Lewin is still keeping his distance, but he's not sure how this will unfold and he is getting ready to react with arcane retribution. He finds a place to tuck himself out of the way of the lizardfolk.
This was a tight tunnel, it wouldn't fit passerby's, considering the leading force out the door was Flux, respectfully, with Leonardo. There were only two places along the length of the cave corridor that could accommodate it.
"A-alright men!"He said very openly, switching to [common]. "On our way out! Nice and easy, er, quickly! Make way for his kingship and entrouge, and DO NOT be antagonizing them or standing in their way, least there'll be a flogging awaiting ya!"Flux further warns the party as he made his way out. 'And fer the love of Valkner no backtalk!' He silently prayed. Once well outside and into the more open chambers, Flux pointedly made sure to step aside for the king along the southern wall, feigning focus on ushering the party(if any were any sight), to start heading towards the south western tunnel.
Perched silently at the back of the group, the blonde blindfolded half-elf had one ear pressed against the stone and the other open to the tunnel. She was listening, and feeling the tone of the conversations. Believing she could pick up what a flustered Flux was putting down, Ebele kicks their caboose into reverse. She 'pssts' quietly to Lewin then jerks her head to motion for him to fall back a bit to a better position for his leering. She takes hold of Xalkas' wrist and leads the way out.
Lewin, very skeptical of this arrangement, stays quiet. However, in order to keep an eye on the lizardfolk he'd have to take the monk's wisdom and fall back to tuck himself into a better position to do so.
Playing along for now, Kerric prepares to keeps himself out of the way of the “King” and his entourage when they pass by.
Map to follow along:
T'chal'fronack'zcinicker raises a scroll of paper and a pen towards Flux, "I mean, yes, of course, not, but...OBVIOUSLY that doesn't include the signature for our just recently formalized agreement here. The king MUST sign the accord, lest all of this be left to foggy imperfect memory." He holds the scroll and pen towards Flux, making sure the man obviously is ok with the presentment of a contract to seal the deal. Then to make things very clear he said to Flux, "We REQUIRE a contract. It's in our groups operating agreement, that no agreement shall be made with 3rd parties except by written contract. You signed it...and I KNOW you wouldn't want to breech your contract."
When T'chal'fronack'zcinicker steps up with the contract, Lewin thanks his stars he hasn't signed anything.
Almost as soon as T'chal'fronack'zcinicker began his spiel, not only had Flux broke out into a nervous sweat, but began waving his hand about his neck and shaking his head rapidly with a strained but toothy smiled. Knowing, however, that the motion might be lost in translation or worse yet misinterpreted, he's quick to add while reaching out to take the tieflings shoulder.

I'm sure you understand the importance of such things, being such a wise and powerful king."
"I-I handle the king's legal negotiations." Leonardo corrects their monocles. They lift a finger to the tiefling before him. "Y'you did not make an appointment w-with the Crown." They were wide eyed. If they could sweat, they would. However, Leo was an intelligent lizard. They glance at their book then back up. "Y-you're in luck. I-I happen to have an opening, right now." They look back up and tentatively glance up to Flux before looking back to the tiefling. "W-we can continue this in a more suitable location t-the King carries on with his prior engagements." They encourage the tiefling to lead the way out. Should the tiefling glance to the King, while incredibly impatient, he'd confirm this.
It was at this time the King would order his warriors to move with him. Hopefully satisfied with this agreement, T'chal'fronack'zcinicker would 'lead the way' (fall back) out with Leonardo and Flux in toe, and the King and his entourage at his heels.
Kerric would eye each one as they walk by. However the last of the King's crew would wait for Kerric to go ahead. As a fellow guardsman, the elf is being trusted to respect the situation and take his position ahead as they move out.
Lewin too allows some to pass, fingers twitching as he holds in his instinct to drop arcane awfulness upon them. He watches to see if any of them recognize him as they pass. However, he didn't recognize any of them. Any that were involved in your abduction were slaughtered upstairs.
T'chal'fronack'zcinicker and Leonardo would be lead towards the same west tunnel area with Flux 'plugging' the exit like a guard. This allowed the King to continue his way unimpeded.
Map to follow along:
Once the King was safely beyond Flux's 'guards', tribe members would repeat the same process with Lewin. He'd be given the option to be respectfully ushered out along with Kerric.
From here the King fully focused on his task at hand. He maintains his intimidating aura and continues on, leading his troops on their way up the stairs.
Map to follow along:
Assuming the King's entourage is allowed to continue on their way without incident, the group is now back together. About half are in another tight, moist passageway clinging with mist and a cool breeze coming from the west while the other half is in the cavernous area with the waterfall and stream at the east.
Assuming the departure of the Lizardfolk King and his enterouge went off without a hitch, Flux first breathes a sigh of relief, and all but collapses against a nearby cave wall before gradually sliding his way down into a seated position at the base of it. "Now that was a wee bit too close for comfort!" He admits. "May very well still be, if'n there be evidence of foul play directed towards us. But, I be thinking I redirected suspicions well enough that it'll be a time 'fore the good king thinks twice about coming down here to confirm any suspicions." Despite the futility in the effort, Flux proceeded to pull out a face towel of a sorts to dab at moisture gathered about his forehead.
"Anyhow, Leo! Once you're done settling the 'contract' concerns with the tiefling there, I be having some questions for you, as I ... well I got the sense that you're a bit more put together than the rest of the lot. So, stands to reason, even if you were in a similar boat as us, you have a better sense of the cult dynamics; such as what's become of those captured, and if any were brought down to the lower levels here.Such as some missing dwarven delegates perhaps?" He asks. "Now, from what I understood at least, the were handed off to a different sect. But any chance you know which one and if they got a hide out near here?"

Leonardo takes a quick glance over the tiefling's document. "Can you please summarize the expectations of the King, his people, and myself, separately prior to signature? I wish to ensure there's no conflicts with language barriers." They correct their monocles.
In good faith, the lizardfolk would look to Flux, acknowledging his ask and proceed to open up their journal to review some logs. "According to our work logs the Crushing Wave escorted the Black Earth and their cargo. The cargo is documented to have been mostly dwarven captures, with the exception of two. The exceptions were left with the Crushing Wave for part of the payment." Which Flux could assume was him and Lewin. Leonardo flips a page, then back, then does it again. "While I only prefer to document facts, there is a footnote that there was rumour the Black Earth was ambushed later on in their travels."
Kerric, Ebele, Xalkas and T'chal'fronack'zcinicker would be able to remember a similar story back when they stormed Rivergard Keep:
"We were just the middle men on that one." The man would shrug. "My men mentioned something about the Black Dirt people..." Something twinged in Xalkas' scholarly mind Earth, not Dirt... "They snatched the group just short of the Summit and like the gentlemen that we are, we escorted them across the river. After some bartering, of course." The big man would stroke his beard with pride before letting some snorts slip. "Though rumours have it they got ambushed by the Sky Peeps on their way back to base!" Xalkas' eye would twitch, Air. Jolli's laughter was large and echoed in the hall once more. After he'd settle, he'd glance back to the servers doors before looking back. "We fill our bellies while they duke it out!" His hand pats and then rubs his belly.
"So there are two remaining dwarves to rescue, yes? What became of them?" asks Kerric, grasping onto the one piece of good news that seems to have come out of this whole mess with the lizardfolk.

"I do not know what became of, or how many delegates remain, after the rumoured ambush." Leonardo clarifies. "Everyone was accounted for within the Crushing Wave's transport. After that is all hearsay, therefore is not within my intimate knowledge." They correct their monocles. "However, what I'm suggesting is that you go speak to the responsible parties if you wish to track down your prisoners."
"Right, so what's next? Do we explore around down here, or do we move on to track the delegation following the Earth or Sky cultists?" asks Kerric.
As an aside, he says to Leonardo, "If you and your tribe use this location as your base and take over the Crashing Wave cult, I ask that you limit your activities such that they do not interfere with the good people of this region or their property. If your tribe becomes a problem by abducting innocent travelers or preying upon the nearby towns, we will return and eliminate the threat you pose."

He looks to Leonardo as if to see if he might back him on that point. Even if he doesn't however, the water genasi carries on. "But that be a later problem as far as I'm concerned! And I can't speak for everyone here, but... if there ain't be much use carrying on down here for now and uprooting more of'em Wave fellas, I say we either depart this place -- preferably from an angle that doesn't have us crossing the king's path again -- or continue snoop'n round below and capture'n one that might know which mountain air elemental cultist be. Surely one of the ****s know somethin' to that end. Otherwise, we be better finding a decent town that's run afoul of them of late, learn what they know, and go from there."
Assuming the King's entourage is allowed to continue on their way without incident, the group is now back together. About half are in another tight, moist passageway clinging with mist and a cool breeze coming from the west while the other half is in the cavernous area with the waterfall and stream at the east.
'You are here':
"It's pretty breezy over here..." Ebele comments from the furthest back in the tight, moist passageway clinging with mist and a cool breeze coming from the west.
Leonardo corrects their monacles after peeking to the blonde down the corridor then back to Flux and the tiefling. "The wise monk's senses are correct. The Worm's Stair is just to the west of here... It's quite literally your direct route to the Temple of the Howling Hatred."
"Well shit on a barnacle! Don't that be it all! Seems we be having our course now then, eh?" Flux said, almost sounding borderline jubilant at the news. After a bit of grunting and grumbling as he pulled himself back to his feet, and giving his bum a few pats after the fact. "Let's be on then towards these stairs. Tho'! I will confess I wouldn't mind us finding a hidey hole for a longer rest, if but to make sure we're at all our full capacities for dealing these Howlers, I'd just be as happy to be away from here sooner than later."Flux then makes shooing motion and adds, "So lead on then! Or, whoevers further along that tunnel can -- I don't really care."

Lewin speaks up. "If we do know of a safe place to rest and recharge, I have had a long day. I would welcome the chance. But if must needs we continue on, I can keep going."
After a long pause of no movement or other suggestions, Leonardo exhales a breath in preparation. "In no attempt to be amusing good sirs," They motion back down the hall. "The dark pit next to your blindfolded companion, is a prison cell of sorts." They adjust their monocles. "The guards bother not to check on them as a monster lurks about." They caution. "In theory, should you eradicate it, you could rest there." They offer their best suggestion. Unless the group really insisted on going back and sharing their nests with the other lizardfolk who would be scheduled to return. Not to mention the suspicious shaman.
"Not a bad suggestion, though the monster in question could be a problem. What can you tell us of it, Leonardo?" asks the elven warrior, peering down into the pit curiously.

“It’s rumoured that the monster’s body is covered in thick, lumpy armor, its long tail ends in a bony protrusion, and two feathery antennae sprout from its insectile head.” Leonardo shrugs.
Kerric having pushed his way by the others to the edge of the pit where Ebele was forced back to hang tight, takes a gander. Looking ahead into the area he’d come to realize that if he wasn’t told of it, one could have easily missed the pit and fallen in without actively looking for it. That’s how thick the mist is.

Flux raises a brow, then rubbed his chin, trying to parse out what the supposed monster was while everyone went about other things(though he'd still keep pace if/when the group carried on their way).
-Not sure what type of knowledge check this would be, but seeing as all of his are +0, here's a flat "Nature" roll for now: 1.
"I take it then that the monster don't be having much reason to climb out? Or there be rumors regarding that as well? Should as being kept fed 'n all that."He further asks of Leonardo. And depending on the answer there, he'd either offer some rope so people don't accidentally fall in before the group was thoroughly ready to make their way down into the pit.

Tho'! I will confess I wouldn't mind us finding a hidey hole for a longer rest, if but to make sure we're at all our full capacities for dealing these Howlers, I'd just be as happy to be away from here sooner than later." Flux then makes shooing motion and adds, "So lead on then! Or, whoevers further along that tunnel can -- I don't really care."

Lewin speaks up. "If we do know of a safe place to rest and recharge, I have had a long day. I would welcome the chance. But if must needs we continue on, I can keep going."
Kerric:
”A rest would indeed be prudent,” agrees Kerric.

Kerric:

(OOC: Me the player 'Oh NUUUUuuuu! But as for the character...)
Should as being kept fed 'n all that." He further asks of Leonardo. And depending on the answer there, he'd either offer some rope so people don't accidentally fall in before the group was thoroughly ready to make their way down into the pit.
