Borus gives a shrug. "Aye. But that was for the... creatures. As of now, I can only guess to continue onwards, following the stairs. I do not mind taking lead, however, by the way you fought Kraven, I would would suggest you up in the front as well, you are more likely to be more... perspective than I." Borus, raising his hands defensively and talking once more in a calm tone, "I am not taking charge by all means friends, I am however giving my opinion. I believe two fighters (melee) should cover front and rear, and a scout in the front as well while ranged takes middle in case of close combat." Borus walks to one the steps and places a foot on the first step, looking downwards to wherever the stairs lead. "I will gladly be the shield of my friends, however we must make a decision now if we want to get off of the mountain as soon as possible."
Kraven nods his head in agreement and then moves to the stairs and makes his way downward leading the group underground as quietly as he can, checking along the way for anything out of the ordinary. In Borus's voice, "I signal, safe to move ahead."
Kraven will stay about 40' in front of the group leading them down but won;t go into any room without them right behind me.
Caal “sheathes” his long sword as it’s appears to simply disintegrate into ice that falls the the ground, replacing the amulet back to around his neck.
Seeing the others start to take formation, Caal hangs back, comfortable bringing up the rear...
(Do we have a light source? If not, Khalani will cast Light on his mace before they go in.)
"Bide a moment, friends. Give me a few minutes to cast Detect Magic. It'll last about 10 minute and could give us valuable information, here at the beginning."
Settling himself, Khalani casts the spell as a ritual and then they all head into the dungeon.
Borus nods his head to his friends as they start to decend. He thanks Khalani for the light, and tell him he does not mind waiting whatsoever. Once prepared, he begins the decent down the stairs right behind Kraven.
(ooc: Caal can see in darkness due to Innvocation, but a source of light for those that can't is always useful)
The White Dragonborn nods in agreement with Khalani as the human conducts his ritual. "That is a good idea, my friend; it is always worth going into a place like this well prepared" he says as Khalani finishes, and the party begin to enter the spiraling stairs downwards into the relatively unknown...
The staircase is badly rusted but appears to be sturdy. The air inside the passageway is warm, humid and rather foul. You reach the bottom of the stairs with a splash— the floor is submerged beneath a foot of water.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Standing in the water, Khalani first plunges the mace head into the water to see what that illuminates and then holds it high.
Perception: 10
(Did he notice anything magical on the way down the stairs? And please let me know when it runs out, it it didn't take us 10 minutes to get down here. It lasts for 10 minutes and we may wish to cast another.)
As Caal brings up the rear and is the last person to step into the room at the bottom of the stairs he scoffs as his boot enters the foot of algae-filled water. "Urgh, just what we need; a hunt for artifacts in a damned flooded dungeon..." Caal says with no amount of subtly in hiding the disdain in his voice. Looking to Khalani, the White Dragonborn speaks again "... anything register on your magical senses? I have a familiarity with similar power, though it's source is quite different" Caal muses, eyes looking towards the one-and-only way forwards.
(ooc: Caal is referring to one of his Invocations, Eldritch Sight, which means he can cast Detect Magic at will if we need it in a pinch vs a ritual :D )
As you all turn the corner, you see a sphinx block the path, with detect magic you see a wall that is blocking you and the sphinx, his loud voice booms “Answer my riddle and you shall pass.
Kraven listens to the sphinx with growing understanding, and answers in its own voice, "Moon." Then waits a for the creature to responds, one small foot tapping impatiently in the water.
The sphinx looks at you, ant thinks for a moment. “You may pass” After walking past him you come across a three way pass, one passage going to the left, another one going to the right, and one heading straight.
Glad that the party saw the magical wall, lest they walked into a sort of trap, the Dragonborn again is the last to come around the corner. Caal's mind wanders as the sphinxs finishes its riddle, pondering over a few answers as the Kenku chirps up with an answer.
"Hmm... that makes a lot of sense, good..." Caal seemed to agree, nodding appreciatively at Kraven.
Qatya chimes in very late with, "My Aunt Ashma?" Then her mind catches up to her mouth and she blurts out, "Moon! Of course! Why didn't I think of that?" She chuckles and walks toward the right hallway.

(Edit it to say look down)
Made you look.
(Okay forgot to mention, the stairs lead down.)
"I'll walk in front." Qatya says with an upraised maul.

(OOC: Realized I made a mistake and had two green magic items instead of white ones. Fixed the problem.)

The only thing that you can see under the water is bits of algae. One hallway exits this room.
Qatya will move to guard the way forward offering to help to Kraven on their next perception check.

Round she is, yet flat as a board
Alter of the Lupine Lords
Jewel on black velvet, pearl in the sea
Unchanged but ever changing, eternally.”
Kraven listens to the sphinx with growing understanding, and answers in its own voice, "Moon." Then waits a for the creature to responds, one small foot tapping impatiently in the water.

Forgot to mention, the wall breaks when you answer the riddle.
