"Apparently we were summoned by the Gods at the moment of our passing to help thwart a great evil." she crinkles her face a bit "But as to more than that I'm still awaiting enlightenment. Though I will be sure to let you know once I do." she smile back "I hope you will let me know if your songs bring you the answer first, eh?"
With a light step that belies his massiveness, Kronk steps out with Mama Chan to his left, keeping an eye out to that flank, but not neglecting the other potential trouble vectors.
"Ever wonders you meanings being of, Mam Chan?" Kronk asks his companion. "Strange place, world, wes here beings, not so?" He sniffs the air not unlike a hound seeking the spoor of a fox. Survival 9

sivir and elrodin, you are looking around for any threats, so focused that you nearly miss the blue eyes that peek out at you from the underbrush. there are two, then four then six. you hear a hissing noise, and out comes....the cutest little creatures that you have ever seen. they look like a mix between dandelion fluff and a hedgehog. noticing they have been seen, they amble over to you. they seem familiar, but you can't place it.

Elrodin stops for a moment to kneel down as the creatures approach, one hand slowly reaching for his hand-crossbow at his hip. Nonetheless, the High Elf doesn't make any sudden movements, instead, he observes.
(ooc: DM, you said they're "familiar", is there a check to make to see if we know more?)
no need, you have never acctually seen the species, but you have heard of them. they are called dream jumpers. no-one knows why they are called that, but they are said to have originated on the plane of dreams and are mostly harmless. the jumper ambles towards you and carefully snuffles your foot.
Elrodin smirks at the small creature as it gets real close. "You're inquisitive, aren't you...?" he says in a soft tone. The High Elf stands slowly, not wanting to make the little thing jumpy, and turns to the others. "They don't seem too deadly, perhaps we should move on? But keep your eyes focused, as this forest seems..." he trails off as he gazes around and into the trees surrounding them.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
I giggle and crouch down to look at the little fluff balls. Fishing through my pack I pull out some travel rations and break some up to offer them. I hum a quiet tune to sooth their nervous little minds. It's nice to look at something pretty for a moment after the horror of the past several hours.
Still I watch the critters carefully in case one of them has a mind to nip my finger. [Perception 14]
OOC: All this while the meta gaming demon on my shoulder screams "This is a horror game dummy, they are clearly impregnated with face huggers!"
Jumpy is in their name. five more of the little chaps come out, and jump onto the saddle, the bags, one even jumps onto Kronk.Sivir it is at this point you remember that there is another reason these things are called dream jumpers. when they are touched by a foreign being, they have a nasty little predator prevention mechanism. they have a tendency to explosively expel their spines, which are coated in an immensely strong natural sleeping dust. and now five of them are standing over you carrying enough dust to put to sleep a small army, and they dont seem to be budging.

it ambles over to Kronk, and sniffs him. it seems to scrunch up its snout, and walks to the next party member.
