”I could use a short rest to bind my wounds and recover if we think we can find a safe place to do so,” says Kerric. Not having seen anything arrive from the hallway he is guarding, he has taken advantage of the time others have been searching to start the process already.

"Respectfully, you all throw thunder and lightning recklessly enough." Ebele would put her hand out for the boomerang. "Allow me to at least have some sense of control." She adjusts her posture and makes the 'gimme' motion with her hand. If she could reduce the surprise of at least one chance of dealing with the element in a day, it'd give her a sense of control over it. Maybe even help her overcome her fear by learning to master the element instead.
"I can keep watch while you rest." Says the blindfolded monk with a nod. "We must keep it short." She takes a strategic position for watch. "We weren't quiet." Ebele reminds as she presses against the wall. "Eventually, others will come." Her bare feet and hands feel for reverberation of steps or movement, while her pointed ears twitch.
Flux snorted and smirked at Ebele, but otherwise kept from gainsaying her request for the stormarang. Rather he silently resolved to use the most recent acquisition as a possible excuse for putting his name down in the arena for the next magical trinket, guaranteeing him a sizable nest egg for future profit!
"Fair enough, lass. I could use a nap after all that running about."Flux later claimed while taking up a chair at a "southern" table, and putting his feet up. "Just let me know when we be head'n off next."He requests, before soon dozing off. Though it isn't long into the short rest that the pain of his own injuries has him checking bindings and making sure nothing was in any real danger of relapse.
"You know-..."Flux later starts on after the hour's rest and everyone was gathering their things. "I don't be thinking that last tricky fella was just running away to nowhere, I think. But what say the rest of you lot? Should we backtrack to where he was made to 'leave shore for the afterlife?' Or do you think we should keep towards a somewhat southerly heading?"He said, gesturing at first towards the north door, then towards the southern door. "Personally I favor the south, on the off chance his heading was but for some barracks where the rest of the louts maybe. But as the most seasoned off, uhm, mercs I've had the pleasure of working alongside of, I'll defer to your collective judgement."He further addresses the party.

Xalkas hand over the boomerang happily. Hoping it will help Ebele with her fear of thunder/lightning. Since he’s specifically avoiding spells that cause those sounds. He then sits near Kerric and tends to a few of his own wounds (rolled hit dice in game log back at full hp). He also spends some time looking at his spellbook and reciting quietly a few of his incantations. (Arcane recovery used to get back lvl 3 slot)
Lewin resolves, as he binds his wounds, to try to use more cantrips and fewer of his more powerful spells. He had no idea how much longer this day and journey would be.
(Short rest: 3HD, rolled total of 20hp in game log.)
"South is as fine as north to me. I am grateful you found me in this place. I would never have found a way out myself."
(I may have been a little premature on the boomerang. If you genuinely want it for Flux, I'm happy to have Ebele pass it on :). She has a magical item already.)
An hour felt like days. But, eventually, the time would come. Ebele clears her throat, then she goes around to rouse any stragglers. They'd feel her hand rest upon their shoulder. "We must keep moving." Nap time was over. Flux had given a lot to consider, yet the group was a bit quiet and reserved. So, while they gathered and collected themselves, the monk would slip out the door to do some scouting.
Stealth: 14 (Rolled in log) Perception: 9 (Rolled in log)
Ebele would slip back into the room and perch herself against the wall as if she never left. "Our direction is west." She asserts. All she found were doors, and she didn't open any, but it appeared regardless of which way they left this room, the place lead east from here. Should she be asked, she describes what she felt. Their options were more like pick a door, any door.

"Well, that simplify things nicely enough, eh? And I take it we're still doing the door by door thing as to avoid any surprises, so..."He looks to Kerric and in as flamboyently as possible while stepping aside, gestured over to the western door he'd guarded during the fight. "After you then, my fine, uh, blademaster friend and savior. I'll be right behind as always! Though, I suspect only trouble awaits us behind any closer doors down the way, none can doubt your capability in handing a bit of trouble, eh?"

Kerric leads the way west along the corridor. He comes to a stop at the first door to the south. He doesn't really hear anything from the outside of the door, and should he proceed to open the door and take a peek in, he'd come to find what would look like some little shops. The rooms dark as there's no light, however with his darkvision, the elven warrior would be able to tell that the proprietors of these shops are long gone. Carvings above the doors indicate the owners’ former professions: tailor, jeweler, smith, baker. All that remains of these places now are small, rubble-strewn rooms.

"True enough. And I'd be lying if I weren't tempted to join in the search. But best we have more than one eyes, er, lookouts, uhh... Kerric sweeps in with Lewin on his tail and Xalkas nipping at his heels. Kerric’s elven eyes didn’t require the light. All the same, it would take a moment for everyone’s eyes to adjust to the illumination of the room. Amongst the stalls, the elven warrior would discover a pile of amassed coins and valuables worth 150 gp, and what appears to be a cloak hanging from a coat hanger.

"Shame we be not finding a horde or secret stash left over in the last one. Ebele would take up position where Flux was, continuing to keep a look out while they finish clearing the shops and discuss the findings. Her head tilts with a slight nod as the cleric shares his thoughts on the place and it's ancient inhabitant's habits. She couldn't help but agree with his thoughts. On those, the monk's ears twitch. Then again. So while the other's finish clearing the southern rooms, she gives in to her instincts and approaches the door to the north. She opens it.
Light from the hallway trickles into the darkened room. Two bound and gagged prisoners see light for the first time in what feels like forever, thus it takes a moment for their eyes to adjust to even the slightest glow. Being held in this dungeon, they've grown thirsty and hungry.
(OOC: Argent Alliance Players, I'd like to introduce you to two new companions I've invited to join the cause and to liven up activity in the thread. Instead of seeing what they expected to be their cultist captors, someone else stands in the light of the doorway. Platinum blonde, porcelain skin, high cheekbones and pointed ears. At first glance, she appeared to be elven, but only upon closer inspection, the curves of her frame and shorter stature would say otherwise. The half-elf wore simple cloth, a white shirt with a deep cowl and tight-fitting black pants. Strapped to her hips were a mix of pouches. The closest thing to the most obvious weapon on her was her body, and a prized staff, unique and one of a kind. It had the head of a crow and 'tail' of a silvered unicorn horn. Most curiously though, she wore a band of cloth over her eyes that appeared to be weeping liquid shadows.
What appears to be a blind monk turning her head as if looking around the room. However, looking closely her ears are twitching as if following sounds; her nostrils are flaring as if taking in the smells around her; even her toes are flexing and pressing into the ground to feel for the slightest vibrations of movement on the floor. Were her senses so sensitive to have heard the prisoners shifting or any muffled sounds?
Ebele (Introducing my PC Ebele, to the new players)
Meanwhile, in the rooms to the south, it wouldn't take long for Flux, and eventually Kerric, Lewin and Xalkas, to realize Ebele may have snuck off, again. Flux would be able to spot her entering the room across the hall.
Map
Ebele moved with caution, as if sweeping the northern room. Her movements were calculated, practiced from years of conditioning and training, as if living in the dark and one with the shadows. Soon, she'd come to stand tall before the prisoners. A firm facial expression turns merciful and she comes to bring her staff down. Two taps on the ground. Then the monk crouches down, reaching out to pull the gags free of their mouths, and uses the end of her staff to cut their binds. "My name's Ebele. Are you hurt?"
