The bolt streaks through the air, just like the first it bursts through the giants eye, the force burying it deep in to its skull, severing something vital. The giant stops in its tracks, a vacant look spreads across its face before it falls backwards with a thunderous crash.
As the sounds of battle fade you are able to gather near the flash frozen corpse of Augrek. Taking a moment to Mourn a fallen comrade Brennan pauses before moving off to try and help those stuck inside the collapsed buildings nearby. Looting the corpses of the giants you recover 15 gemstones each worth 100 gold from Drufi’s helm and her gem encrusted horn is valued at about 750 gold.
As evening falls it finds you sat tired and worn out in the tavern after a day of digging survivors out and treating the wounded.
Leo looks around the other, battered and bruised. that was close. If the giants try again or greater numbers, I fear may not be so lucky again. We need reinforcements
You are approached by Sheriff Markham, Speaker Duvessa, Beldora and Sirac of Suzail. All look worn from the day, Markham in particular looks like he had been working to put off grieving for Augrek. Duvessa begins speaking to you. “First I would like to apologise for not seeing you yesterday if I had done then maybe Augrek and the others would still be alive today. Secondly I would like to thank you for your efforts today to try and save as many lives as possible. We cannot rest for long however. The sheriff needs people we can rely upon to travel to the other towns and find evidence of any other giant activity, we can petition Luskan for help if we do so. If possible we would like you to be our scouts. Beldora here says that you can find assistance from a colleague of hers in the township of Hundelstone, her associates name is Thwip Ironbottom, he is expecting you apparently. Sirac has something to say to you too.” She indicates for Sirac to step closer.
“My friends,” he begins “it would seem that the giants are trying to track my father by his blood and that by remaining here I put everyone at risk of another assault. I would like to accompany you if possible at least as far south as Luskan. From there I can charter a vessel south and hopefully away from the frost giants. I know not of my fathers current location but I do know he had connections with the Roaringhorns of Waterdeep. Perhaps they may enlighten you further if you visit them. I would ask you to focus on protecting the Ten Towns in the first instance though. Augreks death weighs heavily enough on my conscience as it is. I could not bear being the cause of more loss.”
Markham sighs at this point. “I also need to ask a favour of the fleetest footed of you.” He looks pointedly at Eoan. “Augrek had family in the dwarven capital of Mirabar to the East. Could I ask you to bring news of her passing to her family, tell them she died with honour protecting the town and the people she loved.”
Eoan nods calmly “of course , it would be my honour” He moves around the group to say his goodbyes before heading off through the towns crowds and debris for the most eastern exit .
Brennan stands “It’s a long way to Mirabar I’ll come with you. I’ve seen how the rest of you handle yourselves I have no doubt the giants will rue the day they met you”
Eoan and Brennan pack their things and set off while the rest of you take your leave of the locals and fleets for the night. The following morning finds you stiff but ready to face the day. The market square is starting to return to normal and you see Sheriff Markham waiting for you with two figures.
“Good morning to you all. This is Ackley the Shepherd and Zephyr. They are here representing Auril the Frostmaiden. She is the primary diety for this part of the material Plane and she gets mighty upset when others break her stuff, namely her followers here in Bryn Shandar. They heard you were gonna go give a kicking to any giants still knocking about and decided they wanted to help.”
Zephyr walks forward to greet you. He is a tall pale skinned man broad of shoulder and has blue tinged hair, hinting at his genasi heritage. “It would please Auril if we could accompany you in your journey from here. My understanding is that we are to accompany Sirac to Luskan and from there you were to patrol the ten towns for signs of giant incursions. Is that correct?”
Collecting Sirac on your way you head out of the eastern gate towards Redrun the next nearest town on your way to the mountains and the mining town of Hundelstone. You set a good pace for the cold weather, it’s will take at least 6 days of walking to reach Redrun. The first day passes with no excitement.
Beldora fires at the last remaining giant

Brennan makes a death save 1
Leo runs down to Brennan and slides by his side. He places his hand on Brennan’s chest and utters words of magic
cure wounds 12
The massive wound on his chest heals under the glow of Leo’s hand. Brennan gasps and sits bolt upright. “Gods that hurt. My thanks”
You hear the booming of hurled rocks fade as the other giants notice their leader has fallen and decide to withdraw.
