With all threats eliminated from the temple grounds, the party rests in the priest’s bedchamber without disturbance.
The group finishes their business in the temple, pockets full of gems and coins.
19 gemstones
2 dwarven necklaces
1 ornate dagger
50 gp
1 uncommon magic battleaxe
Returning outside, they see flickers of light coming from a campfire, its smoke rising into the early morning sky. The dwarves look to the soiled warriors. Dazlyn looks to Leovold: “My goodness are we glad to see you! What happened to your arm!?”
Upon hearing that they will be returning to Phandalin, the dwarves request to accompany them. “There’s no way we can stay here any longer.” Norbus says.
A gust of wind blows through the valley as they leave. One can almost hear an angry scream come from the temple grounds: "Tempus...!"
After a calm hike through the grassy plains, the adventurers return to the mining town. The chatter of people waking to start the day can be heard throughout. Businesses are just starting to put up their open signs.
The dwarves say their thanks and separate from the group. "We'll be at the Miner's Exchange. Come meet us there later and we can get you the gold for the gems!" Dazlyn says.

After the rest and the journey back to town, Nimue says "I want to check out the wears of the town to see if there is anything worth acquiring here." She will go to the general store and the trading post looking for anything out of the ordinary including health potions.
" I should find my retainers. They are probably starting to worry about me. Let us meet back up later maybe. Perhaps the inn? I have no idea if Korvis was able to secure lodging."
Nimue makes her way to the Barthen’s Provisions general store. She sees two clerks moving items from a caravan to the inside of the store. A young freckled man with messy hair addresses his coworker: “Hey Ander, look at this pretty lady! Fits the description right? Adventurers! Right here in Phandalin! What a time to be alive huh?” The other clerk, a slightly older young man with slicked back hair and wearing glasses, barely glances at Nimue while moving boxes into the store. After placing the box on a table, he pushes his eyewear closer to his eyes and addresses Nimue. “What can I help you with? We stock most ordinary supplies, but don’t expect anything out of the ordinary.”
Upon hearing her request, the man tells Nimue that the closest place one would be able to obtain potions of healing are at Umbrage Hill from Adabra Gwynn. “Most of the locals don’t have a need for those on a regular basis, you see. It would simply be unprofitable for the owner.” The other clerk follows up by saying: “Oh come on, Ander. Show some hospitality to our visitors from distant lands! I’m Thistle. This store’s owned by Elmar Barthen, hence the name. He’s out at the moment though… Let me show you around? You mentioned wanting some weapons? The Lionshield Coster is just down the road from here!”
Krash makes his way to the Shrine of Luck, a makeshift temple made of stones stacked upon one another. As he approaches, he sees a small girl with black hair and pale white skin running in the grass. She pauses to look up at the Facebreaker with drooping eyes and says, “Aren’t you a big one. Are you looking for Sister Garaele? She’s not here right now.” She giggles before running off behind the temple. “Hehehehe-”
The Zhan-gin notices Nimue being led down the road by a talkative and animated Thistle. He decides to join them on the way to the Lionshield Coster. From the outside, the voice of a sharp-tongued woman can be heard barking orders to employees.
...
Korvis finds Leovold on the road, saluting him. “Master Leovold, we’ve made the proper arrangements in town. The townmaster has been alerted of our arrival. Vitna has had discussions with the miner’s exchange and local businesses. Torin…” he begins to say, before noticing Leovold’s arm. “Sir, what has happened here!?”
Leovold gives his best smile to try to deflate any worries.
" Oh nothing, just took a bit of a scratch helping out some of the locals while we were out. Nothing serious. In fact, I was quite impressed by the abilities of the rest of those adventurers. I think I might be joining them again, as they seem quite interested in work and this town is facing quite a few issues."
Leovold stops for a moment noticing he has been slowly curling his head downward to his arm which he is clutching to avoid prying eyes. He quickly takes a big breath, using second wind before letting go of it, and he looks back up at his butler, but also a close friend.
" See, it was nothing."
The wound has shrunk to a small scratch that is healing well. He walks up and puts his arm around Korvis to walk with him through the town.
" Now give me a rundown of what you have found. I'm sure you heard about the dragon. I'll have to do something about that. How is the local economy? Have we been able to secure any lodgings? I wasn't sure if a small place like this might have a spare house around even for me, but I can't say I wasn't hoping. I know you and Vitna are quite capable. And you were saying something about Torin?"
Nimue approaches the scene and says to Leo "How quaint, the lion has been reunited with his cubs. Excuse me, the general store did not have what I was looking for but Thistle here has offered to help us look around. Let us see what this store has to offer." Nimue spins, flairing her black robe as she enters the shop.
Dusty enters the miner’s exchange and sees Dazlyn and Norbus. “Thar han jr! Dusty!!!” Dazlyn cheers. A taller woman with calculating eyes approaches from behind the dwarves. “Hello there. You must be one of the adventurers we’ve been hearing so much about. A lot of commotion suddenly in this small town. They tell me you have some wares to exchange? That can easily be arranged.” She has one of her workers scribble a note of the exchange. “The name’s Halia Thornton, by the way. I’m sure this won’t be the last time we meet.”
18 gemstones: 180 gp
1 dwarven necklace: 50 gp
1 ornate dagger: 100 gp
TOTAL: 330 gp
Dusty attempts to give the dwarves their share, but Norbus pushes his hand back. “Tho arzavaz vok. ...Thank yeh.”
(ooc: 330/4 = 82.5, rounded up: 83 gp each)
“Weren’t there two more items…?” Dusty thinks to himself, before assuring himself that they were missing before he entered the exchange.
…
Upon entering the trading post, Nimue and Krash are greeted by the woman whose voice was heard earlier. “There you are. We were told by a talking lion that some adventurers would be here soon. I wasn’t expecting to see actual lions here at the Lionshield Coster!! I’m Linene Graywind. We hold stock of basic weapons here if you need. According to my sources, you should be trustworthy enough.”
"That...ahem...sort of repair seems a bit out of our realm of expertise." says one of the workers upon looking at Krash's melting spear. "We do carry a selection of basic ones if you'd like to replace it though. How about this one for 1gp?"
...
Korvis kneels before replying to Leovold: “Forgive me, sir. We have not had enough time to make arrangements such as housing. This town’s resources are limited after all. Torin was tasked with securing lodging at the inn, however. That may be sufficient for a temporary solution."
" It might do us good to get some time among the people we will be serving. You did well." Leovold pats Korvis on the back. "Lets see if there is any particular reason that elvish woman wanted to come to the store with them. Did you see that tall Goliath man? He is quite impressive in combat. I saw him pummel an acidic slime with his bare hands."
If he sees Krash buying the spear, I will make sure to pay for it for him.
"Please allow me to repay your valor at least a small amount."
Nimue seems disappointed with the selection of wares. She turns to Thistle and says "I have a task for, if you really want to see us defeat this Dragon, your aid will be required. I need you to acquire some unique goods for us. You will do that for me won't you? If they are worth buying of course I will pay you a price but the money should not be thr focus, remember you have a family and friends to save."
Nimue snaps her finger and Magis soars in and lands on her shoulder. "If you know of any towns or traveling merchants, we can send Magis here to notify them of our requests."
facebreaker holds the spear and twirls it effortlessly checking it for weight, balance, and craftsmanship. after an impressive display of skill and coordination he frowns upon completing his inspection
”this spear makes for sturdy tool, but if your smith is capable, i require strong spear for strong weapon”
he stars at linene with a warm smile and maintains excessive eye contact, almost as if the monk were able to stare right through her hopes and dreams.
”the weapon i need would be this tall with counter weights here and here...”
he motions to the spear and describes improvements like the weapons made by the artisan smiths from his village atop the montain.
" One of my retainers, Vitna is quite adept at finding things one might need. I might be able to send her out without troubling the locals too much Nimue. If Thistle would like to earn some money or get some time out of town, I understand such needs as well."

Linene hides a smirk before leaving. "I've got some work to do in the back room."
The worker looks at the Facebreaker nervously, a drop of sweat dripping from his forehead as he listens to the goliath's description. "Um...I'm sorry, Mr. Giant. We...we won't be able to do that for you at the moment. This one is all we have..."
...
"Woah! You're feisty! Not like the other girls in town!" Thistle says enthusiastically. He observes the raven fly to Nimue, his eyes more fascinated than fearful. "Traveling merchants...yea. Yea, they come around every once in awhile. Not today though...I'll tell Ander that you're looking for one! We'll notify them if they come to town. Could be awhile though! Especially with all the commotion lately..." Thistle leaves and runs down the road back to the store.
facebreaker offers the smith a warm smile and some unsolicited advice.
”i will purchase 2 of these spears from you today, but i ask that you work on improving your skills and craft.”
he holds a finger in the air.
“remember, being bad at something, is first step towards being great at something.”
he pays the vendor for the spears and exits the shop
——
facebreaker places a giant hand on leovolds shoulder.
”no need to repay me. we are now kindred spirits, tied together through art of combat. instead let us eat and drink together! you can buy first round.”
Upon entering the Stonehill inn, chatter can be heard from early morning drinkers.
"Once again, the orcs have come down from the mountains to prey on the lowlands! If Neverwinter doesn't send help soon, the orcs will overrun Phandalin and destroy everything we've worked so hard to rebuild!"
The noticeably inebriated man continues: "Am I suppose to believe that this is 'help?' A talking lion...and a few adventurers!? Gold seekers and treasure hunters! What we need is the army!"
Leovold recognizes Torin's voice reply with the following: "Watch your mouth, human. You have no idea what sacrifices Neverwinter has made!!!"
Torin lets out a growl, showing his claws to the drunk man just as Leovold and Krash enter the dining room.
Leovold gives Torin a look. He should know better, but Leovold knows that youth can be hot-headed and Torin has always been quick to defend him. Leovold pretends he heard nothing besides the look to Torin. " What a fine inn. The people of these parts really are capable of so much. It brings me joy to see such a spirited group. Torin, Good to see you. I hope you have been getting on well with the locals. It seems they are in dire straights here." He takes a deep breath and makes sure to project to the inn. "Loathe as I am to bring our people back into conflict, it might be necessary to bring some of those who remained soldiers here. For now we must do what we can for the people here. They are under our care and should be respected for the fine work they have done to survive so far."

facebreaker smiles and waves at the young girl before joining nimue at the lionshield coaster.
