“Uh... me?... hmm” Xalkas stammers as he waffles a bit trying to come up with something he wants to share with the group. He falls silent for what is almost an uncomfortable amount of time before speaking. “I’ve been away from home since I was really little, I used to make little clockwork toys, and ... I really enjoy living in big cities.”

Xalkas looks around at everyone. Doing his best to keep a straight face. 

Deception: 11

T'chal'fronack'zcinicker watches Xalkas shrewdly.  Insight: 17.  "You do NOT like big cities, and you haven't been away from home that long.  My bet would be you used to make clockwork toys.  But...." he tries to read his face as he suggests each answer....

"Yeah... I haven't known you long enough, but you don't strike me as a city' likin' kinda guy..." Hawke says. "Might just piggyback on what Snickers says, but..."

Insight: 16

Reghys chimes in: "It's clear that the last was a lie, you had to think about it. Of course, it could be a clever decoy, but- no offense- I don't think you're that good at deceiving others. So the third story is a lie, there's no gnome I know that doesn't like to tinker- but you don't strike me like a man to dally around with toys, no, you were creating gadgets to make your life easier. So to my mind, that's the second lie. In fact, you've been living away from home since you were very little, am I right?"

Ebele would purse her lips as she’d think. Again, she wasn’t fast enough to think of her own response prior to others’ thoughts. But listening to them, and pondering to herself, she’d make her guess. “The second one true?” A part of her felt like she knew he hasn’t been away from home long, like it was in a passing conversation early in their companionship. But things like this always made her question her memory. 

"Yep. Piggybackin' on Snickers and Bel's answers," Hawke decides with a curt nod of his head.

“You caught me! My parents did in fact own their own toy shop and taught me how to make them.” Looking over to T'chal'fronack'zcinicker, “I guess I have a few drinks to take. I’ll have that wineskin now for a moment.” Holding out his hand and drinking from it. (Assuming it’s passed over)

After a few good swigs, wipes his mouth “So what about you, (1/1-2=Ebele, 3-4=Hawke)?” Xalkas asks inquisitively. 

Kerric:

Now openly smiling, the elven warrior seems indeed unaffected by the rain.  Learning a bit more about his companions as he overhears snippets of their conversation, he continues to do his part keeping them safe as the water continues to fall from the sky.

As the wineskin is passed around, Reghys takes a sip as well, before looking expectantly at Ebele. After a bit, they realise that themonk might not be picking up on the queue, and they touch her shoulder to indicate their turn.

“Oh!” Ebele would shift realizing they were waiting on her. She’d purse her lips in thought for a moment before she’d open and close her lips a couple times as she’d try to decide what to say. Finally, she’d start. “My father was a monk and mother a cleric.... I’ve performed in a circus... and um... oh! I’ve won a brewer’s competition!” She’d put a finger up.

Reghys took a time to contemplate: "I think you weren't born to the life of a monk, but found to it due to events beyond your control... I can see you having performed in a circus, but I can also see you applying the very thing I said about Xalkas to try and throw me off...But it sounds like it's actually something that you remembered, rather than something you invented. For my pick, the third one is the truth."

T'chal'fronack'zcinicker nods in agreement with Reghys, "Ya, you definitely seemed like you remembered that last one. I pick the 3rd as the truth as well."

Hawke waits to see what the others say before piping in his opinion. “I’m probably wrong since I wanna go against the grain, but I’ma saaay you performed in a circus.”

“I think the third thing you said is the truth.” Xalkas adds after everyone else has given their opinion. Content to ‘jump on the bandwagon’.

Kerric:

From outside the bear cage wagon, you can hear Kerric chime in, "Number one sounds good to me, Ebele."

Ebele was just moments away from her reveal when she’d hear Kerric chime in. She’d smile. The monk was most hoping to have Reghys guessing because they were the one who knew her truth behind the mask, and the source of her fear. That’s what made it so hard for her to think of things. Then her smile would grow into a grin. The blonde would tap her finger to her nose, then point in the direction of where Hawke’s voice came from. “I’ve performed in a circus.” She’d say softly before jumping on to the next thing. “I haven’t won a brewing contest, YET!” She’d emphasize, before letting out an awkward chuckle.

T'chal'fronack'zcinicker chuckles, "Clever Ebele tricked all of us but Kerric. Their morning training must have given him the advantage he needed."

“But your berry cider is so good...” Xalkas says after another mouthful from the wine skin. “It really hasn’t won any competitions.” Xalkas looks dumbfounded by this revelation. 

Reghys just nods at Xalkas comment, and takes a sip themselves, looking at Hawke expectantly.
