With the vast majority of the party failing the stealth roll the priests coming in to the house do hear you beneath the floor trying to hide yourself after Aldaryn's warning! Coming to the trap door they tug on the now visible handle but Aldaryn's dagger bars their way through.
You can hear muffled voices now as Aldaryn looks around at the party frantically still holding his dagger in place as if to say "find me something else to use an quickly" as Brida moves to the work table snatching up a set of manacles tossing them to Aldaryn who between the tugs inserts the manacles between the loops of the metal door handle and secures them as best he can before slowly backing down the steps towards the party. He and Brida now stand off from the foot of the stairwell ready to attack.

Erevan: The necklace enables the wearer to control the golem to a point. As you look at the golem it's obvisous the only way to get the stone out is to take it out by force unless you can find the blue prints!

Erevan you do find a notebook hidden amongst other tomes. When you begin to flip through it you find several series of notes and plans for the golem then the newest in the patchwork metal you see before the party. It explains how to deactivate the golem and remove the stone that powers it!
But you can try however a sudden crash shatters the tense silence of the room as the priests make their way into the basement and are now on the stairs!
