"Wake up you fools, we have company!" Leovold hears a woman say as he approaches up the stairs. A woman is seen standing in front of a stool with her knife drawn. Two men also stand ready, though they look as if they have just woken up from naps. Threadbare blankets are messily strewn on the floor.
" Oh gods, there are brigands or some sort in here! Maybe these are her welps. Quickly!" He charges towards the woman. " If you are here to slay the dragon, prove it or die! I am Leovold Von Katlan Leonin Knight of Neverwinter and I will not hesitate to fight those who would provoke me! Think carefully before you do any more with that blade!"
"The dragon's treasure belongs to the Stone-Cold Reavers! We were here first, and we will not hand it over to some...crazy lion man!" the woman says, in a defiant stance despite a shocked look in her eyes.

The woman stops, shocked. "Kill? We're just here for the treasure...you really think you can take that monster? ...Anyways the treasure belongs to us! There won't be any 'sharing!'" she says defiantly.

" Oh, you are just here for the treasure. Well, I'm mostly concerned with slaying the beast. Maybe if I come back alive we can talk about the treasure, but I don't really care to argue with you about it. Honestly, if you have any info about its habits and have already made progress on getting the hoard I don't particularly care to take it from you. And for heaven's sake of course I don't plan to slay it alone, though it might prove an interesting challenge. My companions are down the hall. Last I saw they were inspecting your horses. "
At saying this, Leovold will make an echo that heads back towards the passage.

" Last thing we expected to find coming here to slay the dragon was a bunch of horses."
The woman stops, taken aback. "Not interested in the treasure? And you're here to slay the dragon!?" She looks to her companions. "I suppose that could be mutually beneficial...I am Syleen Wintermoon. These brutes are Brakkis Elspaar and Jabarl the Orc-Biter. We've barely made it across the bridge," she says, opening a door on the west side. A solid stone bridge spans the 35-foot gap between the gatehouse and the main fortress, 50 feet above the trail that passes underneath it. The bridge is edged by 3-foot high stone railings. Mounted to the fortress wall north of the door to the fortress is an iron bell with a short, rusty chain dangling from it.
" Pleasure to make your acquaintance." Leovold says sheathing his blade. " I fought beside many warriors like yourselves in the war. Have you seen it about anywhere? Oh, I should let my companions know the door to the bridge is over here." He switches place with his echo. " Up here. I found the bridge to the fortress. There are some looters, but I care not for their business when there is a dragon to slay!"
"The dragon 🐉 leaves once a day to search for food within the sword 🗡️ coast. During that time we make our search through the fortress... Silence is always our main priority. If you are seeking to kill it, your best chance may be approaching it on the roof while it is sleeping." Syleen says, still in disbelief that the party hopes to slay the dragon.
" Oh wow, that is some great information. We were struggling to figure out if we might be able to approach it as it slept or not. This is perfect! Any descriptions you can give of the layout of the fortress in your time in there that might help us get up to the roof?"
"This bridge is the farthest we've gotten. The dragon always come back before we can open the door to the fortress. We can always see it fly to the top of it."
Krash observes Syleen Wintermoon conversing with Leovold as the two peek out of a door on the east side. Her hair is tied into a ponytail and her body language is defensive yet brash. One of her companions, Brakkis Elspaar, is unshapely. It looks as if his best years are behind him. He appears ready to take orders from Syleen. The last visible Stone-Cold Reaver is Jabarl the Orc-Biter. He is a rugged and sullen brute, who seems as if he could easily scare a common person with his looks alone. With his careful perception, Krash gathers this information in addition to noticing that there seems to be supplies for one more member of the thieves.
" I see. That would be an issue. Well, we have a few different methods of hetting doors open." Leovold is really hoping he doesn't seem insane still talking about these companions that don't seem to exist.

" Doesn't appear my friends are in the mood to trust our backs to looters as I was. I'm sorry we will have to do this now. I would hate to get stabbed in the back after slaying a dragon for the good people of this area." He draws his blade back out and makes two attacks at the woman near him. He makes an echo in the thick of the combat.

Nimue will cast darkness on her wand and move to the bottom of the stairs. She will keep her ravens with her.
