Slowly opening his eyes, Facebreaker feels a sharp sting in his abdomen. Looking down in his weakened state, he sees that a spear has been driven through his stomach and is now chained to a pair of trees. One of Linene's workers sits nearby, though clearly unaware that he has awakened.
Facebreaker’s head and body ache as if he'd just been ripped to pieces and poorly sewn back together. In an attempt to dampen the pain, he reaches for his face...but realizes he’s tightly bound and wounded?

Facebreaker stows the spear, unable to appreciate the fine craftsmanship of such a weapon. Bloody and beaten, the monk stumbles through the unfamiliar forest until he collapses from exhaustion.
Chapter 2
...
*poke poke*
"I think he's still breathing."
...
"Yea, I know I should heal him...I was just checking okay?"
Krash feels the warmth of healing magic throughout his body. He slowly opens his eyes. Turning his head from its position in the dirt ground, he looks up to see a young female squatting down while looking at him. A turtle rests on her shoulder as she munches on a goodberry.
“Thank you friend”
The goliath climbs to his feet and inspects his wounds with awe. To his surprise, they seem completely healed.
“You spared my life this day. I am grateful... but perhaps it would have been best just to leave me to my fate...my name is...”
With a heavy heart the monk lets out a deep sigh. Is he still worthy of his name? How can he ever return home after what he’s done? He can only recall abstract and violent flashes reminiscent of a fever dream...but he sees the blood on his hands and knows most of it belongs to someone else. A great sadness fills his soul.
”They call me Krash.”
The girl blinks for a bit while she continues to munch on her berries. The turtle on her shoulder reaches its mouth out to grab one from her hand as she moves to eat the next one. "Hey!!!"
She seems to satiate herself after a few more seconds. "Hi, Mr. Krash. I'm TT. This is my friend, Turtle!" The turtle looks to Krash and appears to wave its little hand. "I haven't seen anyone around here for a long time. Now I know why I'm here! You see, the spirits of nature tell me what I need to do usually." She pulls out the Staff of Chlorocebus. "I hear its whispers in dreams..."
"My camp is that way." She points in a general direction. Krash is unable to tell which way is north due to the heavy forestry around them. "I can carry you there if you want. You seem like you've had a pretty rough night!"
*Poof!* Suddenly, TT has turned into a large tortoise. She invites Krash to sit on top of her.
"MmmMMMmmmm.....heavy....!!!" she says, before falling down in her turtle form. Letting Krash stand up, she continues: "Maybe we can just walk there together."
Chapter 3
TT and Krash eventually reach a clearing in the woods with a small pond in the middle. A tent and a campfire can be seen on the side of it.
Krash’s eyes grow wide at TT’s effortless transformation. For a brief moment, he feels less alone in this new world.
”What great skills you must possess... Does the wild beast not cloud your mind when you transform?”
"?"
Having turned back into her Genasi form during the walk, TT looks at Krash with a puzzled look. "No, it's pretty easy." she says.
*Poof!* Turning into a turtle again, TT and the little turtle jump into the small pond. *splish splash* "Hahaha~ fun~!"
The two of them seem to be having a lot of fun.
Krash rolls up what's left of his tattered and torn pants and soaks his feet in the cool pond as TT and turtle enjoy their swim.
”You must be a far greater warrior than you let on TT. I envy your skills...”
He stares down at his bloodstained hands before washing them vigorously in the pond. The monk pulls his hands clean from the water, but still sees them soiled with the blood of innocents. With a heavy heart, Krash stares deep into his reflection only to be met by a pair of dark and hollow eyes.
”One day I too hope that I may tame the beast inside me.”
Chapter 4
After a bit of a swim, TT transforms back into her Genasi form and sits by the pond. Her hair doesn't seem to dry no matter how much she strokes her hands through it. Looking at the distraught Krash, she puts her index finger just below her lip. "Hmmmm....training for transforming?"
TT looks to some nearby rocks. There are several watermelon sized stones surrounding one large boulder that is slightly bigger than Krash himself. "Mmmm....can you move that big boulder next to the pond? Where the light is shining through the tree leaves there."
With his bare feet still dripping from the pond, Krash approaches the stone and positions his body to move it out of the way. (Strength: 12)
The large boulder does not seem to budge.
*grooowwllll* A violent sound erupts through the camp. Krash quickly enters his battle stance.
However, he looks to see that it was TT's stomach that made the sound. "I'm really hungry now. Do you think you could help me find some foods to eat? We can cook it here..."
Food..? *ggggrrrowwll*
Krash clutches his empty belly realizing that he too is famished and has not had a proper meal in some time.
He looks to Turtle and licks his lips...NO! Not the turtle. Krash quickly looks away.
”I would be honored.”
With his spear in hand he walks back to the pond hoping to find a fish or two (perception: 7)
He frowns… (survival: 22)
Unable to find any decent protein for their meal, Krash begins gathering berries, herbs, and mushrooms from the forest floor.
The monk takes special care to thoroughly wash his findings before skewering them with a stick over a slow flame.
After a short time to roast their meal, Krash presents the food to TT; letting her eat first.
”It's not much...please enjoy.”
Chapter 5
TT sniffs the mushrooms a bit before eating them. "You remember the last time we looked for mushrooms to eat, right Turtle?" she says worriedly. She cautiously moves the shish kabob to her mouth before taking a bite.
...
"YUM!" she exclaims, before gobbling it down viciously. The shrooms are of superior quality and have been roasted well enough to preserve their natural taste. She starts reaching for more as Krash also sits down to eat.
...
"Good person..." TT says happily. With their stomachs now full, it starts to approach noon. TT looks at the boulder again.
Krash satisfies his grumbling belly...for now. He stands up and cracks his knuckles determined to move the boulder!
“Huuuuuunnnggghhh!” (Strength: 20)
Having ended his long fast, Krash finally gathers enough strength to move the boulder into the location TT specified. It lands with a large crash as birds can be heard flying away nearby. It is now set in a clearing near the pond just under an opening through the tree leaves above. The noon sun shines through that opening and onto the rock.
TT's eyes seem to sparkle. *poof* Becoming a turtle once more, she climbs on top of the rock. Turtle joins her on top of her shell as the two start to bask for hours. Both have wide smiles on their turtle faces.
Krash can't help but find himself completely entranced by TTs tranquil way of life. He discards his bloody monk uniform and lays on the ground next to TT and Turtle’s rock, basking in the sunlight. For the first time since he's left his home, Krash finds himself at peace.
*ZzzzzZzzzzZ*
TT, now satisfied, returns to her Genasi form. Turtle crawls on her shoulder as the two approach a sleeping Krash. "He looks so peaceful. Looks like he can probably keep the beast from emerging now." She puts her index finger to her lip again. "But I think he wants to control it, not just make it go away."
Turtle whispers something in TT's ear.
...
"Nice idea, Turtle!"
Chapter 6
Krash is rudely awakened by a slam in his chest for 10 damage.
Opening his eyes, he looks to see a large water elemental above him.
TT and Turtle observe from the top of their rock.
*Ooooff*
Krash wakes abruptly after taking a cheap blow to his chest!
Instincts take over as the monk jumps to his fight ready to kill. He draws his spear but before attacking, looks to TT sitting calmly upon her rock. Is this some sort of test? But why? He's unable to judge her reaction but she seems completely unphased by the situation... which isn't exactly ordinary from what he can tell...
Krash charges the creature and performs a double jump kick before slashing it with his spear!
Krash's stone skin resists the brunt of the creature's attack. He continues to pummel into it for 12 damage.
The water creature moves in once again in an attempt to grapple Krash.
Chapter 7
Feral rage races through Krash’s blood!
*snort*snort* I won't *snort* be subdued*snort
Monstrous tusks erupt from his face as his eyes grow black and hollow.
Krash once again has lost control allowing the beast to run free. He charges the creature with his tusks and claws with deadly intent.

The water elemental is unable to take hold of Krash as he lets the wereboar inside take over.
Krash lashes at the elemental in his boar form. (10 damage)
"There it is." TT says. "But can he change back?"
The water elemental dissipates before Krash, but standing in its place is the very image of his normal Goliath form. The image readies its spear for an attack.
The beast stares down the monk, igniting a fury inside him like never before!
The wereboar charges hard into his other self. Krash thrashes into the goliath, but falls right through the major illusion and trips onto his knees just in the front of the pond. In the water, he can see a reflection of his current self.
*snort*snort*
Dark soulless eyes stare back at the beast... he's flooded with shame and regret staring face to face with the monster he's become. How had he lost control?
The feral rage inside him dies down to a low roar. ”What have *snort* I become? *snort*snort*”
Suddenly, a small lizard creature with what appears to be flowers sprouting from its head appears before Krash. He watches it as it zips around him. Before he realizes it, he has returned to his normal form. Krash catches TT's eye from her position on the large boulder. "Looks like you're back to normal now!" she says. "That's one of my friends. You can keep her now though. Maybe she can help you out. I've got my hands full with Turtle already." T.T
"I'm getting hungry again. Let's go find some foods."
Nimue smiles at the sight of Facebreaker's return. "Thank the birds you are alive! I was starting to fear the worst.. I can't believe they allowed you to be dragged away like that. If I wasn't tracking down that deceitful goblin, I would of stopped them..."
She then leans in closer and whispers "Between me and you, I am not sure they like you very much... Especially the little lion over there." She points at Leo. She continues "At least I'm sure you could dig through pile of dirt..."
She backs up and says "So did you find anything interesting on your time away? Surely you brought me a present.." Nimue puts on a cheap smile.
" Krash, I am glad to know you have recovered your mind and senses. It has been difficult to fight without you. When we were confronted by the dragon the other day, I surely wished for your prescense. It will be good to have your steady hand back at our side." He glares at Nimue.
"You up to some tricks again Nimue?" He shakes his head. " Whatever, you have your uses."
"Tricks? I would never..." Numquam let's out a laughing set of case. Nimue turns to the raven and says "Oh quiet you. Most of my fun is your idea anyway!"
" So we were off with a man named Don Jon to investigate a local goldmine.." Leovold begins as he recounts the story of chasing into the mine and then being trapped there by the dragon. " Damned thing closed off the entrances and while I could't get Nimue to come out and fight it, maybe that was for the best. She did get us out." He rubs his nose and sniffs. "As I said, she has her uses."
Linene responds Krash's regretful plea. "Hmm. It seems like you really aren't the same person you were on that night. You did just help us against these ogres... But be warned, there are many residents of Phandalin that will never trust you after what you've done...even if it was under the influence of lycanthropy. I'll be watching you." She looks at the spear he is now holding, the same one she drove through his body on the night of the attack. "We made that item according to your request, with those gemstones you found in the temple. Ironic how you still managed to obtain it in the end." She seems genuinely amazed that Krash was able to survive. "Make haste. We must reach Axeholm before nightfall!" she shouts, motioning for the wagons to continue onward.
Adabra Gwynn eventually runs up to the adventurers during the hike. "Hello again! Chauntea brings us another wonderful day~"

"We got some of those traveling merchants to stop by Phandalin while you were gone. Vitna helped us out a lot with finding some of them too! Anyways we got some goods traded." He shuffles through some of the cargo in the wagon. "Now, where was that..." He shows a selection of wares. "Give you a discount for saving my life! Haha."

sorrow and regret fills the monks eyes as he looks from Linene to his companions.

Krash smiles at nimue and shrugs
”i only bring the gift of wisdom”
a tiny lizard pokes its pink flower covered head out from beneath the goliaths shirt.
“...and friendship.”
he turns to leovold with a warm smile and an out stretched hand.
”i am eager to fight with you all again....did you say DRAGON??”
he looks around excitedly
”where is its head!? I must hear all about your mighty battle!!”
"Tricks? I would never..." Numquam let's out a laughing set of case. Nimue turns to the raven and says "Oh quiet you. Most of my fun is your idea anyway!"
Nimue looks at Facebreaker and says "Oh... Well... That is disappointing. Well let us find a merchant then."
Dusty feels around his body.
"I mean I've seen a lot of stuff but still can't believe you turned us into gas."
Chauntea brings us another wonderful day~"
A wagon passes with Ander and Thistle sitting on top. "Hey~ It's the adventurers again!" Thistle says cheerfully. He has a noticeable burn mark running up his right arm. Haha."

Leovold looks over the bodies of the ogres for anything valuable they might have been carrying.
Afterward he will approach the merchants with the chunks of gold asking what they might exchange for.
Leovold is also annoyed a bit buy Linene as he did not think she would be caring for his companion in such a way. Even if he was cursed.
He brings up to the merchant that he is interested in the clockwork amulet.
