"If we indulge in a trick or two of yours, will you allow our friends to have their bodies back?" Astra inquires, brows raised.

Insight (in needed): 18

“This one called Zyn will come back, but only when I wish it! Yes. When I wish it. Want to keep an eye on stupid scared eblis! So! Soulmonger eh. Acereraks doing no doubt. Yes. Kubazan wants to have fun and play! Always time for tricks there is. Always!“ Zyn laughs loudly for about twenty seconds. “Come! Kubazan knows the way inside! Or does he?? For now, you can have this one back. Yessssss. Then time for tricks! Hahahaha!”

Zyn stops laughing suddenly and her eyes shift. She blinks a few times and looks around, confused.

Kitsune's DC16 CHA ST: 2

"Hey! Don't you think you can run off and leave me to deal with these guys alone!" Kira shouts, her own eyes shifting.

Kira looks around. "Uh? Guys? What's going on? Kia! What're you doing up there?" The bat flutters back down to her hood.

“Why am I over here? Who toppled those statues over? Have i..” Zyn asked absently, attempting to shake something from her head. She could feel something rattling around in her head. A presence. Ancient. Troublesome. Naughty. Yet brave. Fearless. 

And..laughing..?

She blinked a few times more. Slowly, it cleared. Faded. Like a blanket being lifted. 

One moment she was over there, the next she blacked out and was over here. And the mess from the Nine Gods statues. None of it made sense.

"We should..probably find a way inside.." she suggested, dizzily.

"Aye, we should." And Asha will head on towards Area 3, keeping an eye on Zyn and Kira.

A short tunnel ends at a slab of worked stone, whose edges are marked by relief carvings of grinning skulls. Four lines engraved at the center of the slab cross one another to form a star, with both ends of each line marking the location of a cube-shaped cavity cut into the door — eight cavities in all.

Asha places the cubes so that each god is across from the deity that they oppose. (for example Kubazan is facing Papazotl, Wongo is facing Moa, and so on)

You can hear stone grinding upon stone towards the west. (AREA 4A)

Zyn jolts and her pupil dilate once more. 

She doubles over in laughter, nearing falling over.

"Excellent job! Come come! Let's go play inside! Yes! Let's see how long you last! Acererak has killed gods before, what luck will you have?! Come! BOlphbpthaHAhahh!"

She waves her arms around Asha, taunting her and wiggling her tongue at her, mouth open wide.

"This body is very flexible, much better than one used to have. But is small. No tentacles. Just two arms. And two eyes."

She squats and backflips over to Kira, pretending to hide behind her. "Look at how small and pathetic YOU are!" She leg sweeps you and as you bail, Zyn doubles over and laughs. When she recovers, she skips and hops and wiggles towards AREA 4A.

"Come, feeble stupid mortals!"

Asha follows Zyn to Area 4A

Astra gives a confused look over to Faust, the snake simply blepping in response to the expression. With a shrug, the wizard follows behind.

The door at 4A is open. You can see a short hallway, and another stone door at the end. An iron lever is set into the door’s surface, with a graven stone skull leering down from above. As you walk down the hallway and get to halfway, the skull’s jaws creak open, and a skeletal hand holding a crystal hourglass-style timer emerges from within. With a click, the timer rotates and sand starts to trickle into its lower globe.

"HAHAH!" Zyn laughs, bouncing up and down on the balls of her feet. "What could THIS be?! OoOoOO! Think fast think fast think fast!! Could be dead before this even starts! Yes! What to do what to do?!"

Zyn, possessed by the spirit of Kubazan, does nothing but laugh and giggle and writhe as the sand timer ticks down from 10...9...8...

"Yikes!" Kitsune yelps out as the timer starts to tick downwards.  "This is a puzzle trap!"

Kitsune will quickly search around the room for a possible hidden exit (Perception: 21).

"Oi, spirit. This is yer tomb, what's gonna happen?"

Kira heads over the lever and gets ready to pull it if the time hits 2 and we don't have a plan yet.

"This is a prison, not MY tomb - it's Acereraks! And, it's about to be YOUR tomb! BHAaHahAHueHuehU!!" Zyn prances around, clearly uncaring about the danger. "What to do!? WHAT TO DOOOOO!!"

Kitsune finds no exit.

"Well I think yer bluffin'. You need us to kill Acererak, can't do that if we're dead."

"I don't need you to do anything! I am already dead!" Zyn laughs. "But wait! NOT ANYMORE. I have THIS body now! I am FREE! Free to cause all the mischief in the world. I don't care what happens to the other gods. HAH! But i'll make sure the bird doesn't surviviiiieeEeEEeeeeve..."

Kitsune will skitter behind Zyn and give her a great big bear hug, and not let go. "You and me, bub...we're in this together.  If you die, I die.  Friends till the end!"

(NOTE: She's acting all friendly here, but she's not afraid to die in the slightest.  And she's doing this, knowing that Kubazan likes his temporary new resident body, and wouldn't let any harm come to it.  So if Kubazan does something at the last second to save himself, Kitsune will do the same thing.)

“Can’t be alive if that body dies, you know?” Astra points out to the possessed monk, readying up a spell. “And I’m certain you wouldn’t lead us into a trap only to get the body you just got killed. Kira, don’t pull that lever. Wait to see if Kubazan does anything first.”
