"I'll have you know, I am rather fond of mosquitoes. It could be because they can't bite through my scales, but also because it's hilarious to watch everyone else scratching themselves like their skin had offended them." He walks outside and calls to the rest of the party "Wanna come see the deathtrap we found?"

“I will take responsibility for what I have done. [...] If must fall, I will rise each time a better man.” ― Brandon Sanderson, Oathbringer.
(mobile) Sinsil moves to Tristan and be Alkyn. "If it was a real death trap you'd be dead. What's the prognosis, can we stay here or do we have to sleep in mud?"
"Who says we aint? On a more serious note, Alkyn read some jargon, then opened a hatch and didn't get dead, and now we have that to deal with" He points at the tunnel.
"The trap has a fast acting poison...whether it would kill me? I am not sure: it's been here a while, and may not have been intended to kill."
He glances thoughtfully at Sinsil, "On the other hand, one of ... ah ... lesser stature -- perhaps a child ... it might easily kill them. I'm just glad none of us have to find out."
"As to sleeping in the mud, I was just inspecting what lies behind the door. I suspect it is perfectly safe." he says unconvincingly.
Alkyn will check that the hatch can be opened from the inside if it closes, then follow down the coal chute into the maze of twisty little passages, all alike...
You emerge one by one into an underground chamber, with vaulted stone arches supporting the roof. There are unlit brass oil lanterns hanging from hooks on the walls, which are stacked with trade goods of all kinds- bolts of cloth, carpets, crates of metal ingots, simple foodstuffs, pottery and so on. There is a door in the south wall, and one to the east, while the ramped passage you entered through is on the west wall. To the north are the remains of a ruined staircase, which at one point led to the tower above. On the floor is painted a symbol in red and black- a five pointed star, the arms curved as if in a spiral, set around a red pentagon.
It definitely does. That's the symbol of the Myriad, the largest criminal cartel in Wildemount. You know they have a lot of influence and power, especially in the larger cities, but what they lack are forgiveness, mercy and understanding. If you have spent any time with the criminal element, you will have had dealings with one of their agents.
(It comes down to Alkyn's relationship with them- if he has worked with them before, you'll probably be ok. They can be pretty unreasonable about outsiders poking around in their private business. You know better than to try to take anything).
Alkyn looks nervously around, "I've had dealings with these people before -- not always amicable, but those mistakes are in the distant past -- it's best to respect their merchandise. With luck, we can just move on in the morning."
(Mobile) Sinsil holds her arcane focus tight to her side and makes sure the magic aura on her key is masked and that it is tucked in tight. "So if someone is here they aren't going to rob is blind? Now I feel we should leave and not make camp."
Alkyn ponders a moment, glancing around the room again before responding, "So long as everyone leaves the... the, ah, merchandise... alone, i think we will be safe here. Better yet, forget you ever saw it."

"Well, we haven't heard any screaming," Six answers Ashanti, his ears flicking.

There’s no more marks inside the passage, which is shrouded in darkness after a few feet. Who’s going in?

Six slips from his horse, stretching just slightly. "I'll go in and take a look, if you like," he offers, heading inside.

Sinsil will follow, she's built for cramped underground spaces like this.
" I'll just stay and make sure nothing eats the livestock then."
She began chatting amiably with the horses.
Tristan follows Sinsil.
