Bubs would adjust his glasses, and his stance to look up at Hawke when he'd approach the counter. It was definitely a change in neck angle compared to addressing his fellow gnome. The shopkeep would dip his hat to Xalkas. "Please continue browsing the brooches and enjoying your tea as I assist your friend." He'd excuse himself politely before proceeding to address the druid. The unseen servant would remain ready to tend to Xalkas' requests for refreshments or browsing of items.
"Care for crumpets, cake or candy?" Bubs would gesture towards the spread bobbing his brows. "Caffeine?" He'd pour a tea. "Cup and cream?" He'd offer. If Hawke didn't take it, he'd take it with him. "Come, come." The shopkeep would wave his hand, encouraging him to follow. "Can't keep a chipper chap cornered. Carry your kit and caboodle." He'd usher him to the other side of the counter. "Cacti?" The gnome would point to a pair of cactus in a pot. "Cool or campy?" He'd chuckle. "Keep calm cadet." He'd assure. "Cashier currently calculating to count coins." He'd wink, tapping his temple to tell he was doing the math.
Cacti:3
"Ahh yes." The older gentleman's eyes would fall over the heavy book with a grin, finally breaking out of the pattern for Hawke. "It's a gnomish Tinkering Trickster Tome. It's enchanted to suddenly become heavy if picked up by an unknown hand. A cheeky booby trap to protect the book if you will." He'd explain. Bubs would pluck a key from an impression in the book, then use it to turn a dial at the base of the spine. A small pen would present itself and the clasp would unhinge. He'd flip the book open, presenting a signing page.
Hawke felt a little guilty of taking Bubs' attention away from Xalkas, even if the gnome had been perusing the brooches for a while. He promised to the wizard that he would make his purchases quick as to not take too much of the shop keeps time, and also not to further tick off the tetchy tiefling outside. The druid takes his books and shuffles on over to the other side of the counter where business would be conducted.
At first, when the gnome spoke about crumpets and candy, Hawke looked interested. Then he continued with the alliterations, and that headache from before slowly starts returning. Now he could appreciate the man keeping on brand with the get up, but the druids brain could only handle so much in one go. Thankfully, it wasn't to the degree of the swaying person from earlier, but boy did it get close!
After a breath, the kalashtar regains focus, enough to listen to what he had to say regarding the heavy book. He watches Bubs with a curious eye when he moves to take out a surprise key and insert it in to the surprise dial. Then popped out a pen! "Oooh, neat! I'll take it!" The easily impressed druid says with a wide grin, taking the pen from the shop keeps hand and signs off on it. "Best coin I ever spent!"Could probably even give this the Xalkas later. He might like it himself.
He hands over the pen back to Bubs. "Thank you kindly, mister Bubs. If I ever wanna like..."He leans in a bit and lowers his tone. "Gift it to someone, I just gotta get them to sign and it won't get all heavy on 'em, right?"

"Rock and roll, you ruckus reluctant ramblers!"
"Now let's get you packed up." Without skipping a beat, the old wizard sporting a toothy grin would neatly gather Hawke's items. Clucking his tongue, he'd shuffle a little before coming up with a rectangular wooden box. Xalkas Bubs would look at Xalkas through his glasses that have slid to the edge of his nose. He'd stroke his beard a few times before moving to twist his mustache. A low chuckle would leave the scholars lips. "Ahh. I suppose I could spare a couple." He'd push his spectacles back into place before reaching into an inside jacket pocket to pull out two vials, offering them to the fellow gnome.

Bubs would straighten his posture, eyes narrowing as Xalkas would ask for a 15% discount. He'd stroke his beard once more, this time super slowly. After a long uncomfortable pause, the scholar would let out a boisterous chuckle. "Alright lad, I can entertain that discount considering the collection you and your companions have walked out with today." He'd nod. With that he'd accept his coin and wrap up the wizards items so he could be on his way.

Ebele's brows would furrow and her hair at the back of her neck would stand on end. "Wasn't that Benny?" She'd ask, standing up, taking steps towards the sound of the shuffling pair that collided with their distracted tiefling. "Did he look okay to you guys? Something didn't sound right." Her voice sounded a little concerned. Sure she only met the guy only about 30 minutes ago, but wasn't this a stark change? What was with the other steps shuffling him along so insistently. Was he being taken against his will? "Aren't they going in a different direction then where he came? Is that even a path?" The monk would turn her head over her shoulder as if to look back at the others.
T'chal'fronack'zcinicker growls, "BOLT, FLETCHING, QUIVER...WHATEVER!" He hunches down and stairs at the back end of the horse that pulls the wagon to glower. He ignores Ebele comment.
Immediately looking worried, Kerric drops his book onto the wagon and said, “Yes, it was definitely Benny. You say he was in trouble?”
Kerric leaps down and moves to follow the pair, already shedding his genial mood as the cultist presence in town makes him wonder if Benny’s aid earlier has put him at risk.

There was a quizzical smirk on Hawke's face when Bubs' told him to keep his, and others, wonder alive. It was a bit odd to say, but nonetheless, the druid says, with an affirming nod of the head, "Can promise you that."With the shop keeps magic trick, the grin grows into a smile accompanied by a laugh. He would watch it flutter off as Bubs moved to wrap and pack up his purchases.
When he was done, the kalashtar picks up his books and looks about ready to go, however stops when Bubs gives him a basket for treats and sweets. His eye brightens in delight. "Aww, sick! Thanks! Have a good 'un, Bubs!"The druid would pluck up a crumpet and take a bite, keeping the treat in his mouth as he makes his way out of the establishment.
"Guysh, look! I gots some treash n shtuff--" Hawke chews through his words, setting down the books at the back of the wagon to use his now free hand to hold the crumpet. His brows raise in interest when Ebele speaks about Benny, looking over to where her head was turned. He swallows then opens his mouth to say something, but Kerric was already on the move. "... Got that guy wrapped around your finger, don'tcha, Belle?" He snorts as he searches through the treats basket and pulls out a candy bar and hands it over to the tiefling. "Here, Snickers. You're not you when you're hungry." The druid sets down the basket in the wagon."I'ma go with 'im. Dunno if you guys wanna come too, but someone's gotta stay with the wagon and wait for Xalkas."
With that, he follows after the fighter, mainly for support.

Tracking was second nature to Hawke on his good days, and today was indeed a good day. He shoves the remainder of his crumpet in his mouth and leads the two on where he knows they went. Now when it came to stealthing...? He wasn't the greatest, but he did come prepared for this sort of thing.

Xalkas takes the proffered box cloak clasps and begins inspecting them as he listens to Bubs answer the rest of his questions. With a nod here and a hmmm there, quietly enjoying his tea while inspecting the clasps.
So absorbed in his inspection of them that he hardly noticed T'chal'fronack'zcinicker’s alliterative yelling. It as almost like his mind was someplace else dealing with very mundane matters. In fact he almost seemed startled when Bubs came back around. “I think I’m all set once the matter of potions of healing is settled.” Looking at all of the things assembled around him at this point asks, “What about a 15% buying in bulk discount ... from one scholarly gnome to another?”

T'chal's active perception : 6.
He barely notices as he's bumped into, while making his way to the wagon....his mind very much on his tardy and terrible tortiouslike teammates taking their time in the torturous territory of tome's and tea. Inside his head he yells incoherently at his own brain.

Reghys would very happily accept the wrapping and heads out of the establishment with a bounce in their step and a smile on their face. Seeing the anguish on T's face, they chime: " An anguished affectation and altered attitude? Beware, before becoming bound by boredom. Cheerful choices continuously change calamities. Don't dawdle, delight!"

Kerric:
The elven warrior laughs out loud at the mental picture of an entire quiver of arrows sticking out of their loquacious companion, especially since the fletching is all that typically sticks out--not the heads. All he can manage in response through his chuckles is, "Quite."

Inside
Xalkas
Bubs would look at Xalkas through his glasses that have slid to the edge of his nose.

Spell Scrolls

Bubs would straighten his posture, eyes narrowing as Xalkas would ask for a 15% discount. He'd stroke his beard once more, this time super slowly. After a long uncomfortable pause, the scholar would let out a boisterous chuckle. "Alright lad, I can entertain that discount considering the collection you and your companions have walked out with today." He'd nod. With that he'd accept his coin and wrap up the wizards items so he could be on his way.
Outside

Kerric:
Immediately looking worried, Kerric drops his book onto the wagon and said, “Yes, it was definitely Benny. You say he was in trouble?”
Kerric leaps down and moves to follow the pair, already shedding his genial mood as the cultist presence in town makes him wonder if Benny’s aid earlier has put him at risk.

There was a quizzical smirk on Hawke's face when Bubs' told him to keep his, and others, wonder alive. It was a bit odd to say, but nonetheless, the druid says, with an affirming nod of the head, "Can promise you that." With the shop keeps magic trick, the grin grows into a smile accompanied by a laugh. He would watch it flutter off as Bubs moved to wrap and pack up his purchases.
When he was done, the kalashtar picks up his books and looks about ready to go, however stops when Bubs gives him a basket for treats and sweets. His eye brightens in delight. "Aww, sick! Thanks! Have a good 'un, Bubs!" The druid would pluck up a crumpet and take a bite, keeping the treat in his mouth as he makes his way out of the establishment.
You're not you when you're hungry." The druid sets down the basket in the wagon. "I'ma go with 'im.

As his walk slowly grows into a crouch, his hand digs into his pouch and he pulls out a sort of powder and carefully sprinkles it on the ground.
