"Did we win, or did we just delay the inevitable? I can't imagine a god is going to let us off so easy," Gaius says. You can tell that he's glad to be alive and genuinely concerned for the people. He asks the group of you to go around and spend the day helping people gather themselves back up, heal whoever can heal, etc. Speaking of which, doesn't Caradoc have a healing potion? He should. If not, Moneo should have a couple, yeah?

Caradoc does, but he’s forgotten it.

As far as you can tell, it looks like it has started calming down.

(Damara is missing about a quarter of her health. She won't seek any aid.)

So, everyone spends the evening assisting the townsfolk, putting out fires, and picking up the pieces of destruction from the horde of goblins and such running through. 

The next morning, Capt Gaius summons you to the Fort for a word.

Carric is spending his evening nursing his wounds, collecting crossbow bolts, and bragging about his activities to anyone who will listen whilst helping pick up the pieces of the town.

Damara will quietly work on cleaning up, collect all of her javelins, and spend a short time in meditation before sleep.

Moneo joins Carric in bragging, though likely at the bar, and over a pint or two, embellishing parts of the story. In the morning he gets up and heads to the captain to see what he has to say.

Rummaging through the destruction, you all find a total of 100gp to split among you. You also find some gems:

• 2x opaque light blue-green (turquoise)
• 3x opaque striated light and dark green (malachite)
• 1x translucent brown with golden center (tiger eye)
• 1x translucent circles of gray, white, brown, blue, and/or green (eye agate)
• 1x transparent pale blue (blue quartz)
• 1x opaque light pink (rhodochrosite)
• 1x opaque mottled deep blue (azurite)

After making your way to Gaius, he greets you and says, "I need to send you to Akros. I've drafted this report of recent events and I've ordered these men to escort you." He gestures to a group of six soldiers standing in formation and at parade rest.

"The seal on this letter will get you an audience with the High Magister if you hand it to the City Guard, first. You should be off sooner rather than later, though. Get to town today and meet with the High Magister tomorrow. I'm eager for him to receive this report. Any questions?"

“Any idea what this really was, Captain?” Carric hopefully.

“Bet you’re glad you had us around again eh?” Moneo asks, grinning.

"Indeed, I was very glad to have your help again, Moneo. Your neighbors appreciate it, too, even if they don't say so. But," he says turning to Caradoc, "I don't know what that was. We are going to be directing considerable resources towards finding out, though, if we can."

"Since it seems we are unofficial members of the guard at this point, please let us know if there is anything we can do to help figure out what the hell is going on," Moneo says. "It seems as if our small group here has been brought together just for this... whatever this is."

Damara nods silently from where she is standing at the back of the group.

Captain Gaius just smiles. "Well, you ought to be off, then." And he nods towards the soldiers and they begin marching out of the door and into a flanking, defensive formation.

Damara shrugs, heading for the door after the soldiers pass.

"To where are we heading now?" Moneo asks as he turns towards the door, thinking "I haven't even packed..."
