thinks, and Zach is a wizard... They should be okay if they get ambushed, while he will protect the one that was expressly targeted by the monsters.

Vigil stands at the base of the building, weapon in hand and ready to enter. He quietly tip-toes inside and scans the room for any sign of the wisps.
Perception: 15
The wisps are very visible as Vigil peeks in. Up close, he can see some details on them through the glow... Seemingly a male and a couple females as they wordlessly shuffle through the room, tidying things up. They appear to be tangible at least, physically moving things. Their faces have... very elven features. High cheek"bones", angular jaws, the hint of points on their ears.
Watching from the rooftop, Zack sees Vigil enter the building and so quietly opens the rooftop hatch and looks inside as well (Perception: 21).
Zack finds what seems to be a storage room of some kind. Chests and crates fill the room, mostly open and empty, or coated in black stains of what might have once been food. A lone wisp stands in the room, looking at a couple of the chests that are actually closed.

Zack considers the sight before him, then decides to speak up. "Ah, excuse me, friend," he says with his head poking through the rooftop hatch, "My apologies for the intrusion, I seem to have gotten myself stuck here on the roof. Might I come in? Perhaps I can be of assistance in repayment for the intrusion?"
Odd...Thinks Vigil as he watches the wisps to about their business. He then hears Zack calling out to them. Well, so much for subtlety...
He steps out in the open and stows his weapon away while keeping a hand on the handle. He tries to catch their attention by noisily clearing his throat.
"Pardon me. Couldn’t help but notice you all in the middle of this abandoned ruin. Name’s Vigil. Who or what are you?", he asked bluntly.
