You spot movement in the thicket, moving in your direction. As you draw a breath to shoit out, an arrow whistles past Six’s ear and shatters on the rocks. Two bestial figures, armed with longbows and spears leap to their feet and begin to charge, roughly 60 feet from you. They are clad in crude hide armour that looks like it was scavenged from a dozen different garbage heaps, and their cruel hyena faces are twisted with hunger as they advance. Sinsil will recognise them as gnolls.
Ashanti and Alkyn- These rabbits are ok, but not enough for five hungry bellies. Moving silently, you circle around and approach the pool from the east, approaching from downwind. You peek over a fallen tree, and freeze. A giant hyena, shoulders almost as tall as a humans is lapping from the pool barely 15 feet from you. The stench of rotting flesh rising from it is revolting, but it doesn’t seem to be aware of you yet.

"Aim to kill they plan to eat us!" Sinsil well cast minor illusion to make it appear as if the rock the arrow struck begins to stir, and she will turn with a worried look on her face toward it as suit stands up into what looks like an elemental.
Alkyn watches in dismay as his companion runs past the enormous creature and into the water, Not a place I can follow, he thinks.
Hoping that the distraction will focus the attention of the hyena, he continues his stealthy movement, heading back the way he came. (( Was there any defensible position -- a crack/crevice in the rocks, a cave etc he saw on the way? ))

The water of the pools surface rose up and began weaving back and forth in serpentine shapes to distract the beast and keep it focused on her.
Shape Water.
Nice move. Alkyn continues to retreat.
Six is up!
The Giant Hyena lunges towards the moving shapes, snapping at the water and ending up with his front legs in the pool.

Sinsil creates another minor illusion of the earth between the horses and the Gnoll churning and the elemental forming there with the sounds of shifting debris and a rumble like a tiny earthquake.
As the huge animals paws entered the water Ashanti summoned her power and the pools surface level suddenly rose alarmingly around the hyena.
Create Water.
Alkyn continues up the hill. Ashanti seems more than capable. What of the others? He moves as quickly as he can until he gets near the sounds.
As you break from the trees, you see the remaining gnoll beginning to flee, leaving his companion for dead (six will get an attack of opportunity). He is taking the dash action.
