Darik: As you put your bare hand into the portal you need to make a CON sav with a DC of 15 if fail you take 16 of necrotic damage, if succeed you take 1/2!

Erevan: The last sarcophagus has the same symbols as the others but you gather that the 'great lady' tomb is not among these tombs that have been opened, the warriors have been released. This unopened tomb however seems still completely sealed! You can not remember anymore knowledge from your own head about the story however and Andulra's odd rhyming makes no sense to you!
Darik: You still take 9 points of necrotic damage and are lucky to still have a hand! You realize you can not pass through this archway without deactivating it!

"Darik. that's not a good idea you almost lost your hand there. There has to be some way to deactivate it. What about that ring that one skeleton had?"
Andúlra suddenly shouts,”we must return to the village! We must find someone who can read these symbols! I know I’ve seen them before. We cannot go any further without one of us dying. We need to find others to help is. Someone must be able to read these.”
”the story from my childhood is about a gateway that must be kept sealed. We have to find out what will seal this. We need to ask the others what they know. We must find the guy who gave Brida the stone.”

Brida: "I have one more spell or no more potions of healing," Brida calls out looking to Darik healing him with a 1 level cure wounds for 4. "I think we should take the stone and figure out how it can open the gate. I do not know how it works," she adds. "I am tired and think it's best to rest and regroup taking refuge somewhere else then press on to our deaths," she explains. "Who will we be helping then," she asks next turning away from the archway, the chanting still silent, and moving towards the steps.
Aldaryn: "I agree," Aldaryn adds moving to Brida and placing his hands on her shoulders to look in the young clerics face. "Better to live another day and fail right now, than press on and die for nothing," he adds looking up at the group. "The skeletons are slain, this," he points to the unopened tomb, "does not seem to be a problem," he adds next. "We have no clue what's beyond here," he exclaims gesturing at the door. "There are people wounded and dead everywhere above us! There are the men in the magic bear cage and those people in Vera's barn," he reminds the group. "Who are we helping right now?"
OOC: You can't climb on top of the tombs they've been broken into, save the one on the left very close to the door. The stone is magical stone but what it does you have no idea! Anyone have an identification spell?

Reaching the dormitory the party gathers as Brida and Aldaryn, having been at the lead, moves through the dormitory ahead of the group.
"I think it's safest at the farm," Brida calls out. "The wards are there and they've already proven to repel whatever havok is down there," she adds motioning back to the broken stone doorway.
"We should find the other villagers," Aldaryn then says. "The other clerics," he adds. "Surely they'll be of some help," he adds.

"I doubt the ring is involved. The totem however seems to be attuned to he gateway somehow." Arcana: 18 "Brida, where is the great lady's tomb?"
Erevan: "That's just it," Brida begins, "where that is," she points to the gate, "was her tomb," she exclaims next!
OOC: arcana on the ring or...
Sometimes a Nat 1 tells a better story than a Nat 20 ever could.
OOC: No, the arcana roll was to determine how the totem is linked to the gateway, is it a key, or maybe a means of safely passing through the gateway?
Thinking about andulra's rhyme, Erevan says, "wait, before we leave, everyone get up on something, like the sarcophagus or the stairs."
Andúlra turns and heads back up the stairs. Turning she says, “Come! We must get off the floor! We must find help!”

Brida and Aldaryn however are going to them climbing the steps.

Defeated, Erevan follows bridal up the stairs. When we get settled he'll cast identify as a ritual in both the totem and the ring.
Saarebas will follow climbing up the stairs; not knowing anything about Arcana or magic he doubts he can help.
