Group 1: As you enter the scattered doors of the temple you find this chamber lit by the setting sun behind you as well as various candles that squat in small hills of melted wax. The smell of their smoke hits your nose along with an odor that is reminiscent of decay. As you move further into the temple you notice someone has taken a large amount of salt and drawn a broad circular symbol on the floor with the salt (religion check) situated equidistantly around it. Atop the salt, someone traced the symbol with a black powder that glints a dull silver in the candlelight (history or survival check). Moving further into the temple you're now faced with two choices. Either you move west towards the mess hall/kitchen or east towards the chapel/Sir Ballen's office?
Group 2: The sun has set and Brida announces you are reaching the crossroads where you will depart the main road for the road to Carrowkeel Andulra/Pitero roll perception check. "I wish to check on my father and aunt before we head to the village, is that alright," Brida asks the group as she pulls up on the reigns of the cart stopping just short of a road that heads to the east, Pitero you know this road leads to Sul Na Mara and you village beyond, while the road to the south leads to Carrowkeel a village you have never been but is Brida's home.
Saarebas: It looks like salt and you don't understand why it was wasted in this way and it looked like soot from a fire laid over top of it. You don't understand what its for in front of the door and so you walk through it towards the eastern side of the temple. Please roll a Dex saving throw!

Erevan before your dex sav you think you remember reading something about salt purifying and creating a ward but the black soot like powder onto is most definitely black powder which you know is VERY rare!

Sometimes a Nat 1 tells a better story than a Nat 20 ever could.
Pitero: You see the road south is well beaten path with fields on either side. The smoke plume is in the distance is the closest it's ever been and seems to be emanating in the direction Brida said was the village. The smoke itself however is now more white than black telling you that the fire is nearly burnt out.
Brida leads you down yet another path that's narrow than the south road towards the village which you see the buildings are just in the distance. This new path is fairly steep up the rounding hills away from the southern road that leads to Carrowkeel. You travel for a good ten minutes before spotting a small house, a pen for animals which is empty, and a barn. As you pass a set of oak trees on either side of the path now almost too narrow for the cart to not encroach on thick green grass that's waist high, you see a set of sigils carved into the tree bark of each oak. Brida pulls the reigns up on the cart and gets down. "They can't go through here," she says next motioning to the moaning bears in the magic cage but doesn't say anything else only starts to walk up the path towards the small house.
Pitero/Andulra: Roll nature or religion checks please!
Andulra: You are you trying to get the mood/truth of? You see a grassy front yard and a small wooden house in front of you. You are walking behind Brida and Pitero on a earth beaten path in a field of high grasses you know will soon be cut and baled for hay. The house ahead does not seem to show signs of violence or fire. Roll a nature check for the sigils as you approach the two large oak trees on either side of the path Brida had just passed through.

OOC: No I'll let you keep the 20 but investigation. As you look in the grasses you see to the south coming from the town there is a swath of grass that's been trod on by fifty or more people! It's like they knew to come here to evade danger!! You also remark the sigils are VERY familiar but stop to think for a moment then it hits you! These are druidic wards against evil and chaos!
