so i'm level 2 now, so, i got three prepared spells in the paladin list i can choose, what do you want me to pick and explain why in terms of what you want my paladin to be? reason for asking is cuz i like being a team player, so if i know what the team wants, i can fit the needs best.
Well we have 3 support, 2 ranged, and the rest melee, so I think Bless, Cure Wounds, and Heroism would all be good calls. Basically get in the enemy face with the melee warriors, buffing them and or the ranged ones, healing them, and dealing extra damage yourself as well.

Ai'ryn lets out a breath as he watches the beast fall. His eyes scan the crowd, looking for where he may be most useful in cleaning up the wreckage. As he begins to move towards the front of the room, he stops short as he sees the illithid reveal its true, wretched self. Emotions take over as he recalls his people's past, the pain and suffering the Gith have suffered at the hands of these loathsome creatures. Regaining his composure, Ai'ryn begins to briskly walk again, instinctively beginning to cast. He places his thumbs together, and just as he is about to complete the incantation stops. Looking around, he realizes the devastation he was about to cause, and also remembers the purpose of his task. Shaking his head, he glares at Thurk then moves to help clean up any pools of acid that may be lying around.

"Mark": Goliath Paladin - Shipwrecked on Fugue: A Journey of Self-Discovery Razil Trympan: Tiefling Warlock - The Tower of Zenopus
(OOC: I think it’s great that the Paladin is willing to take into consideration the needs of the party. Our deficiency in healing might be a consideration but who knows, maybe a NPC cleric or two can be convinced to join and hang out in the back. Kind of like Brother Maynard and crew from the Monty Python and the Holy Grail movie. You know, being off screen and showing up just at the right time with healing (or a Holy Hand Grenade).)
The revealing of a Mind Flayer was a bit of a surprise, but after meeting Tlak-Shik he was becoming a bit normalized by the abnormal. He smiles and nods to the tentacle faced companion but then regards the fallen reverently. Good innocent people had fallen for nonsense. "Why would a Major demon send a minion here?" Elric says, questioning no one in particular. He then shakes his head with a deep inward breath and begins to help with the grim task of removing the bodies and gore form the area. Intending to help in any way until he is told otherwise or engaged by another.

Well blow me down! I thought I was going to be the least pretty one in this group but you've taken that one from me too! On my ship it matters not where ye come from only that we heave to in the same direction!" Jhoni taps Thurk companionably on the shoulder Now who else needs a drink?
I also leveled up, and just out of curiosity, here is what I got:
I got a new spell (Hellish Rebuke) I changed one of my spells ( Protection from Good and Evil). I got two eldritch invocations (Agonizing Blast and Eldritch Sight)
((OOC: I'm digging this game. I think at the start just because we had different parties it was confusing but now that everyone is on the same page, should be better. Maybe if we split up again, we can change the text color or something so can just zero in on which thread is yours. It's not the usual to have a party this big and I'm happy to be a part of it))
Elelyel's jaw drops open as the Illthid reveals himself. She knows only the few tales she's heard. But those tales say they don't like to get their own hands dirty and make others do the work. She walks over to Thurk and looks him up and down. "You fought with us, without hesitation. That I can respect. You are alone, when I have heard that is near death for your kind. Why, and how? Be you shunned? Hunted?"
I am very impressed at your skill at handling a party this large. I’ve never seen anything like it, so you’re setting a high bar for someone in the future to be measured against. I know I wouldn’t be able to manage it. I am quite enjoying myself, have no intention of (voluntarily) leaving, and am looking forward to more adventures/reveals. I have even been even trying to read between the lines to predict upcoming reveals/puns/dad jokes. I have an OOC working theory about Mib, but we’ll see. Ok, back to character ...
Nivlen, while stunned at the appearance of a mindflayer, has a few other concerns cross his mind.
1. Can the downed citizens be stabilized, if so he will be looking for Mool and team to be rushing to their aid.
2. Nivlen has a healing kit and will assist with stabilizing the fallen, if needed. Otherwise ...
3. How did the troll make it this far into the city? Is there a trail of destruction/death that spans back to the North Gate? Were guards lost?
Mool stands in the doorway, shocked by the sight of the dead troll. Behind him, the citizens that made it inside the temple are milling about, tending to minor wounds and peeking out the door into the courtyard. There doesn't seem to be a huge number of wounded citizens, but as Mool had excused the temple staff to attend the festival, many of the clerics are elsewhere in the city(there are many festival events spread throughout Androll)
At the sight of Thurk, the blood fades from his face. He does not say anything, but keeps a wide berth between himself and the illithid as he checks on the people in the courtyard. After he offers prayers over the last few injured civilians, he slowly walks to the barbarian. He reaches into his robes, and pulls out two small vials of red liquid and hands them to the Barbarian, locking eyes with him. After a moment that seems to take an eternity, he turns away and walks back toward the temple door. You can't quite be sure, but you think you may have noticed him shudder a bit, whether in disgust or anger you can not quite discern.
Thurk stands in the center of the courtyard, shoulders slumped in a defeated posture. You look around the courtyard, wondering how the troll got there in the first place...
OOC nah you're doing great. Big parties IRL can be tough too but I'm happy to keep going. Do far having fun.
I'm going to be out of range from Friday evening until about Sunday evening, taking family camping.
Tegid looks at Thurk with a small amount of distaste, and if not shock then a little disquiet at his deception. However being in touch with nature, Tegid can understand Thurk's reticence at first.
Tegid has some healing ability and will go and assist Nivlen.
ooc: thanks for the heads up, we can just say after assisting in the healing, Tegid excuses himself to go do druid stuff in the woods for some amount of time, he can pop back in when you get back 🙂
