So, we're agreed? I'll take this scallywag back to Bryn Shandar and send the bird back to meet you all. We'll meet back up together before finding those hunters and then get back to business? Excellent.
With that, Jhee-Kharr tosses the token in the air, climbs on to the bird's back with his arms around the birds neck area and the Weevil strapped to his back like a backpack.
The roc takes off with Jhee-Kharr and Weevil secured upon it. It swiftly disappears into the horizon as you set off on foot. Narbeck assures you the the Marchion of Mirarbar is expecting you as he has a sending stone linked with theirs. JK arrives that evening and is greeted by the Axes of Mirarbar, the royal guard, who escort Worvil the Weevil to the prison for identification. JK is put up in a guest suite of the Palace. The rest continue the journey on foot, some departing ont he second day as the Roc returns to ferry another two of you. On the night of the third day as the last of you arrive in Mirarbar you are greeted by the following view.
Mirabar is the richest city of the North by far. It sits atop a knoll on the north side of the Mirar River like an unassailable fortress, enclosed on all sides by sloped outer walls as wide at the base as many city blocks in Waterdeep. Defenders can fire arrows down from atop the walls, or, in winter, pour water down them to make ice slides. There is no shortage of stone and weaponry. Even the docks have battlements and fortifications.
Standing next to Jhee-Kharr is the Marchion of Mirabar, Silan Ramur, with a chest guarded by a frost giant. The giant is clad in plate armor and wears the skull of a white dragon as a helm. His jagged axe also looks quite formidable.
Ackley waves in greeting to Jhee Khar hunched over slightly clutching his staff and smiles . “ that is certainly welcome. A break from all the excitement and a chance to take stock would be well received.” He glances to the frost giant cautiously with an obvious but understandable lack of trust.
Silan sees Ackley give the giant a once over. “Welcome to Mirabar my friends. Jhee_Kharr was regaling us with your exploits so far. I wished to meet you in person to give you this reward of 5000 gold coins for the apprehension of the ne’er-do-well Worvil the Weevil. I also wanted to introduce you to another being of reknown. The is Harshnag, a member of Force Grey, and the bane of his evil hearted cousins. But he has come looking for new companions to assist him on a quest that seems to be of interest to you. But I will let him explain. “
Harshnag nods down at the Marchion before addressing you. His deep voice sounding like a Boulder rolling slowly over gravel. “As you are no doubt aware the giant gods have broken the Ordning, the divine caste system that orders the standing of all the giant types in terms of superiority. What you may not know is that the Storm Giants were at the peak of that system and recently their High King Hekaton has gone missing. The means that there is no one strong enough to stop the giant tribes from squabbling amongst themselves and carving out new empires from you small folks land. Far to the North of Everlund in the Spine of the World is a temple dedicated to the giant gods and an ancient oracle. I am seeking a band of adventurers to help me reach the Temple and from there try to divine the fate of King Hekaton. If we are lucky he is still alive and may be able to stop this madness before it goes too far. Any magical items we find along the way will obviously be split amongst yourselves as I have no need of it. What say you?”
Ackley your insight roll means that you detect no ulterior motives and no deception in his speech.
Harshnag let’s a low rumbling laugh off. “I like you small man you’re honest and to the point. Unlike so many these days. I find that refreshing. Do not fear duplicity from me I have slain more of my kin than you know exist.”
The marchion claps his hands in delight. “Oh yes you’ll love it here. May I recommend taking a chance to peruse our enchanters corner for supplies too? If you have the coin you can buy it here@

Jhee-Kharr looks around for somewhere to sell the 15 gemstones and gem-encrusted they took from the giantess.
Investigation - 10
He also looks out for somewhere that he could pick up some Bracers of Defense, an Amulet of Health, an Insignia of Claws or some excellent staff upgrading.
Jhee-Kharr leads the others to a bazaar that was recommended to him by the Marchion. Within you find a human female of indeterminate age, most likely caused by the consumption of potions of longevity. She informs JK that insignia of claws have not been seen since the disbanding of the cult of the dragon but she has something similar. With a pair of bracers of defence it will cost 1600 gold. But she is willing to take gems and the horn as a trade
She turns to the others so what would you like? I have some enchanted half plate that’s going for 1200 an enchanted shield and a bag of tricks that combined will cost 1450
I have a cloak that would suit the ranger in the back for 500 gold although for an extra 1000 I can offer you an improvement on your armour too.

“Err before you go isn’t the bounty in Mirabar? I thought the bounty hunters were in Bryn Shandar.” Zephyr interjects
Hmm, maybe I'm not the best choice to go first. Ah, I'm sure it'll be fine. Mirabar it is!
I'll keep an eye out for the bird's return journey and meet up with you there.

Jhee-Kharr has been trying to have a conversation in giant with the taciturn guard about his impressive helm.
Ah, excellent! We're all here. This is our good host gentlemen, I've been made quite welcome.

Leo replies “It seems we share a similar goal. I will accompany you on this quest. Though remember this giant, I will be watching you.”

Ackleys shoulders relax and he nods , satisfied with Harshnags monologue. “ what say we check the market , get some rest and head off in the morning?”
The marchion claps his hands in delight. “Oh yes you’ll love it here. May I recommend taking a chance to peruse our enchanters corner for supplies too? If you have the coin you can buy it here@
“ thankyou for the recommendation , I’ll head there right away . “He bows to take leave and ambles away slowly to the enchanter.
Excellent, let’s do this. Carilius also gave along
Entering the market quarter Ackley takes time to survey the available establishments

Not seeing much else of interest he wanders into the enchanters with Carilius and approaches the front desk .
